A Low Power Parking Management System for Intelligent Building (인텔리전트 빌딩을 위한 저 전력 주차관리 시스템)

  • The parking management system can increase driver's convenience with detailed parking information service in the parking lot. At the same time, parking management system consumes non-negligible electrical energy with large amount of sensors, displays and control modules. With the increase in the demand for green and sustainable building design all over the world, it becomes a meaningful issue for parking management system to reduce operating power. This paper presents the preliminary design and estimated results of a parking management system which is optimized to reduce the power consumption mainly on detectors and displays. The system design is based on pre-developed wireless parking detectors, Park Tile and Park Disk. The system has a number of parking space detectors, vehicle count detectors, information displays, guidance terminals and other control units. We have performed system architecture design, communication network design, parking information service scenario planning, battery life regulation and at last operating power estimation. The estimated operating power was 0.93KW per parking-slot, which is 20% of traditional systems. The estimated annual maintenance cost was 18% of traditional systems.

  • The goal of this research is to identify the energy planning techniques of Smart Green City and to establish the realized plan through the analysis of Multi-functional Administrative City. For the research, eighteen planning techniques were derived and categorized into three sectors and six basic direction through literature review and Brain-storming analysis considering correlation between three goals of Smart Green City and expectation of planning technique. And Multi-functional Administrative City was analyzed for the current status of application of planning techniques focus on two application aspects. In conclusion, 'Establishing Integrated Management Center for Urban Energy', 'Building Energy Management System', 'Building Automation System', 'Green Transport System', 'Intelligent Transport System', 'Introduction of Eco-friendly Transportation' planning techniques in reduction of building energy consumption sector and green-intelligent transport system sector were identified as important techniques for Smart Green City.

  • This study investigates the thermal conductivity and density of expanded polystyrene insulation materials collected from buildings under going energy retrofit projects. Due to the absence of initial thermal conductivity data, determining precise long-term patterns was challenging. Analysis based on design documents revealed that expanded polystyrene insulation maintained consistent performance over ten years. Notably, the thermal conductivity measurements of insulation samples of the same grade and age varied significantly. Additionally, the insulation density was found to be substantially below the standard specified in the design documents. The results of the experiment indicate that performance management during both construction and operation phases is lacking. It is crucial to apply building commissioning, which involves performance verification throughout the building's life cycle, to properly evaluate building energy performance improvements, such as building energy retrofit projects.

  • In this study, a group of home bus system(HBS) is used to manage difference types of household appliances or many household appliance of the same type. The existing central controller is analyzed, and an independent control system is built to devise new methods to design the PC HBS. The newly designed system is installed in an air-conditioned building; the system can be monitored and controlled from a control room or from an office. By using the system, we can efficiently manage future energy needs and control large-scale integrated electronics and home automation system to an individual manage to build large is expected to contribute.

  • 최근 유비쿼터스 환경을 실현하기 위한 노력이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 대표적으로 센서 네트워크를 예로 들 수 있는데, 센서 네트워크란 다양한 위치에 선치된 태그와 센서노드를 통해 사람과 사물, 환경정보를 인식하고 그 정보를 무선으로 수집해 언제 어디서나 자유롭게 이용할 수 있도록 구성된 네트워크를 의미한다. 이를 실현하기 위해 센서 네트워크를 적용한 물류, 환경제어, 홈 네트워크, 헬스케어, 교통 등 다양한 응용분야가 적용되고 있는 가운데, 센서 네트워크 분야는 거대해지고 응용분야가 확장될 것으로 예상된다.

  • 기하형상이나 엔지니어링에 관한 정보를 3차원 모델기반으로 다루는 BIM기술은 기존의 2차원 도면작업들에 비해 업무의 효율성이나 신속성, 비용측면 등에서 많은 이점을 제공할 수 있어 건축계획 및 설계, 엔지니어링, 시공, 유지관리, 에너지분석 등 건설산업의 전 분야에 활용되고 있다. 본 논문은 BIM용 프로그램들간에 정보교환을 위해 사용되는 건물의 국제표준 정보모델인 IFC 파일로부터 구조해석을 위한 건물형상모델을 자동으로 구축하기 위한 방법을 제시하고, 실제 구현한 프로그램으로 적용사례를 보여준다.

  • Ubiquitous Computing 시대가 도래 하면서 집이나 빌딩 같은 실내 환경에서도 Ubiquitous Computing을 도입하려는 여러 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히 Smart Home은 집 안에 여러 종류의 센서를 설치하여 센서로부터 얻는 정보를 바탕으로 사용자에게 다양한 서비스를 제공한다. 이와 같은 Smart Home을 구현하기 위해서는 사용자나 물체의 위치 정보가 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 Smart Home에서 위치 정보를 지원하기 위해 초음파와 IEEE 802.15.4 기반의 센서 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템에서는 초음파를 사용함으로써 생기는 문제와 센서의 효율적인 에너지 관리를 위해 IEEE 802.15.4를 적용하였다. 이 시스템은 초음파 송신부를 가지고 있는 S-node 와 수신부를 가지고 있는 R-node 로 구성되어 있으며 본문에서 각각의 구조와 알고리즘에 대해 기술할 것이다.

  • Building energy saving is one of the most important issues in these days. Energy saving control strategies should be developed properly to achieve the saving. One of such area we could apply is the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) system. Through the optimal control algorithm for building energy management system (EMS), you can not only save the cost of building energy, but also protect HVAC system components against the unexpected condition. In order to verify the effectiveness of building energy saving, field test was accomplished for several months at 'A' building. And to get the measured data, remote control was used. If the remote control is used in BAS (Building Automation System), control and monitoring can be done for all of the building systems, such as HVAC, power, lighting, security and fire-alarm etc. anywhere any time. Using the remote control, Control and monitoring is possible for the testing system without going there. As the results of field test, we could reduce $5{\sim}10\%$ of the building energy cost.

  • Application of heat recovery system applying air supply and cexhaust ventilation device essential in energy management system for the optimum ventilation system utilization and energy saving. This is a key element of infrastructure technology for high-efficiency energy buildings, because it can save heating and cooling energy in winter and summer. In this paper, heat transfer efficiency was simulated using paper, plastic, and aluminum materials that was examined to compare heat exchanger performance under uniform flow conditions. We tested heat transfer efficiengy according to the shape of two of that, one is orthogonal and the other is refraction shape. Based on the simulation results, it is expected to contribute to the production of high performance heat exchanger with heat transfer performance and pressure loss.

Selection and Strategies of New Leading Businesses in International Construction Market (해외건설시장의 신성장동력 공종선정 및 진출전략 도출)

  • As the international construction market is rapidly expanding, Korean contractors have the need for having new leading businesses for their sustainable growth and high performance. Thus, this research tried to explore new leading businesses with two questions: 'What can be the new leading businesses?' and 'How can Korean contractors implement new leading businesses?' To this end, based on Porter's five forces framework and the resource-based view (RBV), we first derive three evaluation criteria (possibility of market entry, possibility of profit earning, and possibility of value-added earning). Next, we developed a framework for business evaluation which considers external market condition, internal competitiveness, and spin-off effects toward domestic market. Based on the framework, we defined green-energy plant, environmental plant, desalination plant, nuclear power plant, new urban development, and high-rise building as new leading business. Then, we selected green energy plant, environmental plant, and new urban development for the purpose of prior occupation of the market, consolidation of the competitiveness, and expansion of the ripple effect, respectively. Finally, we deduced market entry strategies for each business by investigating experts' opinions.
