As compared other strategies, assimilation strategy had positive relationships with parenting efficacy, behaviors for career development, parents' support, adolescents' career attitudes and perceived career barriers. This study provided some implications for immigrant families with adolescents.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the construct validity of the Penn Interactive Peer Play Scale on the parent version. The participants of this study were 231 children in the Seoul and Gyeonggi provincial areas. The instruments included the 32-item exploratory PIPPS (Choi & Shin, 2008), and the Preschool Behavior Questionnaire (PBQ; Park, 1992). The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Pearson's r and Cronbach ${\alpha}$. The results were as follows. First, the PIPPPS on the parent version was validated with supporting three factors: Play Disruption, Play Disconnection and Play Interaction with 30 items. The sub-factors of the PIPPS were related with those of the PBQ as criterion measurements. The reliability coefficients of the sub-factors of the PIPPS were ranged from .78 to .82.
Today, elderly people has desperately felt isolation and desolation due to the loss of activity at home and society by the change of social structure and the tendancy of nuclear family. The mutual-relationship between parants and their children is important to solve the problem of eldery people's isolation and desolation. The present study was conducted to investigate the status of mutual-communication by visiting, telephone and letter on 678 parents over 55 years of age and 1,316 their adult children from September 1st to 30th, 1982. It was investigated with questionaire by students. The frequency of communication from children to parents was highest in 25.4% by telephone and 21.6% by visiting, 4 times a month. Correspondence of letter showed only 18.1% in a year. The frequency of communication from parents to children was highest 16.1% by telephone and 15.6% by visiting, 4 times a month. Correspondence of letter showed only 11.3% in a year. Urban parents showed higher frequency than rural parents by visiting and telephone, but lower by letter. The older age group of children showed higher frequency than the younger by visiting and telephone but 3rd decade was highest by letter. The younger age group of parents showed higher frequency than older age group. Mother was showed higher frequency than father by visiting and telephone, but father by letter. Higher education level group showed higher frequency than lower education level group. Merchants and factory workers showed the highest frequency by visiting and telephone, but officials by letter. Upper class group in socio-economic status showed higher frequency than lower class group generally, but lower class group dy letter from parents to children. The group within samedistrict between parents and children showed the highest frequency by visiting and telephone, but the group within long distance by letter.

In this thesis, we investigate the psychosocial variables within the family environments of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder with (ADHD+CD/ODD) or without (ADHD) externalizing symptoms. The subjects in this research were 86 boys and girls(aged range 6 to 14 years) consisted of 20 ADHD, 22 comorbid ADHD(ADHD+CD/ODD) and 44 normal control group(NC). We have collected data on children and their mothers. The psychosocial variables included in the analysis are socioeconomic status, parent's educational level, life stress event, and the rate of psychiatric disorders in relatives. The self-reported questionnaires marital discord(MAS), parenting stress(PSI), and parenting attitute(MBRI) completed by mothers. The results indicated that ADHD+CD/ODD is supposed to have higher level of family adversity suggested by the lower SES, lower parental educational level, higher life stress events, and more psychic disorders in relatives compared with ADHD or normal control group. In MAS, ADHD+CD/ODD group has significantly the lowest scores on each factor of the measure of marital adjustment. Parents of ADHD+CD/ODD are much more likely to have positive parenting stress when compared with the parents of ADHD. Especially, mothers of ADHD+CD/ODD have the lowest tendency in the mean score on affective, accepted attitudd. In an inapropriate parenting attitude perceived by children, father of ADHD+CD/ODD have the most negative, contradictory attitude and mothers of ADHD+CD/ODD have the most restrictive, negative and contradictory attitude.
As the use of smart devices such as smartphones and tablets has become common, the time to start using smart devices is getting earlier, such as using smart devices from the age of one. Also, the use of smart devices by infants and toddlers is continuously increasing. Smart devices have become convenient means of acquiring pleasure and knowledge, but the side effects of addiction and overdependence are becoming issues as much as the benefits of smart devices. This study pays attention to young children's overdependence on smart devices, and focuses on the aspects of parents' perception, control, and observational behavior about smart devices, which can have a profound effect on young children. This study examines how young children's overdependence on smart devices can consequently affect children's characteristics in terms of activity, emotional sensitivity, and social aspects. In particular, this study attempts to explore that the factors influencing children's overdependence on smart devices and the results can vary depending on the moderating variables (parents' control method for children's smart device use, supervision method, and type of contents mainly used). Based on the findings, this study can provide guidelines and implications for parents on how to effectively use smart devices for their young children.
In today's family, it can be said that children's faith education is in a very difficult time. Moreover, faith education at home is urgently required during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as society changes rapidly, families are also changing rapidly. As the current society became diversified and personalized, the family lost its educational function. In other words, it can be immediately said that faith education in Christian families has collapsed. The reason is that the problem of faith education in today's family lies in poor communication. Communication problems are becoming difficult for parents and children due to changes in values caused by individualism and capitalism, and as the difference between values and the generation of children widens. In addition, disconnection of dialogue at home due to the disconnection of culture between generations is an obstacle to faith education. It is urgent to restore the educational function of Christian families. When parents provide Christian faith education to their children, their children can grow up properly. Communication with children is desperately needed to restore the purpose and function of faith education at home. Communication between parents and children is an important factor influencing children's motivation for religious education. Parents and children's communication must be open and positive parenting attitudes need to be sufficiently motivated for faith education. In order to solve the immediate problem of the absence of faith education at home, an alternative will be proposed to restore faith education through communication between parents and children. First, the necessity of faith education at home will be discussed. Then communication at the beginning of faith education will be considered. And third, communication and methods at home to implement faith education will be presented. This study will serve as an opportunity to provide clues to restore and implement faith education in Christian families.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the clinical utility of the internalization and externalization higher-order scales of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-Adolescent Restructured Form (MMPI-A-RF), compared with those scales of the Korean Child Behavior Checklist (K-CBCL). Methods : 43 adolescents with internalizing disorders and 44 adolescents with externalizing disorders and their parents were administered the MMPI-A-RF and K-CBCL each. To verify the difference between the internalization and externalization scales of the MMPI-A-RF and K-CBCL for each group, independent-sample t test was performed. To compare the agreement between the MMPI-A-RF and K-CBCL, correlation analysis was also conducted. Lastly, to identify which scales significantly best predict each of the internalizing and externalizing disorder, logistic regression analysis was conducted. Results : Internalization scales of the MMPI-A-RF and K-CBCL were significantly higher in the internalizing disorder group, and the externalization scales were significantly higher in the externalizing disorder group. The positive correlation was significant only for internalization problems between the two evaluation measures in both groups (each r=0.360, p<0.05, r=0.572, p<0.05). In addition, the scales significantly predicted internalizing and externalizing disorders were the internalization and externalization scales of the MMPI-A-RF, followed by the externalization scale of the K-CBCL (R2=0.407, p<0.05). Conclusions : The internalization and externalization higher-order scales of the MMPI-A-RF were found to reliably reflect the characteristics of each disorder in adolescents and be useful evaluative scales to differentiate disorders. Moreover, if adolescents show externalization problems, additional information from the K-CBCL can be more useful to differentiate disorders.
