In coastal waters, phytoplankton, suspended particulate matter, and dissolved organic matter intricately and nonlinearly alter the reflectivity of seawater. Neural network technology, which has been rapidly advancing recently, offers the advantage of effectively representing complex nonlinear relationships. In previous studies, a three-stage neural network was constructed to extract the inherent optical properties of each component. However, this study proposes an algorithm that directly employs a deep neural network. The dataset used in this study consists of synthetic data provided by the International Ocean Color Coordination Group, with the input data comprising above-surface remote-sensing reflectance at nine different wavelengths. We derived inherent optical properties using this dataset based on a deep neural network. To evaluate performance, we compared it with a quasi-analytical algorithm and analyzed the impact of log transformation on the performance of the deep neural network algorithm in relation to data distribution. As a result, we found that the deep neural network algorithm accurately estimated the inherent optical properties except for the absorption coefficient of suspended particulate matter (R2 greater than or equal to 0.9) and successfully separated the sum of the absorption coefficient of suspended particulate matter and dissolved organic matter into the absorption coefficient of suspended particulate matter and dissolved organic matter, respectively. We also observed that the algorithm, when directly applied without log transformation of the data, showed little difference in performance. To effectively apply the findings of this study to ocean color data processing, further research is needed to perform learning using field data and additional datasets from various marine regions, compare and analyze empirical and semi-analytical methods, and appropriately assess the strengths and weaknesses of each algorithm.
Recently software agent has been studied as a new abstraction unit of software engineering. The agent with autonomous, adaptability and cooperation attribute is accepted as a new abstraction unit especially in distributed systems, open systems, and complex systems. However, the progress of agent research has been slow and the realization of agent programming language seems to be far distant. Because the properties of agent are diverse, the opinions of researchers can not converge to one. In this situation, software agent framework is accepted more realistic alternative solution. However the knowledge for its development doesn't have been shared among developers. So they often have to make same errors. We will help sharing of knowledge and experience by using pattern language which has been used in object technology for long times. This paper proposes a reactive agent framework pattern language and validates it based on ATAM[l] The increase of such indirect experience can reduce the waste of resource by preventing the same try and error. So agent framework developers are able to concentrate on more essential issues. Finally quality of software agent framework will be increased.
While variety of cases of studies about asbestos analysis methods are released internationally, the results of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) according to differences in the method of the analysis is becoming an issue. In this study, homogeneity ensured ACM samples were analyzed by visual estimation method and point counting method, and the result cound be used not only to improve the reliability on asbestos analysis of the institutions and analysts but also to obtain the basic data of Polarizing Light Microscope (PLM) analysis by comparing and evaluating. Asbestos analysis were divided into qualitative and quantitative analysis method. The quantitative analysis was performed by visual estimation method and point counting method (total 400 points) of EPA 600-R-93-116 method by using PLM. Firstly, The following was the result of homogeneity of the samples by ANOVA (Analysis of variance) and the results were satisfied. The results of qualitative analysis showed that the samples were chrysotile and amosite, and about the results of quantitative analysis, asbestos concentration determined by point counting method tend to be lower than concentrations determined by visual estimation method and also, pont counting method was a little more complicated and time-consuming.
Artificially or naturally contained texts in the natural images have significant and detailed information about the scenes. If we develop a method that can extract and recognize those texts in real-time, the method can be applied to many important applications. In this paper, we suggest a new method that extracts the text areas in the natural images using the low-level image features of color continuity. gray-level variation and color valiance and that verifies the extracted candidate regions by using the high-level text feature such as stroke. And the two level features are combined hierarchically. The color continuity is used since most of the characters in the same text lesion have the same color, and the gray-level variation is used since the text strokes are distinctive in their gray-values to the background. Also, the color variance is used since the text strokes are distinctive in their gray-values to the background, and this value is more sensitive than the gray-level variations. The text level stroke features are extracted using a multi-resolution wavelet transforms on the local image areas and the feature vectors are input to a SVM(Support Vector Machine) classifier for the verification. We have tested the proposed method using various kinds of the natural images and have confirmed that the extraction rates are very high even in complex background images.
Generally, several hydrological characteristics which can be obtained from geographic processing in GIS S/W would be utilized to actual hydrological applications such as landslide stability or drainage analysis. Furthermore, by using practical GIS extension programs, it can be possible that automatic extraction task of those information, which was time-consuming and complex processing, is performed as systematical and automatic processing. In this study, using ArcView GIS S/W and its extensions concerning hydrological processing, some waterflow and surface factors in the area of Yemi sheet scaled 1:50,000 were extracted. Then, assessment of landslide stability, determined by DEM-based variables were carried out in order to investigate practical applicability of extension programs. It is thought that several hydrological factors extracted by this study were significant information to predict field model or hydrological hazardous events. It also reveals that landslide potential is overall stable with stability index mapping and S-A plot, with theoretical basis. This methodology can be applicable to other areas related to hydrological characteristics with measurements in fields.
Thermal conditions in practice at the traditional bronze workshop of the Korean Folk Village in Yongin were examined along with the microstructures of some high tin bronze objects made there. Laboratory experiments approximating the conditions of the workshop were also carried out and the results were compared. The operating temperature of the workshop furnace was measured to range from $750^{\circ}C$ to $850^{\circ}C$ while the surface temperature of an object, upon its removal from the furnace for additional thermo-mechanical treatments, was generally in the range of $600^{\circ}C$ to $685^{\circ}C$. This variation in working temperatures was reflected in varying microstructures developed upon quenching. The products of the Folk Village were found to consist of microstructures where the ${\alpha}$ grains of the Cu-Sn system were distributed in the background of different phases including the ${\beta}$-martensite phase, retained ${\gamma}$ phase, ${\alpha}+{\delta}$ eutectoid or their mixtures. This variability, which is also identified in objects made in ancient times as well as in our laboratory experiments, suggests that the actual thermal conditions given during the quenching treatments are much more complicated than is inferred from the temperature measurements. This paper will present detailed accounts of the thermo-mechanical treatments as observed in the high tin bronze workshop of the Korean Folk Village and discuss the evolution of varying microstructures in terms of the substantial variability involved in the implementation of the traditional forged high tin bronze technology of Korea.
Recently, the computing has developing in distributed object computing environment for supporting a programming paradigm of distributed application requiring interoperability between heterogeneous clients and servers. It involves the complex networking and the object-oriented technologies for various multimedia application service. In this paper, we construct the real-time object group platform for solving the difficulties of managements of distributed objects and the real-time constraints by requiring for real-time service supporting of applications in distributed computing environment. The existing researches are being tried to only improving the performance of systems by using real-time CORBA itself, or modifying the part of CORBA compliance. Hence, we design a new model of real-time object group platform that can support the real-time requirement without modifying the ORB. The structure of our real-time object group analyzed and defined the requirement about object management and real-time application service sides. And the role of the components of real-time object group is divided into 2 classes for reducing the side effect of interoperability between management and service. Also, we considered how to transparently express the parameters of real-time properties for clients and developers of server's service objects. If the expression of real-time parameters is transparent, then the developer can easily extend the real-time parameters simply and flexibly. Therefore, in this paper we defined the role of components of platform and described functions of each component and designed and then implemented the real-time object group platform. Finally, we showed the execution procedures of implemented our platform for verifying the functionality.
Capillary electrophoresis (CE) method was developed to determine (+)-catechin and (-)-epicatechin contents in grape seed ethanol extract. CE separation was achieved using 100 mM phosphate and borate buffer at pH 6.0 as background electrolyte and fused silica capillary with 50 microns x 375 microns O.D. (effective length 20.0cm) maintained at $25^{\circ}C$. The applied voltage was 10kV, and detection was performed by DAD at 210 nm, Two catechins were well separated within 6 min with repeatability of <0.8% RSD for migration time and <2.0% RSD for peak area, and correlation coefficients higher than 0.994 were obtained from 58.0 to 174.0 mg/L with detection limit of 0.035 mg/L. Separated compounds were successfully determined. CE method was easy to handle and showed good reproducibility. CE method was compared with conventional coloring and HPLC methods, and main advantages of CE method were low amount of sample required, simple pre-sample treatment, good recovery rate, and short analysis time.

Toxin profiles of the paralytic shellfish poison (PSP) detected from domestic shellfishes collected at the market and imported. shellfishes were invested by fluorometric HPLC. Total 9 components in PSP were analysed from the imported ark shell, such as saxitoxin (STX), decarbamoylsaxitoxin (dcSTX), gonyautoxin (GTX) - 1,2,3,4,5, Cl and C2. Among those toxins, 7 components except for GTX1,4 were detected from domestic shellfishes and showed different toxin contents and toxin compositions by species. Only C group toxin (Cl +2) contained in short necked clam and hard clam $(0.06\~0.56\;nmole/g)$ which living under soil but, in the blue mussels and oysters which cultured in the open sea water, showed more higher toxicity and complicate toxin compositions. Toxin compositions in bloody clam and purplish washington clam were very different in some samples even in same species. GTX4 and GTX5 were higher in imported scallop and STX was higher in imported ark shell than other species.

Magai Wareiishi Jizo (Buddhist statue carved on rock surface) is close to shoreline and a part of rock block is periodically immersed by seawater. Rock material of the Wareiishi-jizo statue is composed mainly of medium or coarse-grained biotite granite and very durable. However, physical properties of the rock have been changed according to the complex interactions of the salt solution and surrounding environment. Exfoliation of the rock surface is a serious condition by salt crystallization. Exfoliation (14.6%) is concentrated on the upper part of the rock block with mainly boundary of seawater as the center. On the other hand, lower part of the rock block show black layers by contaminants deposition. In addition, brown discoloration and biological contaminants is overlapped. Rock surface show high discoloration rate of 50.5% (black discoloration, 29.2% > yellow discoloration, 14.1% > brown discoloration, 4.4% > green discoloration, 2.9%). Upper part of the rock block had a lot of change in the physical properties than lower part that is immersed by seawater. In particular, surface properties of the rock block was very weak state at the boundary surface of seawater permeation.
