Variable Input Gshare Predictor based on Interrelationship Analysis of Instructions (명령어 연관성 분석을 통한 가변 입력 gshare 예측기)

  • Branch history is one of major input vectors in branch prediction. Therefore, the Proper use of branch history plays a critical role of improving branch prediction accuracy. To improve branch prediction accuracy, this paper proposes a new branch history management policy, based on interrelationship analysis of instructions. First of all, we propose three different algorithms to analyze the relationship: register-writhing method, branch-reading method, and merged method. Then we additionally propose variable input gshare predictor as an implementation of these algorithms. In simulation part, we provide performance differences among the algorithms and analyze their characteristics. In addition, we compare branch prediction accuracy between our proposals and conventional fixed input predictors. The performance comparison for optimal input branch predictor is also provided.

  • Railway turnout systems play a key role in railway systems that change train directions. The turnout systems are one of the weakest systems in railway systems, and consecutive maintenance is required. A turnout diagnostic system can automatically measure the turnout status and its deterioration. To diagnose the turnout systems, we follow conventional maintenance procedures and need to identify their physical characteristics to coincide the procedures and the characteristics. According to the physical characteristics, we should choose and install adequate sensors on the turnout systems to measure their physical characteristics. We studied the phenomenon of the turnout system responses for point moving and train running on the turnout systems. We installed sensors on the turnout system in a revenue line to measure the identified physical quantities and to reveal the robustness of the sensors under the turnout system environment.

A Bifurcation Analysis of Space Structures by Using 3D Beam-Column Element Considering Finite Deformations and Bowing Effect (유한변형과 굽힘효과가 고려된 3차원 보-기둥요소에 의한 공간구조물의 분기좌굴해석)

  • The present paper briefly describes the space frame element and the fundamental strategies in computational elastic bifurcation theory of geometrically nonlinear, single load parameter conservative elastic spatial structures. A method for large deformation(rotation) analysis of space frame is based on an eulerian formulation, which takes into consideration the effects of large joint translations and rotations with finite deformation(rotation). The local member force-deformation relationships are based on the beam-column approach, and the change in member chord lengths caused by axial strain and flexural bowing are taken into account. and the derived geometric stiffness matrix is unsymmetric because of the fact that finite rotations are not commutative under addition. To detect the singular point such as bifurcation point, an iterative pin-pointing algorithm is proposed. And the path switching mode for bifurcation path is based on the non-negative eigen-value and it's corresponding eigen-vector. Some numerical examples for bifurcation analysis are carried out for a plane frame, plane circular arch and space dome structures are described.

Detecting suspicious branch statements through recording and analyzing execution logs of apps using reflection (리플렉션이 사용된 앱의 실행 로그 기록 및 분석을 통한 의심스러운 분기문 탐지)

  • In Logic Bomb, the conditions of branch statements that trigger malicious behavior cannot be detected in advance, making Android malicious app analysis difficult. Various studies have been conducted to detect potentially suspicious branch statements that can be logic bombs and triggers, but suspicious branch statements cannot be properly detected in apps that contain information determined at runtime, such as reflection. In this paper, we propose a tool that can detect suspicious branch statements even when reflection is used in Android apps. It works through recording app execution logs and analyzing the recorded log). The proposed tool can check the relationship between the called method and the branch statement by recording and analyzing the user-defined methods, Java APIs called and method information called through reflection, and branch information in the log while the Android app is running. Experimental results show that suspicious branch statements can be detected even in apps where reflection is used.

Effect of widening excavation in divergence section of a double-deck tunnel on its stability (복층터널 분기구 확폭구간 굴착에 따른 안정성 영향)

  • The divergence section of a double-deck tunnel can be divided into a 'widening pre-divergence section', a large cross-section with a cap shape and a 'post-divergence section' where the separation between the main and the branch tunnel is made. Since the cross-section of the widening pre-divergence section is considerably larger than that of the post-divergence section, the influence of excavation due to the different sizes and shapes in the cross-section should be considered in the examination of the tunnel stability. In this study, the effect of the preceding excavation, that is the excavation of the widening pre-divergence section, on excavation stability of the post-divergence section was examined by varying the excavation methods and bench lengths through 3D finite element analysis. The results showed that although the effects of the excavation methods and the bench lengths are not significant on the variation of principal stresses, the preceding excavation causes a relatively large variation on the stresses which may have an impact on the stability of the post-divergence section from the comparison of Stress-Strength Ratio (SSR) between the cases with and without the consideration of the preceding excavation effect by 2D finite element analysis.

  • 코드 포인터 공격을 이용한 제어 흐름은 실행 중에 간접 분기의 무결성을 검사하는 것으로 보호할 수 있다. 간접 분기는 반복되는 목적지 주소로의 분기인 경우가 많지만, 목적지 주소는 실행 시간에만 알 수 있기 때문에 여러 가지 예외적인 상황을 적절히 대처할 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 동적 이진 계측화를 활용하여 실행 중 발생하는 간접 분기를 분석하고, 수집한 주소들을 빠르게 비교하는데 효과적인 주소 비교 기법들을 제시한다. 또한 각 기법을 비교하여 프로그램에 따라 주소 비교의 효율성을 극대화하는 방안을 모색하였다. 이러한 기법을 통해 간접 분기가 야기하는 여러 문제점에서부터 보안 분야에 이르기 까지 활용 범위를 넓힐 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

해운이슈 - 해운시황 침체로 중소신조선 시황 어려움 지속 예상

  • 2011년도 3분기까지 전 세계 수주량은 전년동기 대비 감소하였으나 고부가 선박 시장의 활성화로 수주액을 증가하였다. 전세계 수주량은 전녕동기 대비 22.3% 감소한 2,356만CGT로 집계되었고 3분기 신조선가는 전분기 2point 하락하는 등 전반적인 약세를 나타냈다. 국내 중소 조선산업의 3분기까지 수주는 전년 동기대비 소폭 증가하였으나 중대형 조선소 위주의 수주에 그쳤다. 국내 중소 조선산업의 3분기말 수주잔량은 전분기 대비 10.5% 감소하였으며 건조톤수는 전년동기 대비 10.8% 감소하였다. 3분기 벌크선 운임, 용선료, 탱커 운임 및 용선료 등 관련 해운지표들이 대부분 하락 추세를 보이고 있다. 전반적인 해운시황 침체로 중소 신조선 시황도 어려움이 지속될 전망이며, 어려운 시기일수록 연비 고효율화 등 신기술이 경쟁력의 가장 중요한 요인이 될 수 있으므로 장기적인 안목에서 이에 대비하여야 할 것이다. 다음은 한국수출입은행 해외경제연구소 산업투자조사실에서 발표한 "중소조선산업 2011년도 3분기 동향"의 주요 내용을 정리 요약한 것이다.

  • 2/4분기에는 전반적인 경기가 다소 회복될 것으로 전망되고 있는 가운데 인쇄업종은 1/4분기보다 더 악화될 것으로 분석됐다. 대한상공회의소가 조사한 자료에 따르면 업종별 BSI가 97(전분기에는 88)을 기록해 상당히 호전될 것으로 나타난 반면 인쇄업종은 전분기 110에서 105로 하락했다.
