A Study on the Properties of UWB Circular Monopole Antenna with Folded Structure (접힌 구조의 UWB 원형 모노폴 안테나의 특성 연구)

  • In this paper, the performance variation of a planar circular monopole antenna is studied, when this antenna is fabricated to film type and installed in the space between case and PCB of UWB terminal. When the circular monopole part has the 'ㄷ' folded structure, the input impedance and return loss, bandwidth, radiation pattern of this antenna are simulated and measured. Then the performance variation is compared with conventional planar antenna. As the results, the folded type circular antenna is usable as a intenna of UWB communication terminal, because of the good return loss and radiation pattern performance in the 2.6 - 12 GHz including the UWB frequency band.

  • 유리와 같이 취성이 큰 재료의 파단면을 주의하여보면 반원형의 곡선이 이따금씩 여러개 나타나 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 이것은 진행 중에 있는 균열이 어떠한 부분으로부터 나온 음파(횡파)와 만났을 때 일어나는 흔적으로 Wallner선 이라고 한다. 초음파 Fractography는 파괴 시험시 강력한 초음파를 사용하여 파단면에 이와 같은 Wallner 선을 인공적으로 발생시켜, 파면해석을 통하여 파괴속도등 파괴연구에 필요한 정보를 얻는 수법이다. 이 수법은 유리와 같은 비정질 탄성태의 파괴속도 측정을 위해 Kerkhof에 의해 최초로 고안되었으며, 수지와 같은 점탄성재료에 대해서는 Takahashi에 의하여 PMMA(Polymethy1 Methacrylate)재에 강력한 초음파를 사용하여 그 가능성이 제기된 이후 PMMA와 EPOXY재등의 점탄성재료의 파괴속도측정과 파괴강성등의 측정에 본격적으로 연구되기 시작하였다.

  • The proposed method inserts a watermark information not mto a whole Image region but only into regions of interest(ROIs) To extract the ROIs, we divide an original Image into sub-blocks and use modified Shi-Kuo Chang's PIM(picture information measure) as the criteria to select the ROIs Considering the directional information and frequency bands, we insert the watermark information into sub-blocks m the DCT domain. The proposed method can reduce the distortion in comparison With the other methods which utilize the whole Image as an nor The proposed method makes much less damaged Images m comparison to the other methods And those Images processed by the proposed algorithm are more robust to the changes caused by signal processing operations such as resampling, clipping. noise, and so on Also due to the block-based watermark insertion, the proposed method has the robustness to the Image compression processes such as JPEG and MPEG.

  • In this study, the flutter analysis for a rectangular box wing and an actual fighter wing with composite shin, aluminum spar and aluminum rib has been conducted. A conservative 3D wing-box model of an actual wing is modeled by MSC/PATRAN and the corresponding free vibration analysis has been performed by MSC/NASTRAN. The finite elements of membrane, rod and shear panel are used. Using the practical ply angles, various composite laminates are composed and analysed. The DLM code which is linear aerodynamic theory in frequency domain is applied to calculate unsteady aerodynamic pressure in subsonic flow region and the V-g and p-k methods are applied to obtain the solution of aeroelastic governing equation in frequency domain.

  • In recent SATCOM systems, transparent transponders are widely used. The transponder is, however, the most vulnerable part in SATCOM systems against jamming interference. All signals within the transponder bandwidth are frequency-converted and retransmitted with IM(intermodulation) products. In this paper, the method is proposed that makes the SJR(Signal-to-Jammer ratio) better. The bandwidth spreading of the user signal can reduce the jammers effects. The geostationary satellite system is modeled to simulate and to certificate the capability of suppression of jammers by DSSS. If signal is partially-overlapped by jammer and PG(processing gain) is 16.9 [dB] for 2ASK jammer and about 16.8 [dB] for QPSK jammer, when BER is $10^{-3}$.

  • A vibration response-based detection system was used to investigate the adhesive areas of single-lap joints using a nonlinear transformation approach for deep learning. In industry or engineering fields, it is difficult to know the condition of an invisible part within a structure that cannot easily be disassembled and the conditions of adhesive areas of adhesively bonded structures. To address these issues, a detection method was devised that uses nonlinear transformation to determine the adhesive areas of various single-lap-jointed specimens from the vibration response of the reference specimen. In this study, a frequency response function with nonlinear transformation was employed to identify the vibration characteristics, and a virtual spectrogram was used for classification in convolutional neural network based deep learning. Moreover, a vibration experiment, an analytical solution, and a finite-element analysis were performed to verify the developed method with aluminum, carbon fiber composite, and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene specimens.

Stepped Impedance LPF using MCSl (MCS선로를 이용한 스텝 임피던스 저역필터)

  • The MCS(Micro-coplanar strip) line has been analyzed. The conformal mapping method is used to calculate the quasi-static effective permittivity and characteristic impedance of this MCS line. The computed results of the present work are found to be in good agreement when compared with the results obtained using commercial S/W, IE3D. And in this paper, the stepped-impedance low pass microstrip filter is designed and fabricated with MCS lines for improving the frequency responses. The LPF proposed structure has been also designed and implemented to have the sharp attenuation characteristics in stop band. The agreement between simulation and measurement results verify the implemented LPF.

  • 영상은 동적인 시각 이미지와 청각의 결합에 의해 감성적인 반응을 유도한다. 다양한 영상 기법을 통하여 감성적 반응의 극대화를 추구하는 영화는 영상의 시청각적 요소들을 감성의 관점에서 효과적으로 설계하는데 본보기가 된다. 그러나, 제품의 설계속성들에 대한 감성적 평가결과를 모형화하는 감성공학적 관점에서 볼 때 영화는 시청각적 자극의 수준이 극히 다양하고 동적인 경험재로 모형화의 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 영화의 감성 모형을 구축하기 위한 사전연구의 단계로 영화에서의 시청각적 요인들을 문헌조사를 통해 수집, 정리, 선별하고 이러한 시청각적 요인들 중에 영화를 관람하는 관객의 감성적, 인지적 반응에 영향을 주는 유효한 요인들을 객관적이고 체계적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 감성 및 인지적 반응의 변화를 생체신호를 통해 측정하는 한편, 생체신호의 측정 시 사용된 영화의 시청각적 자극요인을 Video/Audio Processing방법에 의해 연속적인 수치로 정량화하였다. 생체신호와 정량화된 시청각적 자극요인을 동기화하고 통계적으로 분석함으로써, 생체신호의 반응과 시청각적 자극요인과의 인과관계를 통계적으로 신뢰성있는 수준에서 검증하고자 하였다. 생체신호를 종속변수로, 시청각적 자극요인을 독립변수로 하는 896개의 부분선형회귀모형(Partial Linear Regression Model)들 중 통계적으로 유의한 선형관계에 있는 경우의 빈도분석에 의하면, 시각적 요인들 중에는 밝기(Brightness), 대비(Contrast), 색상(Color), 움직임(Motion), 장면전환속도(Shot change Rate), 주요대상의 상대적 크기가, 청각적 요인들 중에는 Peak주파수, Peak주파수의 음량, 평균음량, 소음비(Sound-to-Noise Ratio)가 생체신호의 변화에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이는, 위의 시청각적 자극 요인들은 특히 관객의 감성 및 인지적인 반응에 유의한 영향을 주는 요소로 작용할 수 있음을 시사하고 있다. 이를 토대로, 위의 시청각적 자극 요인들이 가지는 다양한 조합들을 설명변수로 하는 통계적인 영화의 감성 모형을 구축할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • This paper describes a Delay Locked Loop (DLL) with low supply voltage and wide lock range for Synchronous DRAM which employs Double Data Rate (DDR) technique for faster data transmission. To obtain high resolution and fast lock-on time, a new type of phase detector is designed. The new counter and lock indicator structure are suggested based on the Dual-clock dual-data Flip Flop (DCDD FF). The DCDD FF reduces the size of counter and lock indicator by about 70%. The delay line is composed of coarse and fine units. By the use of fast phase detector, the coarse delay line can detect minute phase difference of 0.2 nsec and below. Aided further by the new type of 3-step vernier fine delay line, this DLL circuit achieves unprecedented timing resolution of 25psec. This DLL spans wide locking range from 500MHz to 500MHz and generates high-speed clocks with fast lock-on time of less than 5 clocks. When designed using 0.25 um CMOS technology with 1.8V supply voltage, the circuit consumes 32mA at 500MHz locked condition. This circuit can be also used for other applications as well, such as synchronization of high frequency communication systems.

Rock Bolt Integrity Assessment in Time-Frequency Domain : In-situ Application at Hard Rock Site (유도파를 이용한 시간-주파수 영역 해석을 통한 록볼트 건전도 실험의 경암지반 현장 적용성 평가)

  • As rock bolts become one of the main support systems in tunnels and underground structures, the integrity of the rock bolts affects the safety of these structures. The purpose of this study is the evaluation of rock bolt integrity using wavelet transforms of the guided ultrasonic waves by using transmission test in the field. After several rock bolts with various defect ratios are embedded into a large scale concrete block and rock mass, guided waves are generated by a piezo disk element and measured by an acoustic emission (AE) sensor. The captured signals are analyzed in the time-frequency domain using the wavelet transform based on a Gabor wavelet. Peak values in the time-frequency domain represent the interval of travel time of each echo. The energy velocities of the guided waves increase with an increase in the defect ratio. The suitable curing time for the evergy velocity analysis is proposed by the laboratory test, and in-situ tests are performed in two tunnelling sites to verify the applicability of rock bolt integrity tests performed after proposed curing time. This study proves that time-frequency domain analysis is an effective tool for the evaluation of the rock bolt integrity.
