An Implementation of Test Bed for Linux based IEEE 1394 communication test (리눅스 기반의 IEEE1394 통신 시험을 위한 시험 환경 구축)

  • IEEE1394 standard supports both isochronous and asynchronous data transmission, thus enabling high-speed data exchange between PC and networked home electronic devices. This paper describes an implementation of Test Bed for Linux based IEEE1394 communication test. In this paper, An integrated Software was developed to test IEEE1394 communication environment. To develop the software, open source software(gscanbus,dvgrab, playdv, Xine, Kino) for the Linux environment was investigated and integrated. It was tested such as the communication among the devices, asynchronous date transmission, isochronous data transmission, and its result was successful. This integrated software has the potential to become efficient test tool for the futher development of networked home electronic devices and multimedia services.

Performance Evaluation of Initial Cell Search Scheme Using Time Tracker for W-CDMA (시간 동기 블록을 적용한 비동기 W-CDMA용 초기 셀 탐색 방법의 성능 분석)

  • The cell search scheme for W-CDMA consists of the following three stages: slot synchronization(1st stage), group identification and frame boundary detection(2nd stage), and long code identification(3rd stage). The performance of the cell search when a mobile station is switched on, which is referred to as initial cell search, is decreased by the initial frequency and timing error. In this paper, we propose the pipeline structured initial cell search scheme using time trackers to compensate for the impact of the initial timing error in the stage 2 and stage 3. The simulation results show that the performance of the proposed scheme is maximal 1.5dB better than that of the conventional one when the initial timing error is near ${\pm}T_c$/2.

A Low-Complexity Alamouti Space-Time Transmission Scheme for Asynchronous Cooperative Systems (비동기 협력 통신 시스템을 위한 저복잡도 Alamouti 시공간 전송 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel low-complexity Alamouti coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme for asynchronous cooperative communications. Exploiting the combination of OFDM symbols at the source node and simple operations including sign change and complex product at the relay node, the proposed scheme can achieve cooperative diversity gain without use of time-reversion and shifting operations that the conventional scheme proposed by Li and Xia needs. In addition, by using the cyclic prefix (CP) removal and insertion operations at the relay node, the proposed scheme does not suffer from a considerable degradation of bit-error-rate (BER) performance even though perfect timing synchronization is not achieved at the relay node. From the simulation results, it is demonstrated that the BER performance of the proposed scheme is much superior to that of the conventional scheme in the presence of timing synchronization error at the relay node. It is also shown that the proposed scheme obtains two times higher diversity gain compared with the conventional scheme at the cost of half reduction in transmission efficiency.

A Rapid Signal Acquisition Scheme for Noncoherent UWB Systems (비동기식 초광대역 시스템을 위한 고속 신호 동기획득 기법)

  • In this Paper, we propose to extend the TSS-LS(Two-Step Search scheme with Linear search based Second step) scheme which was already proposed by the authors for coherent UWB(Ultra Wide Band) systems, to rapid and reliable acquisition of noncoherent UWB systems in multipath channels. The proposed noncoherent TSS-LS employing simple energy window banks utilizes two different thresholds and search windows to achieve fast acquisition. Furthermore, the linear search is adopted for the second step in the proposed scheme to correctly find the starting point in the range of effective delay spread of the multipath channels, and to obtain reliable BER(Bit Error Rate) performance of the noncoherent UWB systems. Simulation results with multipath channel models by IEEE 802.15.3a show that the proposed two-step search scheme can achieve significant reduction of the required mean acquisition time as compared to general search schemes. ]n addition, the proposed scheme achieves quite good BER performance for large signal-to-noise ratios, which is favorably comparable to the case of ideal perfect timing.

A Non-Periodic Synchronization Algorithm using Address Field of Point-to-Point Protocol in CDMA Mobile Network (CDMA이동망에서 점대점 프로토콜의 주소영역을 이용한 비주기적 동기 알고리즘)

  • 동기식 스트림 암호통신 방식을 사용하는 암호통신에서는 암/복호화 과정 수행시 암호통신 과정에서 발생하는 사이클슬립으로 인해 키수열의 동기이탈 현상이 발생되고 이로 인해 오복호된 데이타를 얻게된다. 이러한 위험성을 감소하기 위한 방안으로 현재까지 암호문에 동기신호와 세션키를 주기적으로 삽입하여 동기를 이루는 주기적인 동기암호 통신방식을 사용하여 왔다. 본 논문에서는 CDMA(Cellular Division Multiple Access) 이동망에서 데이타서비스를 제공할 때 사용되는 점대점 프로토콜의 주소영역의 특성을 이용하여 단위 측정시간 동안 측정된 주소비트 정보와 플래그 패턴의 수신률을 이용하여 문턱 값보다 작은경우 동기신호와 세션키를 전송하는 비주기적인 동기방식을 사용하므로써 종래의 주기적인 동기방식으로 인한 전송효율성 저하와 주기적인 상이한 세션키 발생 및 다음 주기까지의 동기이탈 상태의 지속으로 인한 오류확산 등의 단점을 해결하였다. 제안된 알고리즘을 링크계층의 점대점 프로토콜(Point to Point Protocol)을 사용하는 CDMA 이동망에서 동기식 스트림 암호 통신방식에 적용시 동기이탈율 10-7의 환경에서 주기가 1sec인 주기적인 동기방식에서 요구되는 6.45x107비트에 비해 3.84x105비트가 소요됨으로써 전송율측면에서의 성능향상과 오복호율과 오복호 데이타 비트측면에서 성능향상을 얻었다. Abstract In the cipher system using the synchronous stream cipher system, encryption / decryption cause the synchronization loss (of key arrangement) by cycle slip, then it makes incorrect decrypted data. To lessen the risk, we have used a periodic synchronous cipher system which achieve synchronization at fixed timesteps by inserting synchronization signal and session key. In this paper, we solved the problem(fault) like the transfer efficiency drops by a periodic synchronous method, the periodic generations of different session key, and the incorrectness increases by continuing synchronization loss in next time step. They are achieved by the transfer of a non-periodic synchronous signal which carries synchronous signal and session key when it is less than the threshold value, analyzing the address field of point-to-point protocol, using the receiving rate of address bits information and flag patterns in the decision duration, in providing data services by CDMA mobile network. When the proposed algorithm is applied to the synchronous stream cipher system using point-to-point protocol, which is used data link level in CDMA mobile network, it has advanced the result in Rerror and Derror and in transmission rate, by the use of 3.84$\times$105bits, not 6.45$\times$107bits required in periodic synchronous method, having lsec time step, in slip rate 10-7.

  • A­MiDAS(Advanced Mobile internet Data Access System)는 북미식 IMT­2000의 동기식 이동통신 시스템에서의 단말과 인터넷 망을 연결하는 PDSN(Packet Data Serving Node) 노드의 역할과 유럽식 WCDMA 비동기 GRPS 인터넷 환경에서의 이동통신망과 인터넷 망을 연결하는 GGSN 게이트웨이 역할을 수행하는 동기/비동기 통합 게이트웨이 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 A­MiDAS의 여러 기능 중 비동기 시스템의 GGSN역할의 관점에서 사용자 세션에 대한 효율적인 관리기능의 설계와 구현에 관하여 살펴본다. 실시간으로 인터넷 서비스를 제공하기 위해 이동 통신망과 외부 인터넷 망의 접속을 위해 사용자 세션 정보를 데이터베이스 시스템을 이용하여 A­MiDAS를 구성하는 각각의 MNAB 보드와 관련된 세션정보를 이용하여 실시간 사용자 인터넷 서비스 연결방법에 따른 세션 처리 기능을 제공한다.

IS-95A CDMA 방식을 이용한 CT 시스템의 설계

  • 본 고에서는 IS-95A 방식의 CDMA PCS 시스템과 호환되는 업무용 혹은 가정용 CT 구현을 위한 방안에 관하여 논의한다. 이를 위해 CT시스템의 CDMA 물리동기 및 프레임 동기를 획득하는 방안과 PCS/CT 이중모드의 효과적인 운용 방안을 구체적으로 제시한다. 설계의 접근방식으로는 동기방식을 위주로 하였으나 비동기방식에 대해서도 논의하였다. 제안되는 CT 시스템은 주파수 재활용도를 높이는 측면에서 Upbanded IS-95A PCS 시스템의 스펙트럼 상에서 동작하고 PCS 단말내의 H/W 통신 모듈을 변형없이 그대로 사용하므로 개발기간을 단축시키고 PCS 망과의 간섭을 최소화시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Asynchronous Multiplex Digital Communication (비동기 다중 디지탈 통신에 대한 해석)

  • This paper describes a simple asynchronous time dime division multiplexing system developed by means of a synchronous delta modulation. In realizing asynchronous multlplexlng system time author deals with a technique of multiplexing communication channels by reversing the polarity of output pulse and superimposing the channels at a certain time Interval. The results of experiments on the number of error pulses, signal-to-noise ratio and frequency characteristics have shown fair agreements with the theoretically predicted ones related to the system.
