A Study on the Status and Performance of Cultural Heritage in the Demilitarized Zone on the Korean Peninsula (한반도 비무장지대 문화유산의 실태조사 현황과 성과 고찰)

  • A fact-finding survey of the Demilitarized Zone can be said to be a very meaningful academic survey linked to previous index surveys of protected military areas and municipal and excavation surveys of ruins and military sites on Mount Dora. Not a few ruins were first discovered in this survey, and the locations, structures, and restoration artifacts of the previously investigated ruins were confirmed differently, raising the need for a detailed investigation. In particular, it is noteworthy that various relics from the Paleolithic Age to the Joseon Dynasty were recovered from relics dispersion sites such as Josan-ri and Cheorwon Gangseo-ri in Paju, and Hoengsan-ri Temple Site is also a Buddhist relic in the Demilitarized Zone. However, in the case of some graveyards and relics sites in the Paju region, it was an opportunity to understand the reality that they are not safe from cultivation and development, and the ruins of Cheorwon Capital Castle, Seongsanseong Fortress, Jorangjin Bastion, and Gangseo-ri Bastion were damaged during the construction of military facilities, and an urgent investigation is needed. Also, farmland and hilly areas around the ruins of Jangdan, Gunnae-myeon, and Gangsan-ri have not been properly investigated for buried cultural assets due to small-scale development. Therefore, it is an important time for the relevant authorities and agencies to cooperate more closely to establish special management and medium- to long-term investigation measures for the cultural heritage in the Demilitarized Zone based on the results of this fact-finding investigation.

Classification of Agro-climatic zones in Northeast District of China (중국 동북지역의 농업기후지대 구분)

  • This study was conducted to classify agro-climatic zones in Northeast district of China. For agro-climatic zoning, monthly mean temperature and precipitation data from Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO) of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA, USA) between 1979 and 2010 (http://disc.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/) were collected. Altitude and vegetation fraction of East Asia from Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) were also used to classify them. The criteria of agro-climatic classification were altitude (200 m, between 200-800 m, 800 m), vegetation fraction (60%), annual mean temperature ($0^{\circ}C$), temperature in the hottest month ($22^{\circ}C$), and annual precipitation (700 mm). In Northeast district of China, mean annual temperature, annual precipitation, and solar radiation were $3.4^{\circ}C$, 613.2 mm, and $4,414.2MJ/m^2$ between 2009 and 2013, respectively. Twenty-two agro-climatic zones identified in Northeast district of China by metrics classification method, from which the map of agro-climatic zones for Northeast district of China was derived. The results could be useful as information for estimating agro-meteorological characteristics and predicting crop development and crop yield of Northeast district of China as well as those of North Korea.

  • 논에서의 밭작물 재배면적은 점점 늘어나는 추세이며, 저수지에 용수가 있음에도 불구하고 논 위주의 용수공급체계로 인하여 가뭄이 심한 경우에 일반 밭지대에도 용수공급이 용이하지 않다. 지표수를 밭 관개용수로 사용함으로써 기존 수리시설의 활용도를 제고하고 농업용수의 사용 절감 및 신규 개발비 절약 등의 효과를 얻게 될 수 있도록 농업용수의 다목적 이용방안이 필요하다. 밭작물의 용수확보는 대부분 개인관정을 이용하여 밭지대에 관개용수를 공급하고 있으나, 최근 지하수는 전국적으로 수위가 낮아지고 있으며, 특히 가뭄시 지하수위 저하에 따른 용수공급이 어려울 것으로 예상된다. 지표수는 저수지, 양수장, 취입보를 활용하여 공급하고 있으며, 송수시설은 관수로 및 용수간선을 활용하여 저류시설로 공급되고 있다. 저류조 설치는 산중턱 및 고가저류조와 평지 설치로 수원별 하천수의 경우 송수는 펌프를 이용하여 저류조에 송수하여 관수로를 적용한다. 급수방법은 자연유하 방식 기능을 선택한다. 저수지 경우 송수는 수원으로부터 직접 공급시 자연유하 방식이 가능하고 고가저류조의 경우 펌프를 이용하여 저류조에 공급한다. 평지설치시 기존 개수로를 적용하면 펌프로 유입수를 취수할 수 있는 조치가 필요하다. 평지설치 급수는 펌프를 이용하여 관개장치에 공급한다.

A Study on Puncture Properties of Short-fiber Reinforced Rubber (단섬유 강화고무의 관통 특성 연구)

  • The puncture properties under various conditions were investigated for the optimum conditions to yield the best properties. Fiber aspect ratio(AR: length of fiber/diameter of fiber), interphase condition and fiber content were considered as variables which impact the puncture force and friction force. The puncture force of short-fiber reinforced rubber increases up to 3.4 times compared to the virgin material. The better interphase condition shows the higher puncture force at given fiber AR and fiber content. The friction force of the matrix and reinforced rubber with a fiber AR below 155 does not exist. The friction force of the reinforced rubber with the good interphase condition and high fiber AR is higher than puncture force of matrix. Overall, it was found that the interphase condition, fiber AR and fiber content have an important effect on the puncture properties.

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 원전이 위치한 지역의 토양에서 $Cs^{137}$의 축적 경향을 파악하기 위하여 원전이 위치한 영광군 관내의 평지와 고산지대인 금정산, 불갑산 및 영광원전으로부터 원거리에 위치한 내장산 등을 대상으로 토양 중 $Cs^{137}$의 화학적인 특성과 고도에 따른 $Cs^{137}$의 축적 경향을 평가하기 위하여 실험을 통한 연구를 수행하였다. 일반적으로 국내 토양 중 $Cs^{137}$의 농도는 불검출 - 2523q/kg-dry의 범위 내에 포함되었으며 본 연구에서 수행한 평지부분과 고산지대인 원전으로부터 2km 떨어진 금정산, 약 20km 떨어진 불갑산 및 원거리에 위치한 내장산에서도 지금까지의 $Cs^{137}$ 농도 범위에 들었다. 그러나 고산지대는 평지에서와는 다르게 고도가 증가함에 따라 $Cs^{137}$ 농도도 증가하는 경향을 보이고 있고, 정상 부분보다 $Cs^{137}$의 농도가 하부 부분보다 더 높게 나타났고 영광원전 인근 일반평지부분보다는 $Cs^{137}$의 방사능 농도가 2~6배 정도의 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 연구결과 $Cs^{137}$의 분포는 지형적 요인(고도, 강수량 등)과 토양의 화학적 요인(양이온치환용량)과 상관성이 근 것으로 나타났다. 지형적 요인으로는 주로 고도를 들수가 있는데 높은 고도의 산의 경우 대기중 $Cs^{137}$이 토양에 침투되는 기회가 커짐으로 동일한 토질 조건의 평지 토양에 비해 높은 $Cs^{137}$ 준위를 나타내었다. 토양의 화학적 요인으로는 양이온치환용량이 주요 인자임이 규명되었다. 양이온치환용량은 침적된 $Cs^{137}$을 토양에 고정시키는 능력을 나타내며 같은 지형조건에서 높은 양이온치환용량을 가진 시료가 낮은 양이온치환용량을 가진 토양에 비해 $Cs^{137}$ 농도가 높은 값을 보였다.

  • LDM의 분류와 응용 사례를 다루는데 제한된 지면사정 등으로 아쉬운 점이 많이 남는다. LDM의 개발 및 응용은 OA용, 측정 및 미소이동용 기구로서의 소형에서 부터 선박추진용 초전도기, 레일건 등의 특수용도의 대용량에 이르기까지 매우 다양한 형태로서의 진전이 예상된다. 특히, 선진 외국에서의 이 분야에 대한 지대한 관심과 엄청난 연구개발 상황에 비해 국내의 실정이 너무 미약하다는 생각을 하며 이 분야에 대한 흥미와 연구개발의 노력을 아끼지 않는 연구자가 많이 나와야 겠다.

Verification of the Possibility for Overcoming HF Skip Zone through NVIS communications (NVIS 통신을 활용한 HF 도약지대 극복가능성 검증)

  • The HF communication method is capable of communicating short and long distances without a separate relaying method and is used as the primary/secondary communication method in other nations. However, the Korean military strongly discouraged the use of the method due to issues regarding the skip zone and the fact that the usable frequency changes according to irregularities in the ionosphere. The NVIS communication is less susceptible to noise than typical communications using ionosphere reflection, and is also able to communicate short distances containing skip zones. In this paper, we inspect the NVIS communication methods of foreign nations in order to facilitate the use of HF communications, as well as provide solutions to the issues mentioned above. This paper explains the concept of NVIS communication, and investigates how the Korean military is implementing HF communications based on actual communications data of military corps. Based on this result, we have verified the possibility of overcoming skip zones through NVIS communications, and have considered the applicability of a prediction program in order to enhance the efficiency of HF communications.

Photoelastic Stress Analysis of Single Implant Restoration According to Implant Fixture Size and Abutment Diameter (단일치 임플란트에서 고정체와 지대주 직경의 차이에 따른 광탄성 응력 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the pattern and the magnitude of stress distribution in the supporting tissues surrounding implant fixture with different diameter of implant fixtures(3i implant, Ø4.0, Ø5.0, Ø6.0mm and UCLA abutments(Ø4.1, Ø5.0, Ø6.0mm using photoelastic stress analysis. Photoelastic model was made with PL-2 resin(Measurements Group, Raleigh, USA) and three implants of each diameter were placed in the mandibular posterior edentulous area distal to the canine. Individual crowns were fabricated using UCLA abutments. Photoelastic stress analysis was carried out to measure the fringe order around the implant supporting structure under simulated loading conditions(15 lb, 30 lb). The results were as follows; 1. The more the diameter of implant fixture was increased, the less the stress concentration on cervical area of fixture was observed under loading. 2. Increasing mesiodistal diameter of implant superstructure had no much influence on stress distribution around implant fixture. 3. The use of smaller abutment had no influence on stress distribution around implant fixture. The use of smaller abutment diameter than that of implant fixture had no favorable effect on implant supporting tissue at biomechanical consideration.
