  • In this paper, we investigated the subsidence possibility and countermeasures according to the current mining method through investigation of the subsidence condition in operation mine. Most of the metal mine were broken, investigating to subsidence pattern of the Sink-hole. Coal mines are becoming more and more deep, investigating to Trough type subsidence patterns in existing mining areas. History of nonmetallic mines have not been developed for over 30 years, but large and small ground deformation problems have been investigated. Mining also has ground subsidence functionality due to time dependence by relying more heavily on empirical methods than technical methods. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out the various researches on systematic development method and prevention of subsidence of nonmetallic mines.

  • This paper aims to present the evaluation of engineering characteristics and reusing possibility of waste powders produced in dolomite and limestone nonmetal mining by physical and mechanical experiments on compaction, uniaxial compressive strength, permeability, chemical composition, and so on. Granite soil, 2 types of limestone waste powder, and 1 type of dolomite waste powder were used for main materials, and cement and bentonite were used for admixed materials in this experiments. The findings based on the experimental results are the severe difference of chemical composition of the dolomite & limestone waste powder and the crushed rock waste powder, and the outstanding of engineering characteristics of the dolomite waste powder with high content of MgO compared with the limestone waste powder. The engineering properties on compaction, uniaxial compressive strength, and permeability are enhanced with increase of admixed ratio of waste powder on granite soil. From the experimental results, it can be suggested that the dolomite waste powder admixed with in-situ granite soil is useful as geo-materials with considering of distribution costs.

  • We propose public-oriented e-Marketplace framework construction that activates efficiently transaction of non-metal industrial resources through the case of Mineralland. The firms of Non-metal industrial resources domain have low information level and weak capital structure. So public enterprise has to construct e-marketplace to trade using exact market information. This framework consists of five domains-contents, commerces, communities, collaboration and electronic authentication. To draw this framework, we review many web-sites and literatures about B2B of industrial resources domain. In addition, this study provides practical implications and guidelines for activating public oriented e-Marketplace of non metal industrial resources.

  • There have been found mine tailings, wastes, and mining drainage scattered in the area of Nakdong River due to the improper maintenance of the abandoned mines. These contaminants can flow into rivers during the heavy rain periods in summer. Along the study area beginning Seokpo-myeon, Bonghwa-gun of Gyeongsangbuk-do untill Dosan-myeon, Andong-si, there are one hundred five mines including sixty metalliferous mines and forty-five nonmetal mines, which can adversely affect the adjacent rivers. To verify the contamination, we collected sediments, seepage water and surface water for a year both in rainy season and dry season. This study found that sediments, containing high concentrations of heavy metals caused by mining activities, are dispersed throughout the entire river basin (68 sample points with pollution index, based on the concentration of trace element, (PI) >10 among the total of 101 samples). The results of river water analysis indicated the increased concentrations of arsenic and cadmium at branches from Seungbu, Sambo, Okbang and Janggun mine, which concerns that the river water may be contaminated by mining drainage and tailing sediments. However, it is difficult to sort out the exact sources of contamination in sediments and waters only by using the chemical compositions. Thus the control of mining pollution is challenging. To prevent water from being contaminated by mining activities, we should be able to divide inflow rates from each origin of the mines. Therefore, there should be a continued study about how to trace the source of contaminants from mining activities by analyzing stable isotopes.

  • We have verified applicability of UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) photogrammetry to a mining engineering. The test mine is a smectite mine located at Gyeongju city in Gyeongnam province, Koera. 448 photos over area of $600m{\times}380m$ were taken with overlapped manner using Cannon Mark VI equipped to multicopter DJI S1000, which were processed with AgiSoft Photoscan software to generate orthophoto and DEM model of the study area. photogrammetry data with 10 cm resolution were generated using 6 ground control positions, which were exported to the 3D geological modeling software to make a topographic surface object. Monitoring of amount of ore production and landsliding could be done with less than 1 hours photographing as well as low cost. A direct link between UAV photogrammetry and 3D geological modeling technology might increase productivity of a mine due to appling the topographical surface change immediately according to the mining operation.

  • GPR is used for non-destructive investigations, ground investigations, and underground facilities exploration at construction sites. In this study, the applicability to GPR exploration of water pipes linked to Network RTK was presented. Data on the water supply pipes in the study site were acquired using GPR, and the location and depth of buried water pipes could be measured. The accuracy was evaluated from the GNSS observation performance and showed a deviation of -0.16m ~ 0.15m. This satisfied the equipment performance of the public survey work regulation, suggesting that the exploration of water pipes using GPR is possible. Because GPR does not require grounding installation, as in conventional metal pipe detectors, it will increase the efficiency of work for underground facility exploration. Exploration using GPR can acquire the location and depth of metallic and non-metallic underground facilities, so it can be utilized in the construction of a GIS system. If a comparison of the exploration characteristics is carried out, it will be possible to present various uses of underground facility exploration using GPR.

  • This study aims to review the research trend of articles published in the journal of Economic and Environmental Geology(EEG) over a period of 50 years from 1968 to 2017. Based on the literature review, Research theme as analytical criteria was adopted. 1,886 academic articles were analyzed and classified by decade, by change period of journal name, and by volume(in sets of 10 volumes). Results indicate that from the foundation of journal to the present, the article in the field of petrology and geochemistry covers the highest proportion as 30.4%, the next best things are in the fields of metallic ore deposit(18.3%) and geophysics and exploration(14.9%). Based on the change period of journal name, the field of petrology and geochemistry have the most obvious difference in the number of articles. Until 1993 as before the change of journal name from Mining Geology to Economic and Environmental Geology, the coverage percentage in the field of petrology and geochemistry is 21.5%(N=121). However, after 1994 changed to Economic and Environmental Geology, the coverage percentage in the field of petrology and geochemistry is 34.1%(N=452). According to the analytical result in case of volume and research theme, the number of articles in the field of petrology and geochemistry have the abrupt increase from the volume number in 21 to 30. However, the number of articles in the field of metallic and nonmetallic ore deposit have the decreasing tendency toward the recent volume. In order to explore again the 50 years history of Economic and Environmental Geology, we mainly analyzed the articles quantitatively using the criteria as research theme. Based on these analyses, this review aims to offer the beginning for the exploration of the development subject in the future.
