Modern consumers, unlike those of the past, are trending towards individual consumption that satisfies emotion and values instead of simple goal-oriented consumption. A model case is that of Starbucks. Starbucks has grown into the global coffee franchise it is today through emotional marketing that sells an atmosphere that is unique to Starbucks, consisting of store decorations, store music, employee service, and charming coffee aromas that are identical in every store anywhere in the world. Because this method is marketing that stimulates human emotion, it is assigned to and appeals to human senses and sensitivity. In other words, the charm of emotion marketing is that it draws out consumer emotion, produces positive reactions towards products, and leads to consumption. The utilization of emotions for products or service differentiates brand image and is becoming a key method in reinforcing brand royalty. In particular, more importance is being placed on customer service to strongly impress consumers. Intangible service is becoming the best way to impress customers.

As a result, the main factor which consumers consider when they purchase a product is the quality but the factor for brands (NB or PB) do not have an effect on their purchasing.

  • This study investigated the effects of negative emotions like Personal Information Concern and Ad Irritation, arising from the growth of Personalized Advertising, on Purchase Intention. It revealed that while Personal Information Concern significantly impacts Ad Irritation and Brand Avoidance, it doesn't affect Ad Avoidance. Ad Irritation influences Ad Avoidance but not Brand Avoidance or Purchase Intention. Both Ad Avoidance and Brand Avoidance negatively impact Purchase Intention. The study also found that Ad Irritation mediates the relationship between Personal Information Concern and Ad Avoidance, but not between Personal Information Concern and Brand Avoidance. Furthermore, Ad Avoidance mediates between Ad Irritation and Purchase Intention, unlike Brand Avoidance. These outcomes highlight the need for further research, particularly considering the MZ Generation's traits.
