  • This study aims to examine the future image of the fashion industry according to the level of consumer knowledge and anxiety about the 4th industrial revolution. An online survey was carried out from March 13 to 23, 2018. A total of 698 consumers participated in the survey. The results of the study are as follows. The consumer knowledge level about the 4th industrial revolution was 10.2% for the first recognition, 48.3% for the term recognition, and 41.5% for the content understanding. The level of consumer anxiety about the 4th industrial revolution was 36.5% lower than average and 63.5% higher than the average. An ANOVA was conducted to confirm the anxiety according to the knowledge level of the 4th industrial revolution. The results revealed that consumers with higher knowledge level felt more anxiety than consumers with a lower level of knowledge. Consumer's knowledge level about the 4th industrial revolution did not affect the future image of fashion industry and individual phases of the fashion industry. Consumer's anxiety level about the 4th industrial revolution had a partial influence on the future image of the fashion industry and on each phase of the fashion industry. In the midstream and downstream areas of the fashion industry, significant differences were observed in the future image according to the level of anxiety.

  • This study examined the possibility of clustering using 5-year-old children's basic learning ability and mothers' achievement expectation anxiety, and compared the impact of the children's self-regulation ability and mothers' learning involvement for each cluster. The subjects were 239 children (120 boys & 119 girls) aged 5 and attending 9 kindergartens in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon, and also their mothers. The collected data were analyzed using non-hierarchical (K-means) cluster analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis. The findings of this study were as follows. First, the mother-child pairs were classified into four clusters of 'high learning ability-high expectation anxiety', 'high learning ability-low expectation anxiety', 'low learning ability-low expectation anxiety', or 'low learning ability-high expectation anxiety'group. Second, the level of child's self-monitoring, self-control, and mother's respect and love were significantly higher in the 'high learning ability-low expectations anxiety' group than the 'low learning ability-high expectation anxiety' group. Also, pressure for academic achievement was higher in the 'high learning ability-high expectation anxiety' group than the 'low learning ability-low expectations anxiety' group. Third, child's self-monitoring, mother's pressure for academic achievement, home learning activities, and respect/love for child predicted the clustering using children's basic learning ability and mothers' achievement expectation anxiety.

  • Introduction : A positive thinking has been known to affect the enhancement of performance. One of temperament characters, harm avoidance is thought to be associated with anxiety related behaviors. Golfer showed highest anxiety and lowest score of harm avoidance, compared to any other sports. We hypothesized that positive feedback and reinforcement in golfer would decrease the anxiety and improve the performance. Methods : Fifty one golfers with the age from 15 to 19 were classified into two groups; 25 golfers who used Zinsser's Changing Negative thoughts to Positive thoughts and Beswick's positive self talk when exercise and competition (P-FB) and 26 golfers who had not (controls). Harm avoidance, Spielberg's Trait and State Anxiety, and Golf scores has been assessed at baseline and 6 months later. Results : There was no significant difference in baseline harm avoidance, anxiety, and golf scores between P-FB and controls. The total golf scores in both groups have improved after 6 month later. However, P-FB group showed greater improvement of total scores and putting scores, compared to controls. The state anxiety in PFB group has been decreased, while there was no change in controls. The change in the state anxiety was correlated with harm avoidance and the change in total golf scores. Discussions : The positive thinking has enhanced performance and state anxiety. The improvement of performance and anxiety in golfers was associated with high harm avoidance. The current study showed that the regulation of anxiety with positive thinking was helpful to the performance enhancement in subject with high harm avoidance.

  • Introduction The aim of this study, personal trait and their dental care based on experience level of dental fear is to analyze the differences. Catastrophizing is an irrational belief that something is far worse than it actually is. Because it makes it possible to analyze patients' anxious thoughts and tendencies. Methods The Dental Fear Survey(DFS) and Anxious Thoughts and Tendencies(AT&T) were used as measuring tools, and the independent sample t-test and ANOVA were performed on the basis of the mean value of the summated scale scores and the standard deviation. On the factors to dental anxiety, the multiple regression analysis was performed. Results Demographically, the total DFS score was higher in women($25.73{\pm}8.27$) than in men. Also, AT&T was higher in women($31.01{\pm}7.05$) (p<0.05). Dental fear was intense in the group of patients who visited dental clinics only problems($25.29{\pm}8.57$) than in those regular visited($22.29{\pm}7.78$). In relation to dental experiences, the DFS score was significantly higher in children. In many cases, patients experienced therapeutic pains in children($26.40{\pm}9.54$) (p=0.004). Also in many patients, dental anxiety began to occur in adolescence(44.3%). The multiple regression analysis result, it was found that dental treatment pain and their AT&T wielded great influence upon dental fear.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between behavioral inhibition, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and social anxiety among Korean middle school students. In addition, we examined whether ambivalence over emotional expressiveness mediated the relationship between behavioral inhibition and social anxiety. For this aim, we conducted a survey of 357 first-third grade students from 6 middle schools located in the cities of Wonju, Seoul, Suwon, Suncheon, and Kwangju. Survey data was analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and Sobel test using the SPSS/WIN 19.0 program. Results were as follows: First, there was a positive correlation between behavioral inhibition and social anxiety on ambivalence over emotional expressiveness. Second, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness was found to partially mediate the relationships between behavioral inhibition and interpersonal anxiety as well as performance anxiety. In other words, while behavioral inhibition tends to affect interpersonal anxiety and performance anxiety in a very direct way, it also influences them indirectly by increasing the ambivalence over emotional expressiveness. These results suggest that counseling of middle school students with social anxiety due to innate behavioral inhibition should seek to reduce their social anxiety by decreasing their ambivalence over emotional expressiveness.

  • This study analyzes the correlation between the library anxiety and personality traits. The library anxiety (LAS) and personality traits (the Korean BFI) were measured against 49 freshmen in the university. The library anxiety was average 2.57, 'mechanical barriers' score was the highest(2.91), subsequently was 'affective barriers' 2.72, 'barriers with staff' 2.49, 'knowledge of library' 2.42, and 'comfort with the library' score was the lowest(2.38). The personality traits had the tendency that 'agreeableness'f actor(3.65) is higher than other 4 factors, 'neuroticism'(3.48), 'extraversion'(3.27), 'openness'(2.85), and 'conscientiousness' (3.26). It found that 'comfort with the library' and 'neuroticism' were correlated statistically and the personality traits have an effect on library anxiety. Based on the findings, the following recommendations are made: improving the measurement tool of information anxiety, using other personality traits variables in similar researches, and developing personalized library anxiety resolution programs.

  • In this study, the effects of grouping by communication apprehension level in cooperative learning strategy applied to general science class and the difference between high and low communication apprehension levels were investigated. Three classes (N=112) were randomly assigned to two cooperative and one traditional learning groups. Students in two cooperative learning classes were grouped into homogeneous and heterogeneous groups with respect to their communication apprehension levels based on the test score of students' communication apprehension. After the instructions concerning the matter for 11 class hours, achievement, self-esteem, motivation to learn science. and student's perception to lack about communication ability and expectation about receiving help in cooperative learning processes were examined. Two-way ANOVA results revealed that there were no main and interactive effects in the scores of the achievement test. However, significant main effect of the treatment was found in the scores of the relevance and the satisfaction among four motivation sub-categories. In post-hoc comparison, the scores of the heterogeneous group were found to be significantly higher than those of the control group. For expectation about receiving help in cooperative learning processes, the scores of the heterogeneous group were significantly higher than those of the homogeneous group. Students in high communication apprehension level had significantly lower self-esteem and more perception to lack about communication ability than students in low level.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to examine the point prevalence of anxiety, depression and the associated risk factors in hospitalized patients with cancer. Methods: A total of 114 patients with cancer who admitted to the Cancer Center in St. Mary's Hospital were enrolled for a day. The patients were asked to complete Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS). Sociodemographic and cancer related clinical variables were also evaluated. Results: The point prevalence of anxiety and depression was 10.5% and 34.2%, respectively, as assessed with HADS. Logistic regression models revealed that distant metastasis was significantly associated with anxiety in patients with cancer and previous chemotherapy and Low socioeconomic status were significantly associated with depression. Conclusions: Our results indicate that more than one third of patients with cancer suffer from either anxiety or depression. In addition, previous chemotherapy as well as low socioeconomic status and distant metastasis were associated risk factors of anxiety and depression, respectively. These findings suggest the need for screening and systematized psychosocial intervention for psychological distress in hospitalized patients with cancer.
