A Column Shortening on High-Rise Building and Structural Effect under seismic load (초고층 건물의 기둥축소와 지진하중에 대한 구조적 영향)

  • The necessity of a high-rise building in big cities gave a new problem to structural engineers. The shortening effect of vertical members needs special considerstion in the desigh and construction of high-rise buildings. The shortening of each column transfers load to nonstructural members such as partitions, cladding, and M/E systems which are not designed to carry gravity loads. Also, the slabs and beams will tilt due to the cumulative differential shortening of adjacent vertical members. The main purpose of estimating the total shortening of vertical structural members is to compensate the differential shortening between adjacent members. This paper presents the structural effect of differential shortening between in main structural members. Lateral earthquake load is applied to the 52 story concrete structure which has an initial vertical displacement due to the gravity load. Shortening amount for each vertical member was estimated using the computerized column shortening software. Comparison of stresses between the shortening corrected structure and the uncorrecated structure due to earthquake load was discussed.

  • 본 논문에서는 Motorola사의 MPC555마이크로프로세서를 탑재하여 개발한 제어보드가 소개된다. 이 보드를 사용하여 하이브리드 전기자동차의 발전기를 제어하는 실험을 수행하였다. MFC555는 전력시스템 제어에 필요한 다양한 입출력 장치를 내장하고 있어서 통합제어를 위한 one-chip solution을 가능하게 해 준다. MPC555는 내부 플래시 메모리가 비교적 대용량(448kbytes)이고 부동 소수점 연산이 가능하다. 또한 A/D 채널이 32개이고 SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface) 모듈 1개, SCI(Serial Communication Interface) 모듈 2개, CAN(Contol Area Network) 모듈 2개 등의 다양한 통신채널을 내장하고 있다. MPC555는 TPU(Time Processing Unit) 채널 32개로 다양한 timing function을 구현할 수 있게 해 준다. 개발된 제어 보드를 이용하여 하이브리드 전기자동차의 유도발전기 시스템에 대한 축소 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

The Freezing Characteristics of Pavement Layer Using the Field Road Model Test (현장도로 모형실험을 이용한 포장구성층의 동결 특성 분석)

  • Korea is considered to be a seasonal frozen soil area that thaws in the spring, and freezes in winter. In the current design codes for anti-freezing layer, the thickness of anti-freezing layer is calculated by the depth frozen due to the temperature condition. Therefore, there is a tendency of over-design and applying uniform thickness without the consideration of thermal stability, bearing capacity and frost susceptibility of materials. So, it is essential to study the structural appropriateness of pavement layer and bearing capacity besides the seasonal and mechanical properties of pavement materials to take an appropriate and reasonable design of the road structure. In this paper, the evaluation of frost susceptibility on subgrade, ant-freezing layer, subbase was conducted by means of the mechanical characteristics and model experiment. The temperature, heaving amount, unfrozen water contents and freezing depth of soil samples, the subgrade, anti-freezing layer, subbase soils of road construction site were measured to determine the frost susceptibility.
