Performance Analysis of Fractional Frequency Reuse Scheme for Enterprise Femtocell Networks (기업형 펨토셀 네트워크에서 부분 주파수 재사용 방법의 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel frequency reuse method using the fractional frequency reuse (FFR) for enterprise femtocell networks (EFNs) in which a lot of femtocell base stations (fBSs) are deployed in a buinding, e.g., business companies, department stores, etc, and evaluate the system performance for the downlink of EFNs. First, we introduce the concept of the split reuse method to allocate the frequency bandwidth with considering the interference between the macrocell and femtocell. Then, we propose the resource allocation with the FFR for fBSs of EFNs to reduce the interference and increase the system capacity. Through simulations, we show that the proposed FFR method outperforms a traditional resource allocation method with frequency reuse factor 4 in terms of the mean fUE capacity, total EFN capacity, and outage probability.

  • The joint tactical information distribution system (JTIDS) is used as the communication terminal of Link-16 by the United States armed forces, north atlantic treaty organization (NATO), and other allied forces. A portion of Link-16 frequencies may be shortly remapped to other systems owing to the growing demand for frequencies, especially in civil aviation, which is witnessing a constant increase in air traffic. This will affect the performance of Link-16. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the effect of frequency band reduction on the performance of Link-16 waveform under partial-band noise jamming with Nakagami fading, via simulation and numerical analysis. The multi-net and anti-jamming performance of Link-16 with frequency remapping is compared with that of conventional Link-16 systems. The results show that the performance of Link-16 waveform is degraded with the reduction in frequencies. Nonetheless, Link-16 retains its jam resistance, and it can support multiple users in the same time slots.

  • We propose a new recirculating fiber delay-line filter structure. In proposed system, we insert a fiber Bragg grating(FBG) into a recirculating fiber delay line and it operates as a partially reflection mirror. Therefore, the transfer function of the system is given by the recirculating delay output part and the multiple-reflected output part due to a FBG. By adjusting the parameters such as coupling coefficient, reflectivity of FBG, and gain, we can make the system operate in various filter.

  • 차량의 주요 소음원부터 실내 탑승자의 귀의 위치까지 도달되는 소음의 전달에 대한 전체적인 경로 및 주파수특성에 대한 해석은 차량의 구조-음향적인 특성이 복잡하므로 매우 어렵다. 그러나, 중-고주파수에 대한 대책에 있어서는 흡차음재가 유용함은 이미 알려진 사실이다. 차실 벽면에 사용된 흡/차음재는 소음레벨에 부분적인 기여를 함은 물론이고 음질에도 영향을 미친다. 소음 레벨에 있어서는 수백 Hz 이하의 저주파수 성분이 주요하며, 음질에는 중-고주파수 대역의 소음특성이 큰 영향을 미친다[1]. 본 논문에서는, 실험적으로 측정된 소음원의 특성을 수치해석 모델에 이용하여 소음레벨 저감과 음질개선을 위한 흡/차음재의 개선방향을 모색하였다.

  • In OFDMA-based cellular system, inter-cell interference (ICI) reduces system capacity by aggravating receiving performance of the users located in edge of the cell. Therefore, to mitigate ICI is very important issue in cellular system. To deal with ICI problem, fractional frequency reuse (FFR) is introduced. FFR is an interference management technique. It separates each cell into inner cell and outer cell. Then, it allocates whole system bandwidth to inner cell and different frequency partition to each sector of outer cell. By doing this, outer cell users can ignore interferences from adjacent cells. So, the receiving performance of the cell edge users can be fairly increased. However, using FFR technique has a fatal side effect. In order to use different frequency partition among three sectors of outer cell, they can use only a third of the whole system bandwidth. Then, the reduction of available bandwidth reduces the system throughput directly. To solve this problem, we propose a new FFR method that allocates partially overlapped frequency partition to each sector of outer cell. And then, we suggest a proper overlapping ratio for practical cellular system.

  • Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP) identifies patients' anatomical structures from MR or CT data sets. Recently, it becomes possible to generate MIP images with interactive speed by exploiting Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) even in large volume data sets. Generally, volume boundary plane is obliquely crossed with view-aligned texture plane in hardware-texture based volume rendering. Since the ray sampling distance is not increased at volume boundary in volume rendering, the aliasing problem occurs due to data loss. In this paper, we propose an efficient method to overcome this problem by Re-rendering volume boundary planes. Our method improves image quality to make dense distances between samples near volume boundary which is a high frequency area. Since it is only 6 clipping planes are additionally needed for Re-rendering, high quality rendering can be performed without sacrificing computational efficiency. Furthermore, our method couldbe applied to Minimum Intensity Projection (MinIP) volume rendering.

  • 본 논문은 H.264/AVC 디코더의 하드웨어 구현 시 가장 많은 시간을 소비하는 부분이 움직임 추정기를 하드웨어로 구현하였다. 움직임 추정을 함에 있어서 외부메모리 Access 량을 줄이고, SAD연산을 수행할 때 Clock의 손실 없이 계산을 하는 움직임 예측기를 제안한다. 제안한 구조는 재탐색 구간에서 이전 탐색 범위와 공통부분을 이루는 부분을 레지스터에 따로 저장해 두었다가, 재탐색시에 이전 Data를 사용하는 방법을 이용하였다. 움직임 추정을 수행할 때의 SAD (Sum of absolute differences)연산 부분과 Adder-tree를 묶은 PU Array와 SAD 누적기, 선택기를 Pipelining을 통하여 Clock의 손실 없이 연속적으로 계산하는 움직임 예측기를 설계하였다. 구현한 하드웨어는 최대 446.43MHz의 주파수에서 동작할 수 있었고, 탐색영역 64${\times}$64, 참조 프레임 3, 그리고 영상크기 1920${\times}$1080 기준으로 구현한 결과 50 프레임을 처리할 수 있는 성능을 보였다.

  • 에어컨 실외기의 구조 방사 소음을 줄이기 위해 제진재를 적용함에 있어 구조 인텐서티(structural intensity)법을 사용할 수 있다. 에어컨 실외기 각 패널의 법선 방향의 속도는 레이져 스케닝 바이브로미터(laser scanning vibrometer)에 의해 측정되며, 측정된 데이터는 공간 주파수 영역(k-domain)으로 변환하여 구조 인텐서티 계산에 필요한 공간 미분값이 구해진다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 계산된 구조 인텐서티 중 반동 전단 구조인텐서티(reactive shearing structural intensity)값이 가장 높은 부분에 사각형 형상의 제진재를 적용한다. 본 논문은 패널에 비해 그 크기가 작은 제진재의 적용으로 에어컨 실외기의 구조 방사 소음을 줄일 수 있음을 보여준다.

  • This paper presents a new model of the Miller effect. The new Miller effect model is obtained from the accurate AC gain which includes the effect of the output capacitance of the common-source (CS) amplifier. The new Miller effect model consists of the series connection of a capacitance and a parallel RC circuit, one at the input and the other at the output. The frequency response obtained by the new Miller effect model is equal to that obtained from the original circuit. Even though the new model is complicated, the 3-dB frequency can be easily estimated by using the open-circuit time constants method without the node analysis.
