Development of $ZrO_2/Nafion^R$M composite membranes for PEMFC operation at high temperature/low humidity (고온/저가습 PEMFC운전을 위한 $ZrO_2/NafionM$ 복합막 개발)

  • 현재까지 연료전지 전해질 막으로는 Nafion으로 잘 알려져 있는 perfluorosulfonic acid(PFSA)막이 주를 이루고 있다. 이 막들은 $80^{\circ}C$ 이하의 낮은 온도의 연료전지에서 가장 좋은 성능을 보인다. PFSA 막들은 탄소-불소로 이루어진 사슬의 특성상 산화, 환원의 조건에서도 뛰어난 안정성을 보이며 이온 전도도가 0.1S/cm 이상으로 기존에 알려진 전해질 막들 중 가장 우수한 성능을 나타낸다. 하지만 연료전지의 작동온도가 $100^{\circ}C$ 이상의 높은 온도에서 는 막에 존재하던 수분이 제거되면서 수소이온 전도도가 떨어지며 기계적 물성도 떨어지는 문제점을나타낸다. $100^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서 연료전지를 작동시키면 양쪽의 전극에서 일어나는 촉매반응의 속도가 향상되며, 물의 끓는점 이상에서 작동되므로, 전지 내에서 다양한 상을 고려하지 않고 기화된 물만을 고려하여 설계를 할 수가 있다. 따라서 최근 이러한 고온/저가습 운전을 위 한 전해질 막의 개발을 위해 기존의 Nafion 막에 전도성 무기 입자를 도입하는 연구들이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전도성 무기 입자로서 $ZrO_2$나노입자를 합성하고, 이를 상용 10 wt.% Nafion 용액에 분산하여 solution casting 방법을 통해 $61{\mu}m$ 두께의 유기-무기 복합막을 제조하였다. 제조한 유기-무기 복합막의 성능 평가를 위하여 함수율, 이온 전도도, 당량무게 및 단위 전지를 이용한 전류-전압 곡선을 측정하여 상용 Nafion 112 막과 비교해 보았다. $ZrO_2$ 입자는 전도성이며 동시에 친수성을 나타내기 때문에 상용 막에 비하여 함수율 및 수소이온 전도도가 우수하게 나타났다. 복합막의 이러한 물성은 $100^{\circ}C$이상의 고온에서 전해질 막 내의 물 관리를 용이하게 한다. 단위 전지 운전 온도 $130^{\circ}C$, 상대습도 37%의 운전 조건에서도 상당히 우수한 전지 성능을 보임에 따라 고온/저가습 조건에서 상용 Nafion 112 막보다 우수한 막 특성을 나타냄을 확인하였다.

Effects of Chain Extender and Inorganic Filler on the Properties of Semi-Rigid Polyurethane Foams (반경질 폴리우레탄 발포체의 물성에 대한 사슬 연장제와 무기 충전제의 영향)

  • The physical properties of polymeric foams depend on the density of foams, physical properties of base polymers, the content of open cells, and cell structures including the size and its distribution, the shape of cell, and the thickness of skin layer. The foam density is affected by the chemistry of raw materials, the concentration of crosslinking agent and the blowing agent as well as the operating parameters during production process. In this study, the basic formulations of foams are composed of polyester polyol, MDI, amine catalyst, tin catalyst, silicone surfactant, and water. Cross-linking density of polyurethane was increased by using chain extenders. Also, the mechanical properties of polyurethane foam were improved by using the inorganic fillers (silica 1,2 and talc 1,2) having different $SiO_2$ contents and particle sizes. We investigated the properties of modulus, tensile strength, compressive strength and hardness of foams obtained by changing kind of inorganic filler and chain extender, and observed the distribution of inorganic filler as well as variation of cell size within the foams by electron microscopy.

  • This study examined the current status of ATE in the development stage of the domestic guided weapons field, including the re-establishment of automatic test equipment (ATE), and attempted to develop methods to verify the validity of ATE in the defense sector. This study includes methods for confirming the repeatability and reproducibility of newly manufactured or replaced ATE. An error injection test is required for validation in the development phase. And pre-inspection steps are required for validation. When developing ATE, the use of an international standard testing script language ensures efficient validation and SW reliability. This ensures interoperability between the main and test equipment, and the tester can secure a test system platform that supports standardized testing methods, which is considered to be effective in validating specific ATE for each weapon system.

Tuning Exothermic Curing Reaction of Hydrogenated Bisphenol A Epoxy Resins for Stone Conservation (석조문화재 보존.복원에 적용될 에폭시 수지의 경화 시 반응열 제어 및 안정성 향상 연구)

  • The exothermic cure kinetics of epoxy resin was controlled by hardener containing fast and slow curing agents. The epoxy risen comprises hydrogenated bisphenol A-based epoxide (HBA), fast curing agent (FH) and slow curing agent poly(propyleneglycol)bis(2-aminopropylether) (SH). Talc was used as an inorganic additive. In the process of curing, cure kinetics along with temperature was monitored by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and thermocouple to show that the temperature increase was well controlled by adjusting the hardener mixture. Additionally, bending and tensile strengths of the epoxy/talc composites were also measured to be lower and higher with the amount of the talc inorganic additive, respectively. It is thus concluded that the increase in the temperature during exothermic curing reaction and mechanical properties of epoxy resins are tuned by optimizing hardener mixture for successful stone conservation.

  • To investigate cellular regulation of phosphate metabolism between catabolically repressed and derepressed states in Saccharomyces uvarum, the activities of polyphosphatases, the analysis of polyphosphate and cytochemical observation of volutin granules were examined according to the culture phase and under various phosphate concentrations. As the results, tripolyphosphatase activity was increased more than six-fold during catabolic repression as compared with those of catabolic derepression and the polyphosphatase activity increased at the time of maximal accumulation of acid insoluble polyphosphate 'B'. Of the low molecular weight polyphosphates, tripolyphosphate was mainly detected by thin layer chromatography. When the synthesis of volutin granules in derepressed cells was observed cytochemically, acid insoluble polyphosphate localizing at the cell wall was primarily synthesized and then transferred into the cytoplasm, nucleus and/or vacuole.

  • Orchardgrass(Dactylis glomerata L.) hays, which had been harvested in different seasons and grown with different levels of potassium (K)fertilizer, were fed to foats in metabolic cages in order to know the effect forage mineral content on mineral balance of goats. The K contents of the feed were 3.4, 4.9 and 5.8% and magnesium (Mg) contents were 0.26, 0.21 and 0.21% on a det matter(DM) basis in K-low, K0medium and K-high treatments, respectively. Urinary K excretion was significantly more on K-high than on K-low treatment. Faecal and urinary Mg excrerions on K-low were higher than those on K-medium and K-high feeds. And there was a tendency of positive relation between urinary Mg excretion and serum Mg concentrarion. Goats on K-high treatment seemed to drink more water and excrete more urine than those on the other feeds.

  • This paper describes on aerodynamic analysis based on the truncation rate of guided-weapon nose using computational fluid dynamics. The shape to perform the analysis is only the body of the guided weapon and the diameter to length ratio is 10.7. Three nose shapes were selected and hemisphere, 25% and 50% truncation were compared. For the accurate CFD analysis of the body, the grid method and the analytical method were selected and verified using NASA wind tunnel test data. For the three nose shapes, the drag analysis for the flight Mach number is 6~20% different. This difference was analyzed by the pressure distribution from nose to base.

  • In this work, the primary material for a single layered hardmask which can afford a spin-on process was prepared by the minture of organic and inorganic sources. The preparation of hybrid polymer was attempted by esterification from silanol terminated siloxane compounds and acetonide-2,2-bis(methoxy)propionic acid. The optical, thermal and morphological properties of the test hardmask film was examined in terms of cross-linking agent and additives. In addition, the etch rate of hardmask film and photo resist layer were compared. The hybrid polymer prepared from organic and inorganic materials was found to be useful for hardmask film to form the nano-patterns.

  • This study was concentrated on the variation of cordycepin production from liquid culture of Paecilomyces japonica.. Cordycepin production was measured from mycelium and culture broth of P. japoniaz. Optimum media composition was studied on inorganic N-sources, inorganic salts, trace elements and C/N ratio. In this results, cordycepin production in medium containing $(NH_4)_2HPO_4$, histidine and $CaCO_3$ was higher than control in culture broth.

  • 동양의학에서 강정 강장제로서의 귀히 여겨지는녹용의 유효성분과 또한 녹각과 그 유효성의 차이를 찾기 위해 무기질, 아미노산과 지방산 조성 등을 비교 검토하였다. 무기질 조성은 녹용과 녹각에서 Ca의 함량이 제일 높았고, Na과 K 함량도 상당히 높았으며 Hg 등 중금속은 전혀 검출되지 않았으며, 녹각에서는 Mn과 Fe이 미량 검출되었다. 녹용의 지방산은 포화지방산보다 불포화지방산 함량이 월등히 높았으며 그 중에서도 동맥경화증을 경감시킨다고 하는 docosahexaenoic acid가 43.73%로 제일 높았고, 녹각에서는 녹용에 비해 전반적으로 함량이 낮았다. 아미노산은 녹용에서 총 17종이 검출되었는데, glycine 함량이 제일 높았고, alanine과 proline 순이었다. 이는 collagen이 녹용의 상당부분을 차지한다는 것을 시사하며, 녹각에서는 비록 함량은 적었지만 10종이 검출되었으며, glutamic acid, proline, glycine과 alanine 등도 상당히 함유되어 있었다.
