Progressive Silhouette Rendering using Level-of-Detail Meshes (다단계 메쉬를 이용한 점진적 실루엣 렌더링)

  • 실루엣 에지를 찾거나 디스플레이하는 것은 컴퓨터 비전에서부터 비사실적인 렌더링(nonphotorealistic rendering)에 이르기까지 여러 응용분야에서 중요한 의미를 가진다. NPR(nonphotorealistic rendering)에서 가장 초점을 두는 것은 컴퓨터로 렌더링된 결과가 사람이 그린듯한 효과를 줄 수 있느냐에 있다. 본 논문에서는 점진적 메쉬와 실루엣 에지 렌더링을 통해 사람이 임의의 객체를 점진적으로 스케치하는 효과를 보여 줄 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 다단계 메쉬 생성은 대용량의 메쉬를 효율적으로 다루기 위한 것으로 점진적인 렌더링이나 전송, 상세도, 제어 등에 이용되는 기술이다. 메쉬 간략화에서는 볼륨과 정계를 보존 할 수 있는 간략화 기법을 이용하였다. 간략화 수행시 원본 메쉬에 대한 히스토리를 저장할 수 있는 점진적 메쉬(Progressive Mesh)구조를 구성한 뒤 기본메쉬를 점진적으로 상세하게 해 나감으로써 실루엣 렌더링을 수행하게 된다. 실루엣 에지에 대해 파라미터화된 브러쉬 함수(Parameterized Brush Functions)를 적용하여 다양한 스타일로 점진적인 스케칭 효과를 낼 수 있는 기법을 제시한다.

Novel Design of Brushless and Sensorless Vibration Motor Used for Cell-Phones (새로운 형태의 휴대폰용 브러쉬리스 센서리스 진동모터의 설계)

  • With the wide use of mobile phones, a paging signal by a sound transducer acts as an environmental noise on many occasions, thus necessitating an alternative paging signal by a vibration motor. Conventional vibration motors employ three-phase windings with mechanical brushes for commutation. In this paper, a new one-phase brushless and sensorless vibration motor is introduced utilizing digital signal processor chips in cell-phones. For electromagnetic field analysis, two-dimensional modeling can be implemented to determine the back electromotive force using axisymmetric boundary conditions. Geometric design parameters, such as coil pitch and magnet pitch. are considered for performance optimization. Through the experiments, it is shown that the proposed design has the equivalent performance with reduced number of parts, thus enhancing manufacturing productivity and reducing manufacturing cost.

  • This paper presents a new method for removing reaching phase in variable structure control systems using Bell type switching function. By proposed method, during the entire control process reaching phase is removed. For effective speed control of trapezoidal type brushless DC motor, a time varying switching function based speed controller is developed as illustration.

A Study on the Removal of Algae by a Mechanical Screw Brush Cone Filter (기계식 스크루 브러쉬 콘필터를 이용한 조류 제거에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to estimate the removal efficiency of algae by a mechanical Screw Brush Cone Filter in a lake. The device used a stainless steel cone-shaped filter with a screw brush. The ability of the developed device to remove algae larger than $20{\mu}m$ in Lake ChaSa, Gwangyang city was tested from August to September 2014. The results show that the removal rates for chlorophyll-a, suspended solids and volatile suspended solids were 44-87%(mean 61%), 35-54%(mean 40%), and 37-46%(mean 43%), respectively. This study also discusses equipment and device operation costs and device application problems, and suggests in situ. solutions to these problems.

  • Blades of wind energy plants are exposed to external shocks or internal cracks during operation. Furthermore, the blade surfaces can be contaminated by substances such as dust, blood of birds, salt or insects which can decrease the electricity generation efficiency significantly. For this reason, many blade cleaning companies started to appear and a variety of methods for cleaning were suggested. Despite these diverse methods, there has been no study to investigate how effectively to clean the substances in quantitative manner. In this paper, the cleaning efficiency of two rotor blade cleaning methods, brush and water-jet, is examined through experiments by changing operating parameters. Then, the optimal operating conditions for both methods are derived.

  • The interior noise generated by the windshield wiper system including a wiper motor, the motor mountings and linkages is considered as a structure-borne noise. The structureborne noise is closely related with the system vibration which was transmitted into interior cabin through the car body. In this study, the frequency characteristics of vibration in the wiper motor system were first identified through the frequency analysis. Then effects of the wiper motor mountings and linkages on the vehicle interior noise were studied through in-vehicle measurements. Finally a possibility of noise reduction at a certain frequency was revealed from the study.

  • In this paper, a controller design for brushless linear motor is proposed. The designed controller is mainly composed of speed and current controller, which are carried out by the high-speed digital signal processor(DSP). In addition the PWM inverter is controlled by space voltage PWM method. This system is implemented using by 32-bit DSP(TMS320C31), a high-integrated logic device(EPM7128), and IPM(Intelligent Power Module) for compact and powerful system design. The experimental results show the effective performance of controller for the brushless linear motor.

  • The direct drive motor is directly coupled by load. So, it is directly affected by load and disturbances. To control the direct drive motor, a robust controller is need. The main feature of variable structure system is that system trajectories are robust and insensitive to parameter variations and disturbances in the sliding mode. In this paper, adaptive variable structure controller, is used for the BLDD SM(Brushless Direct Drive Servo Motor) control. The chattering problem is reduced by using the saturation function.

  • This paper is analyzed the characteristic of multi-phase inverter for the electric propulsion system. Two BLDC motors with 3 and 7 phases are designed with these features in order to simulate the effect of increasing the number of phases. From the simulation results, the 7-phase given better performance in terms of torque pulsation. Also, the torque pulsation can be reduced further by increasing the number of phases.

  • This paper decribes multi-phase BLDC motor with a minimum torque pulsation among BLDC motor used for electric propulsion system. Multi-phase BLDC motor has characteristic that phase of stator has more than 3-phase. This paper is modeling two type of BLDC motor, one has 3-phase and the other has 7-phase, and it shows simulation of them comparing its characteristics. As a result of simulation, the 7-phase BLDC motor shows better performance in terms of torque pulsation. It is also found that the torque pulsation is reduced further by increasing the number of phase.
