People often use haptic experience as a basis for their preference decisions and value judgments, assuming that haptic experience with a product results from the properties of the products. However, research has suggested that unplanned haptic experience, which does not arise from the properties of the product itself, can also influence people's preference and value evaluation (Ackerman, Nocera, & Bargh, 2010). In this study, in order to verify (1) if such unplanned or accidental haptic experience changes user's cognitive tendency and (2) if accidental haptic experience leads to misattribution of the cause of haptic experience, two hypotheses were suggested and empirically investigated. Participants of the experiment were exposed to certain products on a display of a tablet PC and asked to decide on the maximum price they were willing to pay for each product. The products displayed on the screen were made up of either soft material or hard material. Results of the experiment revealed that accidental haptic experience had an effect on participants' value evaluation of products via altering their cognitive inclinations. Possible applicability of accidental haptic experiences that occur in various situations were discussed.

This research was conducted to determine the alternative tool of chemical spray for rice cultivation using the unmanned helicopter(Yamaha, R-Max Type 2G-remote controlled system) at farmer's field in Korea. The unmanned helicopter tested was introduced form Japan. In Korea the application of chemicals by machine sprayer for pest management in rice cultivation has been ordinarily used at the farmer's level. However, it involved a relatively high cost and laborious for the small scale of cultivation per farm household. Farm population has been highly decreased to 7.5% in 2002 and the population is expected to rapidly reduce by 3.5% in 2012. In Japan, pest control depending on unmanned helicopter has been increased by leaps and bounds. This was due in part to the materialization of the low-cost production technology under agricultural policy and demand environmentally friendly farm products. The practicability of the unmanned helicopter in terms of super efficiency and effectiveness has been proven, and the farmers have understood that the unmanned helicopter is indispensable in the future farming system that they visualized. Also, the unmanned helicopter has been applied to rice, wheat, soybean, vegetables, fruit trees, pine trees for spraying chemicals and/or fertilizers in Japan Effect of disease control by unmanned helicopter was partially approved against rice blast and sheath blight. However, the result was not satisfactory due to the weather conditions and cultural practices. The spray density was also determined in this experiment at 0, 15, 30, and 60cm height from the paddy soil surface and there was 968 spots at 0cm, 1,560 spots at 15cm, 1,923 spots at 30cm, and 2,999 spots at 60cm height. However, no significant difference was found among the treatments. At the same time, there was no phytotoxicity observed under the chemical stray using this unmanned helicopter, nor the rice plant itself was damaged by the wind during the operation.
In this study, Biodegradable masterbatch (M/B) was prepared by different kinds and content of biodegradable catalysts added to oxo biodegradable plastics. The bio film was prepared by adding biodegradable M/B to the polyethylene pellet, and the change of physical properties by UV and heat treatment and the stability as food packaging material were confirmed. As a result of the physical property change, Fe salt and Al salt bio film was superior to Ni salt bio film about a decrease in physical property. However, considering the raw material cost and industrial availability, M/B containing Fe salt was selected and additional experiments were conducted by concentration. The bio films prepared with Fe salt M/B 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 wt% showed excellent physical properties.

The rapid economic development induced the massive road constructions, becoming bigger and high-speed of the vehicles. However, it brings lots of social problems, such as air pollutions, traffic noise and vibration. Special concrete block for the base course of asphalt pavement is needed to decrease traffic noise such as tire's explosive and vehicles sound, applying Helmholtz Resonators theory to asphalt pavement. If it is applied to the area where it happens considerable noise such as a junction, the street of a housing complex and a residential street, it is one of considerable method to solve the social requirements of noise problem. This research examines couple of laboratory tests for the sound absorption effect of the concrete block and the base concrete block. There are specimens which is fixed hall-size, space, depth as the condition of this research, and these are analysed of noise decrease effect using different condition of the first noise of each vehicle. As a result of analysis data according to vehicle noise volume, measurement distance, a form and size of the hall using the base concrete block, the use of special concrete base showed a good alternative solution for decreasing traffic noise level, from 4 dB to 9 dB.
To investigate the incidence of plant-parasitic nematodes from plastic-house fields of strawberry, 170 soil samples were collected from the main producing area of strawberry in Korea from 2014 to 2015. Based on the investigation, root-lesion nematode (RLN; Pratylenchus spp.) and root-knot nematode (RKN; Meloidogyne spp.) are the most important pests in plastic-house fields of strawberry with 57% and 36% incidences, respectively. Among the collected fields, 96 and 63 fields were infected RNL and RKN, respectively with 44 fields (38.8%) being detected at both nematode. High degree of incidence of both nematodes were observed in the regions of Jinju, Gyeonnam Province, Korea. For identification of species level, phylogenetic and distance analysis were performed using RLN and RKN isolates generated from the regions of Jinju. The results indicated that the RLN and RKN isolates were Pratylenchus vulnus and Meloidogyne hapla, respectively. This study showed that P. vulnus and M. hapla could be most dominant species in plastic-house fields of strawberry. This data will provide basic knowledge for development of effective control strategies.
With the spread of COVID-19 worldwide, non-face-to-face services have grown rapidly, but at the same time, the problem of plastic waste is getting worse. Accordingly, eco-friendly policies such as carbon neutrality and sustainable circular economy are being promoted worldwide. Due to the high demand for eco-friendly products, the packaging industry is trying to develop eco-friendly packaging materials using PLA and PBAT and create new business models. On the other hand, Ulva australis occurs in large quantities in the southern seas of Korea and off the coast of Jeju Island, causing marine environmental problems. In this study, lactic acid was produced through dilute acid pretreatment, enzymatic saccharification, and fermentation processes to utilize Ulva australis as a new alternative energy raw material. In general, seaweeds vary in carbohydrate content and sugar composition depending on the species, harvest location, and time. Seaweed is mainly composed of polysaccharides such as cellulose, alginate, mannan, and xylan, but does not contain lignin. It is difficult to expect high extraction yield of the complex polysaccharide constituting Ulva australis with only one process. However, the fusion process of dilute acid and enzymatic saccharification presented in this study can extract most of the sugars contained in Ulva australis. Therefore, the fusion process is considered to be able to expect high lactic acid production yield when a commercial-scale production process is established.

Barrier films for transparent packaging materials with excellent moisture barrier properties are prepared, utilizing a nanoclay dispersion coating layer formed after a pretreatment process of plasma activation surface treatment process under vacuum at room temperature. Attention is paid on optimizing the coupling additive through the appropriate crosslinking process and optimal dispersion process of the coating process to enhance adhesion. Analysis of the functional coating thin film shows that the water vapor transmission rate is less than 10 g/m2/24 hrs (ASTM F-1249) and the oxygen transmission rate is less than 30 cc/m2/24 hrs (ASTM D3985). It is shown that water barrier properties of coating thin film prepared in this study are greater than conventional untreated films by 10 times or more. The thickness of the transparent gas barrier film is within 0.1 mm, and the transparent gas barrier complex is implemented in two layers. In the study of PET thin film interface characteristics, FT-IR experimental analysis shows the reaction activity was optimized at RDS 1.125 %.
Preservative effects of natural preservatives, citric acid and salt on chopped garlic were investigated. Bacterial multiplying and browning of chopped garlic were very effectively repressed by 0.5-1% citric acid. Salt had an effect on the repression of bacteria multiplying and browning of chopped garlic except for 1% NaCl. Synergistic effect between citric acid and NaCl was also very good for decreasing bacteria multiplying and maintaining Hunter color of chopped garlic. Compounded effect of the GF. citric acid. and ascorbic acid was somewhat proper in the sensory evaluation of chopped garlic. And the sensory evaluation score was the highest in chopping size 3mm(diameter) and viscosity 4500cp. of chopped garlic.

A novel antibacterial paper coated with chitosan-based silver (Ag) nanocomposite prepared by green synthesis has been investigated for a wide range of application in food, agricultural and medical packaging. Green synthesis of Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) was carried out by a chemical reaction involving a mixture of chitosan-silver nitrate (AgNO3) in an autoclave at 15 psi, $121^{\circ}C$, for 15-120 sec. AgNPs and their formation in chitosan were confirmed by both UV-Vis spectroscopy and transmission electron microscope (TEM). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) study showed that free amino groups in chitosan act as an effective reductant and AgNPs stabilizer. Antibacterial test of coated paper with as-prepared chitosan-AgNPs was performed qualitatively against E. coli based on the formation of halo zones around coated papers and it was shown to be effective in suppressing the growth of E. coli with increasing Ag contents in coating layer.
Sol-gel process is relatively simple, easy to use, cheap to install, and results in thin coating layers with superior physical and gas barrier properties. Films coated by the sol-gel process can be used as insulating films or packaging films for foods, chemicals, drugs, and beverages, etc. In this study, alumina sol was synthesized from aluminum isopropoxide and silane coupling agent was added to make coating solutions. In addition, biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) was coated using several alumina sol solutions and their oxygen permeabilities were measured. The experimental results indicate that in the best case, the oxygen permeability of coated film was reduced by 85% compared to that of pure BOPP.
