Transport Efficiency Analysis of the Lines of Urban Railway using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA를 활용한 도시철도 노선별 수송효율성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze transport efficiency of each of the 17 urban railway lines being operated by national public agencies using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and to seek strategies for improving efficiency of the urban railway system. The study identified the economies of scale derived from these values of efficiency and examined the effects on cost for free ride loss and profit of transport by the fare system as the external factor. At the time, Transport profits are estimated by two production factors such as the number of vehicles and service frequency derived from multiple regression. Finally, the measures to improve the efficiency were presented in terms of profitability in the national urban railway line by applying the values of efficiency derived from DEA to multidimensional scaling (MDS).

  • By according to increase the research for autonomous vehicle in automobile industries, the efficient of autonomous cargo truck instead of conventional driver cargo truck will be analyzed in logistics areas. The inland transportation has been serious problem such as traffic accident, traffic congestion in downtown, air pollution, noise and etc. even if it have a great effect to logistics industries. Especially there have to be improved its transportation schedule and sleepy driving in night which induced heavy accident in highway. In this study, the effectiveness of autonomous cargo truck will be analysed by considering the logistics cost including social effects.

  • In this paper, we investigate a rekey mechanism for a secure multicast group communications and relate the mechanism to the loss of information from group key exposal. We also combine cost for the information loss and cost for group key updates and analyze the optimum rekey interval. Using the results of the analysis in this paper, we can manage a secure multicast group efficiently with the minimal cost on the bases of number of group members, each member's security level and withdrawal rates.

  • 다중 결합 질의에 포함된 다수의 결합 연산지를 효율적으로 처리하기 위해 서는 효율적인 병렬 알고리즘이 필요하다. 최근 다중 해쉬 결합 질의의 처리를 위해 할당 트리를 이용한 방법이 가장 우수한 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 이 방법은 실제 결합 시에 할당 트리의 각 노드에서 필연적인 지연이 발생되는 데 이는 튜플-시험 단계에서 외부 릴레이션을 디스크로부터 페이지 단위로 읽는 비용과 이미 읽는 페이지에 대한 해쉬 결합 비용간의 차이에 의해 발생하게 된다. 이들 사이의 실행시간을 가급적 일치시키기 위한 '페이지 실행시간 동기화'기법이 제안되었고 이를 통해 할당 트리 한 노드 실행에 있어서의 지연 시간을 줄일 수 있었다. 하지만 지연 시간을 최소화하기 위해 할당되어질 프로세서의 수 즉, 페이지 실행시간 동기화 계수(k)는 실제 결합 시의 결합률에 따라 상당한 차이를 보이게 되고 결국, 이 차이를 고려하지 않은 다중 해쉬 결합은 성능 면에서 크게 저하될 수밖에 없다. 본 논문에서는 결합 이전에 어느 정도의 결합률을 예측할 수 있다는 전제하에 다중 해쉬 결합 실행 시에 발생할 수 있는 지연 시간을 최소화 할 수 있도록 결합률에 따라 최적의 프로세서들을 노드에 할당함으로서 다중 해쉬 결합의 실행 성능을 개선하였다. 그리고 분석적 비용 모형을 세워 기존 방식과의 다양한 성능 분석을 통해 비용 모형의 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • This study suggests a methodology for organizing functions of nD CAD model which 4D object is linked with cost and resource information. And the suggested model is composed of process analysis function of plant project based on visualized scenario analysis. That is, it is possible to manage effectively not only construction schedule plan, but also resource and cost information by integrating construction management information into nD CAD object. And the suggested model can be utilized as information of a effective decision-making tool through analyzing of optimal process scenario and sharing of an analyzed information.

  • 본 연구는 우리나라와 세계 주요국의 이동통신서비스기업들의 자료를 이용하여 개별기업별 효율성을 측정하고 이로부터 해당 기업들의 국제 경쟁력 수준을 비교하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 함시창 (2006)의 방법론을 이용하여 각 기업의 트랜스로그비용함수를 추정하였으며 추정된 함수들로부터 규모의 경제성 시현 여부를 파악하고 X-비용효율성(X-cost efficiency)을 계산하였다. 연구결과 이동통신기업들은 규모의 경제성을 시현하고 있는 것으로 추정되었으며, 우리나라의 이동통신 기업들은 외국의 이동통신기업들에 비해 상당히 높은 수준의 비용 효율성을 보이고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • Recently, the demand on the practical application of life-cycle cost effectiveness for design and rehabilitation of structure is rapidly growing unprecedently in engineering practice. Accordingly, in the 21st century, it is almost obvious that life-cycle cost together with value engineering will become a new paradigm for all engineering decision problems in practice. However, in spite of impressive progress in the researches on the LCC, the most researches have only focused on the Deterministic or Probabilistic LCC analysis approach (Level-1 LCC Model) at design stage. Thus, the goal of this study is to develop a practical and realistic methodology for the Lifetime risk based Life-Cycle Cost (LCC)-effective optimum decision-making at design stage.

  • This study investigates the strategic environmental corporate social responsibility (ECSR) of polluting duopoly when two firms have different production costs and compete with prices. We then examine an endogenous timing game in choosing ECSR and its effects on environmental damage and social welfare. The followings are the main findings: First, sequential choice of ECSR is strategic complements and it provides late adopter advantage irrespective of cost difference. Second, sequential choice of ECSR is the equilibrium of endogenous timing game. In particular, an efficient firm-leading ECSR is the payoff dominance equilibrium when cost difference is significant. Finally, environmental damage and social welfare depend on the social cost of pollution. In particular, an efficient firm-leading ECSR is socially desirable when social cost is high. However, an inefficient firm-leading ECSR increases environmental damage irrespective of social cost and it reduces social welfare when cost difference is significant.

  • 최근 전력계통은 에너지저장장치(ESS: Energy Storage System)의 도입이 확산되고 있는데, 신재생에너지 출력완화, 송전혼잡 해소, 주파수조정, 전압변동, 에너지차익거래 등의 목적으로 사용되고 있다. 이렇듯 각 ESS는 각기 다른 목적으로 사용하고 있는데, 현재 전력계통 ESS 운영은 각 목적별 ESS를 독립적으로 사용하고 있어, ESS를 효율적으로 사용하지 못하여 설치비용 대비 경제성이 떨어지고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문은 이러한 ESS의 경제성에 관한 문제점을 해결하고자 Multiple ESS상태에서 배터리 수명 비용을 줄이고, 배터리를 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 사례연구에서는 각기 다른 목적으로 사용되고 있는 ESS를 독립적으로 사용하는 경우와 배터리 수명비용을 바탕으로 전력을 분배한 경우의 비용을 분석해 보았다.

A Study on Cost-Benefit analysis for Geographic Information Systems in Local Governments (지자체 GIS사업을 위한 비용효과분석 연구)

  • Because efficiency of the 1st-phase NGIS investment(1995-2000) has not been clearly measured, the action taken in the 2nd-phase NGIS project requires NGIS budgets to be evaluated in terms of effectiveness. Especially, the effective investments in local governments are critical for the NGIS projects, because they execute the much larger amount of budgets in total than other GIS projects. As indicated, for the successful NGIS implementation, it is important to obtain continuous political and financial supports from decision makers. As a persuasion measure for the budget appropriation, CBA(Cost-Benefit Analysis) and CEA(Cost-Efficiency Analysis) can play an important role for the decision makers. The major concern of this paper is how to measure the costs and benefits of the GIS implementation by considering important characteristics of the GIS projects in local governments, and existing theories are reviewed for this concern. The GISs in local governments can have different stages in terms of its evolution and the effectiveness of the applications can be represented variously. To identify categories for measuring costs and benefits of the various GISs, case studies and success stories are reviewed from both the foreign and domestic research. The categories of costs and benefits are determined from the tangible and intangible aspects. The categories for the quantitative and qualitative measure are proposed to evaluate the GISs in local governments. After measuring costs and benefits, three key evaluation methods in cost-benefit analysis are suggested as follows: 1) the benefit: cost ratio (B/C), 2) Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and 3) the net present values (NPV) of the costs and benefits. The sensitivity and uncertainty analysis are also helpful to make a decision for the GIS budget appropriation in local governments. In conclusion, although cost-benefit analysis is not an easy undertaking, it is certain that it can play an important role in the future for the GIS funding decisions in local governments.
