A Study on the elements of business model innovation of non-fungible token blockchain game : based on 'PlayDapp' case, an in-game digital asset distribution platform (대체불가능토큰(NFT)기반 블록체인 게임의 비즈니스모델 혁신요소 연구 : 게임 내 디지털 자산 유통 플랫폼 '플레이댑' 사례를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to empirically prove that blockchain games can provide business model innovations through interoperability among NFT based game items. Through our research on 'PlayDapp platform', we figured out that the technological innovation of blockchain games not only has provided a positive influence to the socio-economic and industrial ecosystem perspectives, but also it differentiates companies(game developers and platform providers in this eco-system) and increases customer benefits.

  • 요즘 우리의 생활 속에서 차세대 신기술로 주목할 만한 것이 바로 "빅 데이터" 이다. 하지만 빅 데이터는 아직 구체적인 개념이 모호한 상태이다. 빅 데이터란, 기존 데이터베이스 관리도구로서 데이터를 수집, 저장, 관리, 분석할 수 있는 역량을 넘어서는 대량의 정형 또는 비정형 데이터 집합 및 이러한 데이터로부터 가치를 추출하고 결과를 분석하는 기술을 의미한다. 이러한 분석된 데이터들은 여러 방면으로 활용이 가능하다. 이를 통해 기업에서는 비즈니스적인 활용이 가능하며 예측과 분석을 통해 사업전망을 내다볼 수도 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 비즈니스 모델 혁신을 위해 빅 데이터 기반 예측분석이 왜 필요한 지에 대해 논의하고 기업들이 혁신을 촉진하기 위해 사업전략 목표에 예측모델들을 활용하는 운영 모델을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 연구는 Kingdon(1984)과 Howlett(2014) 모델을 결합한 수정모델을 적용하여 국제과학비즈니스벨트의 정책결정과정을 분석하였다. 그 과정에서 어떠한 사회 정치적 요인들이 영향을 미쳤는지에 대해 알아보고 향후, 국제과학비즈니스벨트 사업과 거대기초과학 정책 추진방향을 모색하고자 하였다. 구체적인 분석은 정책결정과정을 정책의재, 정책형성, 정책집행의 단계로 구분하고, 문제 과정 정책 정치의 흐름과 창, 정책선도자를 변수로 활용하였다. 분석결과, 정책결정과정에서 정치의 흐름과 정책선도자의 역할이 중요하게 작용하였고, 과학자 집단보다는 정치가들과 정부 관료자들이 주도적으로 참여하였으며 그 과정속에서 정치적 혼란을 겪으며 급진적으로 진행되었다는 점을 알 수 있었다.

Nature and Sources of Business Values in Digital Social Innovation (디지털 사회혁신 창출 비즈니스 가치의 성격과 원천)

  • Digital Social Innovation, social innovation utilizing digital technology, is gaining attenntion as an innovative new way of solving pressing social problems such as ageing, traffic, unemployment etc. while some raise concerns as to the negative impact of digital technology on society associated with Share-the-Scraps-economy and On-demand-economy. The paper aims to address these concerns by examining the nature and source of business values generated in digital social innovation. Donation, cooperation/solidarity and sharing are identified as sources of business value from social innovation. Digitization, Platform may present infrastructure upon which efficiency of economic transaction can be elevated. The participation of consumers/users in the value chain and value network enabled by digital technology is identified and discussed as the critical source of business value in digital social innovation. The business model of Docksan-dong Happy Parking Street living lab project is analysed to illuminate the realization of business vaules in real life setting. Policy recommendations and future research directions are suggested.

A Study on Modeling Framework of Convergence Business (융합 비즈니스 모델링 프레임워크에 관한 연구)

  • Compared to the wide spread of convergence in government and industries there are still lack of theoretical foundation and effective methodologies to successfully implement it. Especially, there are few remarkable results on the ideal types of convergence business model (BM) in both domestic and foreign researchers. In this paper we show theoretical types, strategic alternatives, and design steps of convergence BM could be developed based on '4WH1H model' which is a conceptual framework of a BM. 4W1H model includes 5 constituents of a BM, i. e., customer value, value proposition, operation, target market, and supply capability. We derive 5 theoretical types of convergence BMs depending on the focus of innovation, i.e., value, product, operation, market, and capability. After defining the constituents and types (i.e., structural aspects) of convergence BM, we also show a BM could be linked with business strategy by defining the interaction among 5 constituents (i.e., behavioral aspects) of convergence BM.

The Effects of Technology Commercialization Capability and Competitive Strategy of Venture Companies on Growth Prospects: Focused on Mediating Effect of Business Model Innovation (벤처기업의 기술사업화역량과 경쟁전략이 성장전망에 미치는 영향: 비즈니스모델 혁신의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • Although the number of venture start-ups has increased significantly, it is difficult to judge the success or failure based on short-term performance alone. The survival of a company cannot be guaranteed if it does not show sustainable growth prospects. As a growth factor for venture companies, the level of technology commercialization capability and competitive strategies are considered important. Recently, the emergence of innovative business models is creating new opportunities and driving the growth of numerous venture start-ups. This study tried to investigate the mediating effect of business model innovation in the relationship between technology commercialization capability, competitive strategy and the growth prospects of venture companies. For this, empirical analysis was conducted using the original data of the Research on the Precision Status of Venture Firms 2021. As a result, production, manufacturing, marketing capability, cost leadership and product differentiation had a positive(+) effect on growth prospects. The mediating effect of business model innovation between all factors except for manufacturing capacity and growth prospects was verified. This study expanded the scope of research by shedding new light on the factors influencing the long-term growth prospects of venture companies and revealing business model innovation as a new mediating variable. In future research, it is necessary to develop an objective measurement tool and to identify differences according to industrial characteristics.

Business Model Innovation in the R&D Service Sector: A Case Study of Automobile R&D-service Firms (연구개발서비스업에서의 비즈니스모델 혁신: 자동차 연구개발전문기업의 사례 연구)

  • The rates of technological innovation and environmental change as well as market competition have recently accelerated, which makes it difficult for firms to satisfy the needs of their customers through existing product innovation or limited services. Some firms have attempted to find the solutions to this problem by conducting business model (BM) innovation. This study reviews the theoretical discussion to BM innovation and suggests propositions concerning the necessity of BM innovation and conditions of successful BM innovation. Furthermore, the study examines the applicability of the propositions and draws strategic implications by analysing the cases of two world-wide leading firms, AVL and ETAS, in the automobile R&D service sector. In particular, the study investigates how the firms with technological competence in the R&D service sector obtain market performance through BM innovation. Results of this study show that the case firms recognize the necessity of BM innovation based on product (or technology)-service fusion to effectively propose customer value and create corporate profit. Also, the firms exploit firm-specific complementary assets for successful BM innovation. This paper contributes to the literature of innovation management by promoting academic discussion concerning BM innovation in Korea and suggesting strategic implications for further development of R&D service sector and related firms in Korea.

  • 인터넷은 90년대 들어 월드 와이드 웹이 등장하면서 상업적으로 광범위하게 사용되기 시작했다. 인터넷의 발달은 일상생활 뿐만 아니라 경제활동에도 많은 변화를 초래했는데 인터넷 기반의 새로운 경제체제를 우리는 흔히 디지털 경제라는 부르고 있다. 수확체증, 역 시장, 선도자 우위 등의 현상이 지배하는 디지털 경제에서 인터넷을 이용한 비즈니스를 인터넷 비즈니스라고 한다. 비즈니스를 수행하면서 모델을 정립하는 것은 전략을 수립하기 위해 기본적인 과정이다. 그러나 현재 대부분의 인터넷 비즈니스는 그 모형을 정립하지 못하고 전략수립에만 골몰하는 경우가 많았다. 새롭게 창업하거나 기존 사업에 인터넷을 도입하고자 하는 경우에 기준을 제공할 수 있는 인터넷 비즈니스 유형 분류 체계가 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문은 체계적인 인터넷 비즈니스 유형분류 체계를 마련하기 위한 기반을 제공하려고 한다. 이를 위해 먼저 기존 인터넷 비즈니스 유형분류와 관련된 연구들을 살펴봄으로써 인터넷 비즈니스에 대한 이해를 도모하였다. 그리고 시스템적 관점에서 인터넷 비즈니스를 살펴보았다.
