  • The present study is aimed to investigate experimentally on the hydrodynamic behaviours of air ~ pulverized coal flow in rectangular combustor with cavity. Mean velocity, density and tur¬bulent properties of pulverized coal in rectangular entrained flow combustor were measured by PDA. Experimental results show that the flow reattachment point at the lower plane in the com¬buster chamber has been developed near X/D= 15. The similarities at each section are found after the flow reattachment point. The maximum values of turbulent intensity and Reynolds shear stress have been shown near Y/D=6, which is higher than centerline. The maximum density of the pulverized coal sited in the range ofY/D=6~8.

  • A three-dimensional finite difference time domain (3-D FDTD) algorithm of calculation for the characteristics of coaxial-to-cavity filter including a discended probe and a tuning post is presented. In the arrangement the inner coaxial conductor protrudes into the cavity and operates as a probe radiator. And the height of the rectangular tuning post determines the resonant frequency. The validation of this method is confirmed by comparing the calculated values with experimental results for the designed filter.

  • A numerical simulation is carried out mixed convection in horizontal channel with a heat source from below of rectangular cavity. Finite volume method was employed for the discretization and PISO algorithm was used for calculating pressure term. The parameters governing the problem are the Reynolds number ($10^{-2}{\leq}Re{\leq}50$), the Rayleigh number ($10^3{\leq}Ra{\leq}2.06{\times}10^5$), the Prandtl number ($0.72{\leq}Pr{\leq}909$), the aspect ratio ($0.5{\leq}AR=W/H{\leq}2$) and the angle of inclination ($0^{\circ}{\theta}60^{\circ}$). Mean Nusselt number distributions were obtained and effect of Reynolds number, Rayleigh number and Prandtl number on mixed convection in the horizontal channel with rectangular cavity were investigated.

  • In this paper, a cavity back slot antenna with a rotated rectangular patch is proposed. The proposed antenna consists of a ground plane with cavity structure, a microstrip feed line, and a rectangular patch with slot. With a dimension of $55mm{\times}40mm{\times}10mm$, the proposed antenna has the wide bandwidth due to the cavity structure. Measured 10 dB return loss bandwidth and fractional bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 5,030 MHz(3.02~8.05 GHz) and 90.9 % at the center frequency of 5.05 GHz. The proposed antenna is designed and simulated using ANSYS HFSS v.15.0.0. The designed antenna is fabricated and tested to validate its performances.
