특집 : 극한환경재료기술 - 초고온 세라믹 복합 재료 개발현황

  • 최근 산업의 고도화에 따른 부품 소재의 고성능화에 따라 기존의 고온 세라믹의 한계를 극복하기 위한 노력으로 초고온 세라믹 재료에 대한 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 초고온 세라믹은 대부분 붕화물이나 탄화물인 비산화물 세라믹으로 3000도 이상의 녹는점을 갖으며 2000도 부근에서는 사용을 목표로 하고 있다. 이 재료는 다른 세라믹들과 마찬가지로 취성파괴 거동을 나타내며, 이를 보완하기 위한 섬유강화 복합재료화도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본고에서는 고온용 세라믹 장섬유와 세라믹 복합재료, 그리고 초고온 세라믹의 개발 현황과 산업화 전망을 정리하였다. 또한 초고온 세라믹의 발전 방향을 전망하였으며, 재료연구소에서 수행중인 초고온 세라믹의 연구 활동에 대해 간략히 언급하였다.

Estimation of Vertical Load Capacity of PCFT Hybrid Composite Piles Using Dynamic Load Tests (동재하시험을 통한 긴장력이 도입된 콘크리트 충전 강관말뚝을 사용한 복합말뚝의 연직지지력 평가)

  • To determine the optimum dynamic load test analysis for PCFT (Prestressed Concrete Filled steel Tube) hybrid composite piles that PCFT piles are connected to the top of PHC piles, the dynamic load tests and CAPWAP analyses were performed on two hybrid composite piles with steel pipe and PCFT piles as upper piles. The results of the dynamic load tests and CAPWAP analyses showed that the particle velocity measured in PCFT hybrid composite piles was equal to the wave speed of PHC piles when the strain gauges and accelerometers are attached to the surface of inner composite PHC pile after removing the steel pipe in the upper PCFT pile. In addition, when assuming that the material of that upper PCFT pile was the same as that of the lower PHC pile and the cross-sectional area of the steel pipe in upper PCFT pile was converted to that for concrete through the pile model (PM) in CAPWAP analysis, the accuracy of the CAPWAP analysis result for PCFT hybrid composite piles was very high.

Manufacturing and in vitro Characterization of Composite Drug Delivery System (DDS) (복합재 약물전달 시스템의 제작 및 체외 환경 특성 평가)

  • The Rapid Prototyping (RP) technology has advanced in many application areas. In this research, implantable Drug Delivery System (DDS) was fabricated by an RP system, Nano Composite Deposition System (NCDS). The DDS composite consists of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), as drug particles, and PLGA85/15 as biodegradable polymer matrix. To have larger surface area, the DDS was fabricated in a scaffold shape, and its degradation was tested in vitro environment. Biocompatible Hydroxyapatite (HA) powders were added to the drug-polymer composite in order to control drug release. Test results showed a possibility of controlled release of scaffold DDS over 50 days.

A Study on Tensile Properties of Laminated Nanocomposite Fabricated by Selective Dip-Coating of Carbon Nanotubes (탄소나노튜브의 선택적 딥코팅을 이용해 제작된 적층 복합재료의 인장 물성에 대한 연구)

  • Carbon nanotubes reinforced copper matrix laminated nanocomposites were developed and the mechanical properties were evaluated by using micro-tensile testing system. Sandwich-type laminated structure constituted with carbon nanotube layers as a reinforcement and electroplated copper matrix were fabricated by a new processing approach based on selective dip-coating of carbon nanotubes. The mechanical properties of nanocomposites were improved due to an enhanced load sharing capacity of carbon nanotubes homogeneously distributed within the in-plane direction, as well as a bridging effect of carbon nanotubes along the out-of-plane direction between the upper and lower matrices. The universality of the layering approach is applicable to a wide range of functional materials, and here we demonstrate its potential use in reinforcing composite materials.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 관용알고리즘을 비교 분석하고, 유무선 복합 통신망에서의 고속화를 위해 요구되는 암호알고리즘을 비교 분석한다. 기존에 사용되고 있는 블록 알고리즘의 경우, 고비도에 의해서 소프트웨어적 혹은 하드웨어적으로 설계하였을 경우, 현재의 이동통신망에 사용을 하였을 경우, 속도의 차이에 의해 사용이 불가능하다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이동통신 환경망에 적합한 블록알고리즘을 제안하고 분석하고자 한다.

Development of Carbon Composite Bipolar Plates for PEMFC (양성자 교환막 연료전지용 탄소 복합재료 분리판 개발)

  • The proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) system has many potential uses as an environmentally friendly power source. Carbon fiber composite bipolar plates are highly corrosion resistant and have high specific strength and stiffness in acidic environments, however, the relatively low electrical conductivity is a major issue which reduces the efficiency of PEMFC. In this study, electrically conductive particles (graphite powder and carbon black) are applied to carbon-epoxy composite prepregs to reduce the electrical resistance of the bipolar plates. The electrical resistance and mechanical properties are measured using conventional test methods, and a unit cell performance evaluation of developed carbon composite bipolar plates is performed to compare with the conventional bipolar plate.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate that the effect of Citrex and CPC on the growth of oral microorganism such as Streptococcus mutans KCTC 3065, Candida albicans KCTC 7122, and Staphylococcus aureus KCTC 1916 which were cariogenic, candidiasis(bleeding gum, dry mouth and tongue, thrush) and angular cheilitis inducing bacteria, respectively. The efficacy of complex of Citrex and CPC was determined in assays measuring Halo Test. The gargle containing Citrex(0.02%) and CPC(0.02%) demonstrated broad-spectrum anti-microbial properties, with activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative and a yeast(Candida albicans).

  • A Hardware system of hybrid environmental control was developed for using it in the multi-greenhouse. Now, an on/off control system is most utilized in protected cultivation, but a hybrid environmental control system is not yet. This system consists of a hardware to be devided by physical elements and a software for the hardware a personal computer, a hybrid environmental control and a communication Program for modules. The hardware was made of several independent modules with independent CPU. Each module was made to slots. which are very convenient to mount and take off. Also, they are managed easily to repair, add, remove, and change of their function and expansion. The software for a personal computer was a menu driven program written in visual basic within a Windows environment for easy applications by a user. The hybrid environmental control software have operating factors operate continuously with temperature, humidity and others in greenhouse. Communication programs were used both 485 communication method for long distance communication between modules and CRC communication method for making easy to program, and less errors between personal computer and modules.

  • Composites are materials that are widely used in industries such as automobile and aircraft. The composite material is required as a material for using in a high temperature environment as well as acting as a high pressure environment like the nozzle part of the ship. It is important to know the properties of composites. Result values obtained substituting the properties of matrix and fiber numerically have an large error compared with experimental value. In this study we utilize CASADsolver EDISON program for using Finite Element Method. Properties by substituting the fiber and Matrix properties of the composite material properties were compared with those measured in the experiment and calculated by the empirical properties.

A Study on Degradation in the Moisture Environment and Recovery of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Composites (탄소섬유 강화 복합재료의 수분에 의한 열화 및 회복에 관한 연구)

  • The effect of moisture absorption on the mechanical properties in carbon fiber reinforced composites has been investigated with various moisture environment such as sea water, tap water and distilled water. It also has been studied about the influence of drying of the immersed specimen for a certain period of time on the mechanical properties. As a result, we found that the ratio of moisture absorption mainly depended on the immersion time in the moisture environment and that of the immersed specimen for a certain period of time decreased with the drying time. We also found that tensile strength decreased with the increasing of the ratio of moisture absorption and the tensile strength decreased by moisture absorption recovered up to some extent by drying the specimen.
