Study on corrosion characteristics of magnesium alloys (마그네슘 합금종(AZ31, AZ80)의 부식 특성 연구)

  • AZ31과 AZ80의 마그네슘합금 소재를 이용하여 분극곡선과 전기화학적 임피던스를 측정하였고, 다른 금속과 접촉하여 대기환경에 노출시킨 부식시험을 하였다. 그 결과 AZ31보다는 AZ80의 부식저항이 더 큰 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 마그네슘 모재가 이종금속과 접촉된 상황에서 Cu>Fe>Al의 접촉재 순으로 부식이 진행되었다.

Characteristics of Quasi-MFISFET Device with Various Ferroelectric Thin Films (강유전체 박막의 특성에 따른 Quasi-MFISFET 소자의 특성)

  • Hysteresis loops of the ferroelectric thin films such as PLZT(10/30/70), PLT(10) and PZT(30/70) was simulated using the field-dependent polarization model and compared to the measured loops. In case of PZT(30/70) thin film, as the real saturation or polarization at the applied voltage or larger than 5V appears slack and its value is quite different from the simulated one, it is deduced that the ferroelectric polarization of PZT(30/70) is generated not only by the pure dipoles but also by various electric charges. The drain current of quasi-MFISFET is expressed by using the square-law FET and field-dependent polarization models. The modeling results are analogous to the experimental values. The channel of quasi-MFISFET using PZT(30/70) forms more quickly compared to that of quasi-MFISFET using PLZT(10/30/70) or PLT(10) in the state of 'write' gate voltage of -10V. This may be because the decrease rate of the polarization in the PZT(30/70) thin film is 3~4 times more rapid than that of the polarization in the PLZT(10/30/70) or the PLT(10) thin film in the retention characteristics.

Polarization Characteristics of Thermal Sprayed Coating Layer (용사코팅층의 분극특성)

  • Thermal spraying onto the metal substrate has been widely used as a technique of the surface treatment in the various industrial field. A wide range of thermal spray technologies exist and all rely on the fundamental process of fusing a metal feedstock, atomizing it and transporting it to the surface of a substrate. Specially, these methods have been taken into account as the protection method against the corrosion. In this study, the polarization characteristics were carried out on the thermal sprayed coating layer immersed in various pH of diluted aqueous solutions at $25^{\circ}C$. Aluminum, Zinc, Ni-base alloy, alumina and polyethylene powder were used with sprayed coating materials. From the polarization curves, the electrochemical corrosion potential($E_{corr}$) and the corrosion current density($I_{corr}$) were investigated.

  • Errors and its compensation in the measurement of dielectric hysteresis in ferroelectric by using Sawyer-Tower circuit were discussed. When ferroelectrics are lossy, remanent polarization and coercive field are likely to be over-estimated. As the DC conductivity and measuring time increases, measurement errors in ferroelectric properties increase. Current hysteresis measurement was suggested for compensation such errors.

Effect of Zr/Ti concentration in the PLZT(10/y/z) thin films from the aspect of NVFRAM application (비휘발성 메모리 소자로의 응용의 관점에서 PLZT(10/y/z) 박막에서의 Zr/Ti 농도 변화 효과)

  • 비휘발성 메모리 소자로의 응용의 관점에서, sol-gel 방법으로 La 을 10mo1% 로 고정시킨 PLZT (10/y/z) 박막을 제작하여 Zr/Ti 조성비에 따른 구조적 및 전기적 특성을 조사하였다. PLZT(10/40/60) 박막은 로제트와 파이로클로르 상이 관찰되었으며, Zr/Ti 조성비에서 Ti 함유량이 증가함에 따라, (100) 배향성, 결정립 크기와 표면 거칠기는 증가되었다. 또한 Zr/Ti 조성비에서 Ti 함유량이 증가함에 따라, 10㎑ 에서 비유전율은 600 에서 400 으로 감소된 반면, 유전손실은 0.028 에서 0.053 로 증가되었으며, 170 ㎸/cm 에서 누설전류밀도는 1.64×$10^{-6}$ 에서 1.26×$10^{-7}$A/㎠ 으로 감소되었다. 그리고 ± 170㎸/㎝ 에서 측정한 PLZT 박막의 이력곡선을 측정한 결과, Zr/Ti 조성비가 40/60 에서 0/100 로 변화함에 따라 PLZT 박막의 잔류분극과 항전계는 6.62 에서 12.86 μC/cm2, 32.15 에서 56.45㎸/㎝ 로 각각 증가되었으며, 피로와 retention 특성 역시 개선되었다. PLZT 박막에 ±5V 의 사각펄스를 $10^9$ 회 인가하여 피로특성을 측정한 결과, PLZT(10/40/60) 박막의 잔류분극은 초기분극값으로부터 50% 감소된 반면, PLZT(10/0/100) 박막은 30% 감소되었다. 또, $10^5$ 초의 retention 결과에서 PLZT(10/0/100) 박막은 초기분극값에서 오직 11% 만이 감소된 반면, PLZT(10/40/60) 박막은 40% 감소되었다.

Cryogenic fracture behaviors and polarization characteristics according to sensitizing heat treatment on structural material of the nuclear fusion reactor (핵 융합로 구조재료의 예민화 열처리에 따른 극저온 파괴거동 및 분극특성)

  • The cryogenic fracture behaviors of austenitic stainless steel HN2 developed for nuclear fusion reactor were evaluated quantitatively by using the small punch(SP) test. The electrochemical polarization test was applied to study thermal aging degradation of HN2 steel. The X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis was conducted to detect carbides and nitrides precipitated on the grain boundary of the heat treated HN2 steel. The mechanical properties of the HN2 steel significantly decreased with increasing time and temperature of heat treatment or with decreasing testing temperature. The integrated charge(Q) obtained from electrochemical polarization test showed a good correlation with the SP energy(ESP) obtained by means of SP tests. From the results observed in the x-ray diffraction and anodic polarization curve, it was known that the material the grain boundary. Combining SP test and electrochemical polarization test, it could be useful tools to non-destructively evaluate the cryogenic fracture behaviors and the aging degradation for cryogenic structural material.

Applications of Micro-Droplet Cell to Study of Localized Corrosion Resistance of Stainless Steels (스테인리스강의 국부부식 저항성 연구에 미세방울셀의 응용)

  • Micro-droplet cell with free droplet as a micro-electrochemical technique has been limited to apply to electrochemical systems with high wetting properties such as an acidic solution and low grade stainless steels(Type 316L). By loading negative pressure to a droplet, control of droplet size, and use of hydrophobic gasket, the cell is modified to be allowed to use for electrochemical systems with high wetting properties. For giving the reliability of new cell, studies on local corrosion were conducted for three different systems-an acidic chloride solution and high chromium ferritic stainless steel, the other acidic chloride solution and type 316, and a neutral chloride solution and type 316. stainless steel. Firstly, the modified micro-droplet cell allows the anodic polarization curves in an acidic chloride solution to show the fact that the local corrosion of high chromium stainless steel near the $\alpha/\sigma$ interface is due to the Cr depleted zone. Secondly, the local anodic polarization test of type 316 L in the other acidic chloride solution can be successfully conducted in the cell. Furthermore, the local polarization curves help elucidating the corrosion of type 316 with $\delta-ferrite$ phase. Finally, the polarization curves of type 316 L in a neutral chloride solution indicates that the factor affecting the pitting corrosion resistance was inclusions rather than $\delta-ferrite$.

Electrode Dependence of Asymmetric Behavior of (La,Sr)CoO₃/Pb(Zr,Ti)O₃/(La,Sr)CoO₃ Thin Film Capacitors ((La,Sr)CoO₃/Pb(Zr,Ti)O₃/(La,Sr)CoO₃박막 캐패시터의 비대칭성의 전극 의존성)

  • (La,Sr)CoO3/Pb(Zr,Ti)O3/(La,Sr)CoO3 (LSCO) heterostructures have been grown on LaAlO3 substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) to investigate asymmetric polarization of Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) thin flims with different electrode configuration. P-V hysteresis loop of LSCO/PZT/LSCO was symmetric. However, LaCoO3 (LCO_/PZT/LSCO showed a largely asymmetric P-V hystersis loop and large relaxation of the remanent polarization at the negatively poled state, which means that the negatively poled state was unstable. On the other hand, LSCO/PZT/LCO exhibited large relaxation of the positively poled state. The asymmetric behavior of the polarized states implies the presence of an interal electric firld inside the PZT layer. It is suggested that internal electric field is caused by built-in voltages at LCO/PZT and LSCO/PZT interfaces. The built-in voltages at LCO/PZT and CSCO/PZT interfaces were 0.6 V and -0.12 V, respectively.

Implementation of Fuel Cell Simulator for Ship Using the Programmable Power Supply (전력공급장치를 이용한 선박용 연료전지 시뮬레이터의 구현)

  • In order to study to apply the fuel cell, the study about the power system design and the load control is needed. However, to experiment the fuel cell need the auxiliary device and the complex control technology. For this reason the simulator is needed and such study is in progress actively. In this paper, the PEMFC (Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell) that is applied the vehicle, the small sized ship was simulated based on LabVIEW. The characteristic of fuel cell simulator was implemented based on a simulation data using the programmable power supply. The I-V characteristic according to various factors and the polarization curve of fuel cell were analysed.

고온 염기성 수용액에서 $TiO_2$가 Alloy 600과 Alloy 690의 응력부식파괴에 미치는 영향

  • Alloy 600과 Alloy 690의 응력부식파괴(Stress corrosion cracking, SCC)에 미치는 TiO$_2$의 영향을 315$^{\circ}C$의 10%NaOH 수용액에서 RUB(reverse U-bend) 시편, C-Ring 시편과 CT(compact tension)시편을 사용하여 평가하였다. 시편은 alloy 600 MA(mill anneal), alloy 600 TT(thermal treatment) 그리고 alloy 690 TT로 제작하였다. SCC 시험은 탈산된 10%NaOH 수용액에 2 g/1 TiO$_2$를 첨가한 용액과 첨가하지 않은 용액에서 수행하였으며, 이 조건에서 분극곡선도 얻었다. SCC 시험시 시편을 부식전위로부터 +150 ㎷ 양극분극을 가하였다. 기준전극으로 external Ag/AgCl electrode를 사용하였다. Alloy 600 MA로 제작한 RUB 시편은 TiO$_2$가 없는 용액에서 5일 안에 벽 관통 균열을 보였으나 TiO$_2$가 첨가된 용액에서는 균열을 관찰할 수 없었다. TiO$_2$가 첨가됨에 따라 alloy 600과 alloy 690의 임계전류밀도는 크게 감소하였고 또한 부동태 전류밀도도 감소하였다. 부동테 영역에서 TiO$_2$가 있는 용액의 경우 여러 peak가 있는 반면에 TiO$_2$가 없는 용액은 peak가 뚜렷하지 않았다. 이런 결과는 TiO$_2$가 첨가점에 따라 active region에서도 안정한 부동태 피막이 존재한다는 것을 시사한다. 또한 TiO$_2$가 없는 경우 SCC가 잘 일어나는 영역에 존재하는 부동태 피막이 TiO$_2$ 첨가에 따라 repassivation kinetics 등의 성질이 변화한 것으로 판단된다.
