The purpose of this study is to suggest educational directions by exploring the stories of changes and expectations experienced by Christian children during the COVID-19 pandemic. For this purpose, nine third- to fourth-grade elementary school children attending the church, were interviewed about their changes and expectations regarding COVID-19. The results identified five areas of experience: daily life changes, school life changes, interpersonal relationship changes, religious life changes, and emotional changes during the COVID-19 period. Daily changes included infection prevention, missing play, leisurely routine, and lethargy. Changes in school life included loss of face-to-face classes and various rule requirements. Interpersonal relationship changes included the difficulties in forming relationships with friends, teachers, parents, and siblings, and religious life changes included loss of face-to-face worship and the restoration of family worship. Various negative emotions were expressed. Analysis of the participants' expectations showed in daily life they wanted to travel and play, return to pre-corona school life, return to face-to-face worship, restore retreats, and develop fun programs as religious life expectations. Based on these children's experiences and wishes, the study suggests that educators need to recognize children's efforts during the COVID-19 period, read their hurt feelings, and develop church programs that include communication, community, and fun elements.

Reckless use of the Internet by children is a barrier to daily life and has a negative impact on children's physical, psychological and relational aspects. But more and more children depend on the Internet. Thus, the study conducted a meta-analysis to examine the effectiveness of group programs that involve Internet addiction among elementary school students. The study analyzed 18 studies of a local Internet group counseling program. First, the overall effectiveness of Internet-dependent group programs that cause Internet addiction reduction in elementary school students is shown to be g=0.90, indicating that group counseling programs are effective in reducing Internet addiction and changing related variables. Second, as a result of verifying differences between groups, there were differences in effectiveness in voluntary participation motivations. Therefore, intervention by elementary school students requires preventive training for smart phones so that voluntary participation can occur, and education for parents to develop autonomy for children to use smartphones properly. And rather than making these efforts limited to smart phones, IT retriever education needs to be organized.
Fear of missing out (FoMO) refers to the desire to stay continually connected with what others are doing because they are afraid of missing the flow or not being included. Although FoMO has been recently proposed as a widespread phenomenon within social media, there has been few empirical research by which mechanism FoMO leads to social networking service (SNS) addiction. Therefore, this study examined whether FoMO mediated the relationship between adolescents' attachment and SNS addiction proneness. A total of 517 middle and high school students participated in the study and completed self-report questionnaires. Results showed that FoMO partially mediated the relationship between adolescents' parental attachment and SNS addiction proneness, whereas the relationship between adolescents' peer attachment and SNS addiction proneness was fully mediated by FoMO. These results suggest that unstable attachment might contribute to SNS addiction through FoMO, especially in case of peer attachment. Lastly, we discussed theoretical and practical implications of this study and suggestions for future research.

This study seeks to analyze how children's moral emotions affect their social competence. Moral emotions focus on empathy and sympathy. The purpose of this research is to offer basic data for establishing both amoral and emotional educational program. The subjects of this research involve 182 children(either 4 or 5 year olds) that have lived in Korea. Analysis of the collected data have yielded some interesting results. First, it is found that children's empathy and sympathy are dependent on children's age and their fathers' educational level; as a result, increasing the age of the children and their fathers' educational level are found to increase empathy and sympathy. Secondly, both empathy and sympathy scores are found to have correlation to the scores of positive reciprocity, capability, and interpersonal relation on social competence. Sympathy scores increase with respect to the leadership scores of social competence. Lastly, children's empathy is a factor that affects positive reciprocity, capability, interpersonal relation, and participation on social competence. Their sympathy affects leadership on social competence.
