A Stot Change Detection Algorithm using Otsu Threshold and Frame Segmentation (Otsu 임계값 설정과 프레임 블록화를 이용한 샷 전환 탐지)

  • 본 논문에서는 프레임 블록화와 Otsu 임계값 설정 방법을 이용한 샷 전환 탐지 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 연속된 두 프레임을 일정 크기의 영역으로 분할하여 두 프레임 간 대응되는 영역의 히스토그램 차이를 이용해 샷 전환을 탐지한다. 또한 각 영상마다 Otsu 임계값 설정 방법을 이용하여 자동으로 임계값을 설정한다. 제안 방법의 실험은 영화, 드라마, 애니메이션 등 다양한 영상에 대해 테스트되었으며, 기 연구된 샷 전환 탐지 알고리즘과 비교 시 우수한 탐지율을 보였다.

  • 오늘날 인터넷이 보편화되었고, 최근에는 최근에는 코로나19 유행으로 사람들이 집에 머무르는 시간이 많아지면서 여러 온라인 플랫폼을 통해 영화, 드라마 등의 프로그램을 시청하는 것에 관심이 많아지고 있다. 또한, 그러한 시대적 흐름에 따라 시즌제 형식의 시리즈물을 통해 보다 퀄리티 높은 콘텐츠를 보고자 하는 소비자 니즈도 증가하고 있다. 시리즈물은 전편과 속편이 유기적으로 연결되기 때문에 전편의 리뷰를 분석하여 관객의 니즈를 파악하고 그것을 속편에 반영하는 것이 중요해 보인다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 텍스트 분류를 통해 시리즈물의 전편과 속편 리뷰의 긍정 유사도를 비교하고, 나아가 긍정 유사도가 흥행 성적에 유의미한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다.

  • 국내 문화 예술 산업에서 게임과 관련된 음악 혹은 OST가 드라마, 영화, 애니메이션 등의 타 장르와는 다르게 국내의 미디어 매체에서 언급과 노출이 비교적 적은 편이다. 게임을 소비하는 일부 이용자를 제외한 일반적인 대중은 게임 음악을 접할 기회가 많지 않기 때문에 게임 음악은 여전히 문화 예술이 아닌 게임 음악이라는 틀 안에 갇혀 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내 온라인 게임과 관련된 음악의 상업성에 대해 분석하고 게임 음악이 하나의 음악 장르로 자리를 잡기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study of Aleksandr Vampilov's Play and Film (알렉산드르 밤필로프 희곡의 영상화 연구 《9월의 휴가》를 중심으로)

  • "Duck Hunting" is the most psychological play with unique structure written by Aleksandr Vampilov. The play describes protagonist hero's furious behavior with psychological instability, therefore, this play tends to be recognized as serious and complicated one. After the death of Vampilov, "Duck Hunting" was reproduced as a film, titled as "Vacation in September." This study is designed to shed light on the play's psychological-dramatic factors by focusing on the structure of narrative and spatial-temporal objet. Also, this study compared the screenshots of the play with their textual meanings, then concentrated on main character's psychological features. By focusing on protagonist hero's mind, this study tries to look into the features of the play and its meanings for modern period. The film's plot is a kind of story telling structure based on main character's memory. The short stories of main character represents that Jilov(main character's name)'s losing his own life. The audience can acknowledge that Jilov's life as a duck hunter who is cynical, ideological, lazy, and self-interest oriented person. This play provokes the audience to compare their life to Jilov's one because such comparison helps the audience recognize their lives as surplus style of life with nihilism. Jilov as a character represents one of Soviet's generation with the feeling of great loss in 1960s.

  • In 1920s, Russian society was unstable and tremendous. After the 1917 Revolution, Russian government had initiated "New Economic Policy" embedded in a partial market system in these times. Also, Russian culture had been exposed to a new trend of culture, for instance, Russian Modernism. In the field of Russian literature, satirical comedy became very popular. One of famous satirical comedy writers was V. Mayakovsky who was trying to express his ideal society which consisted of both tensions and harmonies between the old and the new periods. In this context, V. Mayakovsky was recognized as a poet with futurism who loved to write a comedy expressing social suburbanity and governmental bureaucracy. His two comedies, "Bug" and "Bath" were his famous comedies, dealing with Russian modernistic historics and theatricality in 1920s. In this article, authors try to look into their artistic characteristics of 1920s Russian literature involving a new trend of social change, for instance, Grotesque and Tragicomic features. In the same context, this article focused on its inner dilemma of satirical comedy which had been existed in 1920s Russian literature.

Detection of Video Cut Using Autocorrelation Function and Edge Histogram (자기상관과 에지 히스토그램을 이용한 동영상 전환점 검출)

  • While the management of digital contents is getting more and more important, many researchers have studied about scene change detection algorithms to reduce similar scenes in the video contents and to efficiently summarize video data. The algorithms using histogram and pixel information are found out as being sensitive to light changes and motion. Therefore, visual rhythm gets used in recent work to solve this problem, which shows some characteristics of scenes and requires even less computational power. In this paper, a new scene detection algorithm using visual rhythm by direction is proposed. The proposed algorithm needs less computational power and is able to keep good performance even in the scenes with motion. Experimental results show the performance improvement of about 30% comparing with conventional methods with histogram. They also show that the proposed algorithm is able to keep the same performance even to music video contents with lots of motion.

A shot change detection algorithm based on frame segmentation and object movement (프레임 블록화와 객체의 이동을 이용한 샷 전환 탐지 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a shot change detection algorithm by using frame segmentation and the object changes among moving blocks. In order to detect the rapid moving changes of objects between two consecutive frames, the moving blocks on the diagonal are defined, and their histograms are calculated. When a block of the current frame is compared to the moving blocks of the next frame, the block histograms are used and the threshold of a shot change detection is automatically adjusted by Otsu's threshold method. The proposed algorithm was tested for the various types of color or gray videos such as films, dramas, animations, and video tapes in National Archives of Korea. The experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm could enhance the detection rate when compared to the studied methods that use brightness, histogram, or segmentation.

  • 본 논문에서는 등장 인물 검출 및 인식과 함께 등장 인물의 출연 구간 분석이 가능한 시스템을 제안한다. 드라마, 스포츠와 같은 방송 비디오는 그 특성상 인물이 중심이 되며 각 시점에 등장하는 주요 인물은 방송용 비디오의 중요한 특징이 된다. 따라서 방송용 비디오의 중요한 특징인 등장 인물을 분석하여 효율적인 비디오 관리 시스템을 개발할 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안된 ACAV(Automatic Characters Analysis in Videos) 시스템은 등장 인물을 검출하여 인물 DB에 등록하는 FAGIS(FAce reGIStration)와 생성된 인물 DB을 이용하여 등장 인물을 분석하는 FACOG(FAce reCOGnition)로 구성된다. 상용화된 등장 인물 분석 시스템인 FaceIt과의 성능 비교를 통해 ACAV의 성능을 검증하였다. 얼굴 검출 실험에서 ACAV의 얼굴 검출률은 84.3%로 FaceIt 보다 약 30% 높았고, 얼굴 인식 실험에서도 ACAV의 얼굴 인식률은 75.7%로 FaceIt 보다 27.5% 높은 성능을 보였다. ACAV 시스템은 방송 멀티미디어 공급자를 위한 대용량 비디오 관리 시스템으로 이용될 수 있으며 일반 사용자를 대상으로 한 PVR(Personal Video Recorder), 모바일 폰 등의 비디오 관리 시스템으로도 이용될 수 있다.

A Comparative Study on Qipao Design in Chinese TV Drama and (중국 TV드라마 <상해탄(上海滩)>과 <신상해탄(新上海滩)>의 치파오 디자인 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare the shapes, colors, patterns, and hairstyles of Qipao worn by heroines that were reconstructed over times, in a Chinese TV Drama set in the 1930s and televised in 1980 and remade in 2007. We investigated how the Qipao was reinterpreted. The results were as follows. First, in televised in 1980, Qipao borrowed the characteristics of Jing Pai Qipao, which became popular in Beijing. Jing Pai Qipao was characterized by a roomy and loose silhouette that does not expose a body line, Chinese traditional 5 colors, simple plain patterns and Chinese traditional flower patterns. For hairstyle, twist and permanent wave styles that were popular in the Republican Period were very common. On the other hand, in televised in 2007, Qipao was a Hai Pai style that was very popular in Shanghai in the 1930s. Hai Pai Qipao was characterized by a tight silhouette fitted to the body, various colors such as purple and beige other than the 5 colors, Western flower patterns and modern geometric patterns. Hairstyle was changed from bang hair to a permanent wave. Second, while had a modern reinterpretation of Jing Pai Qipao that was very popular in Beijing, rather than Hai Pai Qipao that became popular in Shanghai in the 1930s, used Hai Pai Qipao that was popular in Shanghai in the 1930s. In particular, demonstrated how the mass media should reinterpret past clothing by thoroughly studying and reflecting Shanghai Qipao in the 1930s and adding viewers' aesthetic taste of 2007 without damaging an original. Moreover, it confirmed that clothing can function as language and symbol within the mass media by connecting the color and pattern of Qipao with characters' traits and the plot. It suggests that was more advanced than filmed in the 1980s. The findings of this study might provide useful data to costume designers who reinterpret costumes from a new angle.

Exploring the Genres and Cast Portions' Influences on Broadcasting Entertainers' Professional Consciousness and Program Awareness (장르와 배역 크기에 따른 방송 연예인의 직업의식과 프로그램 의식 고찰)

  • This study examines popular entertainers' professionalism with division of genres and cast portions. While genres can be divided into TV drama and variety show, cast portion into leading, supporting, and minor role. Entertainers' thought is categorized into their professional consciousness and their program awareness. By this division and categorization, this study grasps concretely how genres and cast portions affect entertainers' ideas. We conducted a survey on one hundred entertainers in TV dramas and variety shows and have analyzed data by using n-way ANOVA. This study also conducted in-depth interview as a research method by which we intended to enhance validity of the result. The results provide that genres and cast portions affected on entertainers' professional consciousness and their program awareness. In terms of professional consciousness, significant result was drawn on thoughts of discrimination, community, vocation, and satisfaction. In terms of their program awareness, affection, accountability, ownership, and anxiety consciousness were significant. With this result, this study provides implications both theoretical aspect and practical aspect. On theoretical aspect, this study broadens celebrity studies beyond star studies, and attempts to categorize entertainers theoretically. On practical aspect, it provides reconsideration on broadcasting condition, and suggests solving the problem of gap among entertainers.
