The spleen is the source of gi, blood, body fluid and plays a vital role in maintaining life. The function of the spleen is to transform food nutrients and water, and to transport them to the heart and the lung. The movement of splenic gi is marked by elevation. The spleen governs the activity of elevating the lucid. The function of transportation and transformation is usually disturbed in the state of Gi deficiency of the spleen. The main clinical manifestations of gi deficiency of the spleen can be divided into as followers: anorexia, loose stool if the digesting and absorbing functions are disturbed; phlegm and edema if dampness and water are retained due to unhealthy water metabolism. Sagunja-tang can be applied for gi deficiency syndrome of the spleen. Ingredient bakchul(Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) and bokryeung(Poria) can be used as monarch drug to eliminate dampness and strengthen the spleen.

난치성 질환인 다발성 뇌신경계 위축증으로 진단 받은 환자를 신음허, 비기허, 중풍으로 변증하고 한약 치료, 침구 치료 및 재활 치료를 시행한 결과 근력 및 연하기능이 호전된 경과를 관찰하였기에 보고하는 바이다. 향후 다발성 뇌신경계 위축증에 대한 한방치료 효과를 증명하기 위해 추가적인 증례 보고와 다양한 실험 및 임상연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

This study report the good reslut for chronic Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) patient with Herbal medication treatment and Counseling therapy. The case was a 56 years old female who worried about small matters too much. This patient treated in western medicine, However, didn't see any improvement. So, the patient admitted in our hospital. We diagnosied this patient as 'The Defiency of the Spleen energy', caused by too much thinking and concern. Herbal medication(Nokyonggunbitang)and psychotherapy applied to this patient for hospitalized 22 days. The result showed that blood platelet increased at discharged moment(37,000 / ${\mu}{\ell}$) compared with the admission time(19,000 / ${\mu}{\ell}$). The present result indicated that Herbal medication treatment and psychotherapy may play a role elevate and maintain the number of blood platelet.
