The purpose of this study is for fundamental research of meditation smart wear for physical and mental healing, and researching method for monitoring phase of meditation through textile by measuring the number of abdominal respiration when meditating. For this purpose, the research implemented Single Wall Carbon Nano-Tube (SWCNT) based strain gauges type textile sensor, considered reliability and validity of respiratory sensing, and analyzed efficiency of respiratory sensing based on body parts comparatively. The first preliminary experiment was to evaluate the performance of textile sensor through abdominal model dummy which open and shut of 5 cm repeatedly for 2 minutes at the rate of 0.1Hz in order to simulate abdominal respiration. It concluded signal efficiency between reference sensor(BIOPAC) and textile respiratory sensor appears statistically significant (p<0.001). The second experiment were conducted with 4 subjects doing abdominal respiration under same conditions, and after comparing the signal values between two sensors from 4 attached locations(around center and sides of omphali and phren), center of omphali and sides of phren were selected as suitable location for measuring meditational breathing as they showed large and stable signals. In result, this research aimed for implementing of the textile sensor for sensing meditational breathing of long respiration cycle, review of reliability and validity for sensing number of meditational respiration with the sensor and consideration of sensing efficiency by sensing location on body parts.
Shear behaviors of eight dapped ends of four full-scale domestic single-tee slabs were evaluated. The dapped ends with 10cm topping concrete were designed based on live load requirements for the domestic parking lot of m 500kgf/㎡ and for the large market of 1,200 kgf/㎡. All specimens were designed by the ACI 318-99 design. The variations of the experiment were the shape of hanger reinforcements as followings: 1) general PCI design method(currently used in domestic), 2) 90 degree bent-up, 3) 60 degree bent-up. All experiments were conducted with 1.2 m shear span. The results obtained in this study were 1) all specimens fully complied with the shear strength requirements as specified by ACI 318-99 except for one strand bond slip specimen, 2)a specimen with the 60 degree bent up hanger reinforcing detail showed the best shear behaviors under full service and ultimate load, and 3)a specimen with the 90 degree bent up hanger reinforcing detail resulted in the worst shear behaviors.
The larval stages of Hemigrapsus sanguineus were reared in the laboratory and described with illustrative figures. Five zoeal and one megalopal stages were found in the complete larval development. At 25^{\circ}C.$, the megalopa and the first crab instar were attained in 18 and 31 days after hatching, respectively. The first zoeal larva of H. sanguineus showed the characteristics ~ h i c h coincide with those of the same genus by bearing lateral spines on carapace, B-types of telson and antenna, 1 +5 setae on the endopod of maxillule, and 2 + 2 setae on the endopod of maxilla. Morphological features of H. sanguineus larvae were compared to the previous descriptions of larvae of the same genus and morphological differences among them were discussed.
A Differentiating pathway of hemocytes in vitro and in vivo of grasshopper, Euprepocnemis shirakii was described using light and electron microscopes. In the interior of body, the stem cells of the hemopoietic organ differentiated into six types of cells respectively which are prohemoyte, plasmatocyte, granulocyte I, granulocyte II, spherulocyte and oenocytoid. The formation of these hemocytes was derived from the stem cells surrounded by a reticular cell. Hemopoietic tissue cultured in the insect media differentiated different hemocytes, but none of them underwent any mitotic division. Morphological features of the cultured cells in media were essentially the same as those of the hemocytes differentiated from the stem cells in vivo. These results were shown that each stem cell could differentiate into different types of hemocytes. It was confirmed that the stem cells possessed the pluripotent differentiation ability to directly each hemocyte, and that the once formed hemocytes in vivo and in vitro didn t undergo further transformation to other hemocytes. The maintenance of circulating hemocytes in grasshopper had been depended on the widely spreading hemopoietic organ situated in the upper surface of the dorsal alary muscle and located on the first to eighth segments.
Immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-related disease is a systemic disease characterized by dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltrates with abundant IgG4-positive plasma cells and fibroblast proliferation. The retroperitoneal involvement of IgG4-related disease usually appears as a soft-tissue mass covering the abdominal aorta or entrapping the ureters, resulting in hydronephrosis. Here, we present a case of IgG4-related disease with retroperitoneal involvement in a 75-yearold woman with an unusual manifestation. A preoperative computed tomography (CT) scan revealed an irregular infiltrative retroperitoneal mass invading the normal anatomic barriers, raising the suspicion of malignancy or inflammation. Contrast-enhanced CT revealed a homogeneous progressive enhancement of the mass.
Studies were made on the morphology and life cycle of the mite, Pyemotes tritici $Lagr{\acute{e}}z$-Fossot & $Montagn{\acute{e}}$ (Trombidiformes; Pyemotidea) ,parasitic on larvae of cigarette beetle, Lasioderma serricorne F., which is one of the most serious pests of stored tobacco, cigar, and cigarette in Korea. One generation time was $20.9{\pm}0.7$ days out of which $9.5{\pm}0.3$ days were spent for feeding and $10.3{\pm}0.8$ days for reproduction of progenies. A female of this insect-parasitic mite produced $56.7{\pm}6.9$ progenies during her reproduction period. The body size of a newly-laid male or female was $280{\mu}m$ long and $85{\mu}m$ wide. As female of this mite sucked on, their abdomen grew larger and larger to reach $825{\mu}m$ in width and $0.346mm^3$ in volume after $9{\sim}10$ days. By sucking the humor of a host, the abdomen of a female mite became almost a global shape in two days. The increase rate of abdominal width was the biggest on the second or the third day of feeding while the volume of abdomen reached to the largest on $6{\sim}8$ days after feeding. The largest number of the daily young produced on 4-th day after a female began to reproduce.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the usefulness of positron emission tomography (PET)-computed tomography (CT) in the pre-operative staging of gastric cancer. Materials and Methods: Between February 2006 and August 2008, PET-CT and CT were performed on 70 patients diagnosed with gastric cancer by gastrofiberscopic biopsy. The sensitivities, specificities, Positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) of PET-CT and CT imaging for the detection of gastric cancer TNM staging were compared. Results: The detection rates for the primary tumor were as follows: PET-CT, 81.4% (57/70); and CT, 42.9% (30/70). For both early gastric cancer (EGC) and advanced gastric cancer (AGC), PET-CT was more accurate than CT in detecting the lesions. As the size of the tumor exceeded 3 cm, the detection rate increased. The sensitivities, specificities, PPV, and NPV of PET-CT for lymph node staging were 55.6%, 81%, 86.2%, and 45.9%, while the sensitivities, specificities, PPV, and NPV of CT were 40.0%, 85.7%, 85.7% and 40%, respectively. One case of multiple liver metastasis and two cases of dual primary cancer (rectal and pancreatic cancers) were detected by PET-CT. PET-CT also had a higher detection rate for all histologic types of primary tumors. PET-CT was more accurate than CT in detecting primary gastric cancer lesions. The detection of nodal metastasis by PET-CT was similar to CT; small-sized tumors or EGC detection rates were not high. However, PET-CT provided additional information to detect distant metastases and dual primary cancers and reduced unnecessary laparotomies to detect peritoneal seeding or carcinomatosis. Conclusion: It would be useful to make a pre-operative diagnosis of gastric cancer and determine treatment if PET-CT were added to other routine pre-operative studies.
The purpose of this study is to propose an economic new type rib by applying plate stiffening methods of the corrugated plate and the honey-comb sandwich panel to the steel deck plate and comparing the new type rib with existing open and closed ribs. The trapezoidal corrugated type, ㄹ type, honey-comb type and ㅁ type ribs are considered as new type ribs and the moment and the steel volume are compared with that of open ribs and closed ribs. The results shows that the honey-comb type and ㅁ type ribs are good in aspects of economic feasibility and the ㅁ type is better than the honey-comb type. To make the ㅁ type rib applicable to the steel deck plate, the sensitivity analysis and parametric study are performed and the system to select the proper section under the particular stress condition is established. The closed rib of real bridges is compared with the ㅁ type rib of the proposed system and it is known that the new type rib is more economic. Therefore, more economic steel deck plates can be achieved by using the system proposed in this study for the plate stiffened with the new ㅁ type rib.
The transient acoustic fields formed by a 3.5 ㎒ curved linear array transducer which is commonly used in ultrasonic medical imaging system for diagnosis of abdomen are systematically analyzed to obtain new design parameters for the better acoustic image. In the analysis with an assumption of radiating waveform, element size, radius of curvature, amplitude apodization are considered as parameters giving constitutive relations with the fields. As simulation results, appropriate new parameters with the reduced curvature and elevation aperture and the apodization of Hamming window, which make an improved acoustic beam with lower side lobe levels than a conventional typical transducer, are obtained.
