The minimum reinforcement ratio is an important design factor to prevent a brittle failure in RC flexural members. A minimum reinforcement ratio is presented by assuming an effective depth of cross-section and moment arm lever in CDC and KHBDC. In this study, it suggests that a rational method for minimum reinforcement ratio is calculated by material model and force equilibrium. As results, a minimum reinforcement ratio using a p-r curve in KHBDC is evaluated about 52~80% of recent design code's value and it induces an economical design. And also, a ductility capacity in case of placing this minimum reinforcement amount is evaluated about 89% of recent design code's value, but ductility in a member is 7 or more, so it has a sufficient ductility capacity. Therefore, it is judged that a minimum reinforcement ratio using p-r curve has a theoretical rationality, safety and economy in a flexural member design.

In this study, the flexural behavior of high strength concrete members with different curing condition of 90 MPa of compressive strength was investigated. Experimental parameters included normal and low temperature curing conditions, tensile steel amount and concrete compressive strength. 8 beam members were fabricated and flexural tests were carried out. Crack spacing, load-deflection relation, load-strain relation and ductility index were determined. Experimental results show that as the amount of rebar increases, the number of cracks increases and the crack spacing decreases. The higher the concrete strength, the smaller the number of cracks, but the effect is significantly smaller than the amount of rebar. As a result of comparison with the proposed average crack spacing in the design criteria, the experimental results are slightly larger than the results of the proposed formula, but the proposed formula does not reflect the concrete strength and curing conditions. The ductility index of normal temperature cured members was 3.36~6.74 and the ductility index of low temperature cured members was 1.51~2.82. The behavior of low temperature cured members was found to be lower than that of normal temperature cured members. As a result of comparing the ductility index with the existing studies similar to the experimental members, the ductility index of the high strength concrete member was larger than the ductility index of the ordinary strength concrete of the previous study. Further research is needed to understand more specific results.

This study proposed a new methodology for seismic capacity evaluation of low-rise reinforced concrete (RC) buildings based on non-linear required spectrum. In order to verify the reliability of the proposed method, relationships between results obtained using the proposed method and the non-linear dynamic analyses were investigated. Compared with the seismic protection index (Es=0.6) defined in the Japanese Standard, the applicability of the method was also estimated. Research results indicate that the method proposed in this study compares reasonably well with the detailed evaluation methods. Using the seismic evaluation method developed in this study, the seismic capacity category and earthquake damage degree of low-rise RC buildings corresponding to a specific earthquake level can be effectively estimated.
In this study, the distortional behaviors of tub-section steel girders subjected to torsional loading were analyzed, and predictor equations were developed for estimating the member forces induced in the internal bracing system installed in the steel tub girders. Torsional loadings originated either by eccentric vertical loading or girder curvature were decomposed into the pure torsional force component that does not affect the distortional box deformation, and into the distortional force component that directly induces box distortion. The axial member forces induced in the internal cross frames were formulated as a function of the magnitude of torsional loading through the analytical investigation of the interactions between the distortional force component and internal cross frames. To verify the proposed equations, three-dimensional finite element analysis (3D FEA) was conducted for the straight simple-span girder and the three-span continuous girder samples. Very good agreement was found between the member forces from the FEA and the proposed equations.

Half-depth panels were developed with the merits of CIP (Cast In Place) decks and precast decks for constructability and fast construction. In this paper, details of half-depth panels with pre-tensioning were suggested. For evaluation of structural performance, five half-depth panel specimens were fabricated and static tests were conducted. The cross-sections of these specimens were composed of pre-tensioned half-depth panels and pre-tensioned two-span half-depth panels. Test parameters were the amount of the prestressing force and the longitudinal reinforcements. Static tests on simply-supported slabs showed that ultimate strength was 1.55 times greater than calculated nominal strength. The flexural strength was only 10 % increased and the influence on crack width control was negligible when the member of tendons was increased twice. For two-span continuous specimens, the ultimate strength increased 1.2 times and 1.38 times respectively as the reinforcement was additionally provided. The verified half-depth panels by this research can be effectively utilized for the fast replacement or construction of bridges.
This study was conducted to examine the effects of levels of flavoring materials on the sensory characteristics of chicken feet Jokpyun (Korean traditional gel type food) and to determine the optimum levels. Consumer desirability of Jokpyun flavored with different levels of black pepper and ginger was evaluated. Optimum levels of variables were obtained using response surface methodology. The levels were 0.33% and 0.1% for black pepper and ginger extract, respectively. The shelf-life of the optimized Jokpyun at $4^{\circ}C$ was determined as 6 days. Addition of powdered chicken broth in the Jokpyun preparation at the level of 1.5%(w/w) markedly increased boiled chicken flavor without resulting in undesirable properties.
This study presents an example of conceptual design for hollow circular section multi-column tower system subjected to 10MW level wind load by introducing a method based on member utilization that examine both structural stability and economical efficiency. The basic assumptions for the proto type of a multi-column tower that can replace a single-cylinder tower were suggested and structural models were constructed following the assumptions and analyzed for identifying member forces. Based on the calculated member strengths and acting loads, the member utilization of the proposed multi-column tower structures were calculated for axial force, shear, bending and torsion and evaluaed for suitability as a wind tower. Design parameters such as steel tube dimensions, slenderness ratio, and number of floors for braces was proposed in the acceptable range of member utilization for conceptual design of multi-column wind towers.
This study examined Korean immigrant elderly's generativity and care-giving experiences of their grandchildren according to their level of generativity. In-depth interview and participant observation method were used. First, this study used Loyola Generativity Scale in order to find Korean immigrant elderly's generativity level. 4 grandparents were selected as a group of low generativity level and 4 grandparents as high level. Grandparents with low generativity level showed non-voluntary care-giving, severe care-giving stress, guilty feeling for their adult children and shame for their ancestors, anxiety for the unstable future, lack of self-care, and lack of social assistance. Grandparents with high generativity level showed voluntary care-giving, positive reaction for the reversed parental care, feeling of usefulness for care-giving, hope for the future, existence of self-care, and existence of social assistance. Further discussion and suggestions were made from the study results.
