Muscle Extraction and Fat Analysis in Abdominal Ultrasnography Images (복부 초음파 영상에서 근육 추출 및 지방 분석)

  • 본 논문에서는 복부 초음파 영상에서 복부 근육을 추출하고 추출된 근육 영역에서 지방을 분석하는 방법을 제안한다. 복부 초음파 영상에서 밝은 명암도를 가지는 근막 영역과 어두운 명암도를 가지는 근육 영역의 명암 대비를 강조하기 위해서 앤드 인 탐색 스트레칭 방법과 Multiple 연산을 적용한다. 평균 명암도와 명암 대비가 강조된 복부 초음파 영상에서 수직 방향의 명암도가 200이상인 픽셀들은 퍼지 이진화 기법을 적용하여 이진화한다. 이진화된 영상에서 외복사근 상단선을 추출한 후, 퍼지 이진화 기법이 적용된 영상과 합성한다. 합성된 영상에서 최종 근막 영역을 추출한다. 추출된 각각의 복부 근육 영역에 ART2 알고리즘을 적용하여 복부 근육 영역을 양자화한다. 양자화된 복부 근육 내의 영역을 분석하여 최종 지방 영역을 추출한다. 제안된 복부 근육 추출 및 지방 분석 방법을 실제 복부 초음파 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과, 추출된 복부 근육 영역에 ART2 알고리즘 기반 양자화 기법을 적용하여 지방을 추출하는 것이 복부비만을 분석하는데 도움이 되는 것을 영상 의학과 전문의를 통해 확인하였다.

Effect of Mechanical Massage on Body Composition, Waist Circumference and Abdominal Fat Area in Middle-aged Obese Women (복부부위에 대한 기계적 마사지 처치가 중년여성의 체성분, 허리둘레 및 복부지방면적 감소에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mechanical massage on abdominal region on the reduction of abdominal fat in obese middle aged women. 10 middle aged obese women were participated in as subjects and executed 20~30min's mechanical abdominal massage for 4 weeks. At the beginning and end of 4 week's treatment, measured body composition, waist circumference and abdominal fat area and analyzed using SPSS. As a result, there were significant decrease in body weight(p= .003), % bodyfat(p= .018), waist circumference(p= .029), VFA(p= .007), SFA(p= .045) and TFA(p= .007) according to 4 weeks' treatment. Considering these results, it can be suggested that mechanical massage treatment on abdominal region in middle aged obese women be a effective method to reduce abdominal fat and furthermore to prevent and cure cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome caused by obesity.

  • 생활수준의 향상과 식생활의 개선으로 복부지방의 과다축척은 여성에게 체형의 불균형을 초래하고, 심하면 요척추관절에 퇴행성병변이 유발되어 요통과 운동장애가 올 수 있다. 이러한 복부지방의 과다축척을 성형외과적 복벽 성형수술 방법으로는 지방흡인술(liposuction)과 피부지방절제술(dermolipectomy)의 2가지 방법이 있는데 적당한 환자의 선택, 적당한 수술방법의 선택 혹은 두가지 방법을 적당히 병용함으로 복부지방제거와 더불어 체형의 개선에 좋은 효과를 얻을 수 있다.

Usefulness of Abdominal Fat Measured by Computed Tomography and Bioelectric Impedance Analysis as an Obesity Index (컴퓨터단층촬영과 생체전기 저항 분석법으로 측정된 복부지방의 비만지표로서의 유용성)

  • For obesity management requires accurate measurement of abdominal fat. The purpose of this study was to find out the correlation between abdominal fat and lipid measured with BIA and CT. Secondly, This study investigate for usefulness of abdominal fat measured by BIA and CT as an obesity index. As a result, TG showed higher value in the overweight obese group than normal group but HDL showed lower value in the overweight obese group than normal group. TG and HDL appeared significantly relationship with by BIA and CT in the normal group. However, in the overweight obese group TG showed significantly relationship with the BIA. According to multiple regression analysis on BMF and TAF was affected by HDL in the normal group. And BMF, %BF was affected by TG in overweight obese group. In conclusion, abdominal fat showed significant correlation with lipid. Abdominal fat measured by BIA and CT to assess obesity index is considered as a useful way to evaluate.

Analysis of CT, MRI, DITI for the Diagnosis of Abdominal Obesity and Clinical Usefulness (복부 비만 진단을 위한 CT, MRI, DITI 분석 및 임상적 유용성)

  • This study was to find out the correlation between abdominal surface temperature and abdominal fat areas. CT and MRI methods have been used to assess abdominal fat area. Abdominal surface temperature according to abdominal fat area was also measured by DITI. 20 college students were selected as the subjects for the study. The results, showed that there were statistically different significance in abdominal fats measured by CT and MRI according to weight groups. Abdominal surface temperature gap were measured by DITI and there was a statistically significant difference in only T12 region. temperature gaps between weight groups were over $0.7^{\circ}C$. In conclusion, CT method is the most accurate method to measure abdominal fat. However, weak points are radiation exposure and high cost for study. The correlation between abdominal surface temperature and abdominal fat areas were strong. Therefore, DITI may be considered as useful convenient method to evaluate the abdominal obesity and clinical usefulness.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 복부 CT 영상에서 피부와 장기를 제외한 피하지방과 내장지방의 자동 분할이다. 복부지방은 피하지방과 내장지방으로 구분되는데 각 지방의 절대적 양과 더불어 내장 지방의 피하지방에 대한 비율역시 임상적으로 의미가 있다. 따라서 피하지방과 복부 지방의 양을 각각 측정한 후 그 비율을 계산하여 환자의 비만도를 알 수 있다. 이때 전문가의 수작업 없이 피하지방과 내장지방을 컴퓨터가 자동으로 분할하게 하여 빠른 시간에 효율적으로 지방의 양을 측정할 수 있도록 했다. 자동 분할 기법은 전문가의 보조 수단으로 오진단율을 줄이고 시간이 많이 소요되는 일을 간편하게 하는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

  • 내장지방은 성인병 발생 위험과 높은 관련이 있다. 내장비만인 사람들은 몸에 독소를 쌓아두고 있다고 생각하면 되는데, 한 번 쌓인 독소는 계속해서 체내에 남아 유해 활성산소를 반복해 발생시키면서 몸 속 세포들에게 해를 준다. 이처럼 복부비만은 건강의 적신호이다. 여름철 과다영양 섭취로 인해 복부비만이 의심된다면 지금부터 내장지방의 원인과 치료법에 대해 꼼꼼하게 살펴보고 각별한 주의를 기울이도록 하자.

The Usefulness of the Abdominal Computerized Tomography for the Diagnosis of Childhood Obesity and Its Correlation with Various Parameters of Obesity (소아 복부비만 진단을 위한 복부 전산화 단층 촬영의 유용성과 여러 지표와의 상관성 연구)

  • Purpose : Abdominal obesity is encountered as a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. However, the anthropometric cut-off value to estimate the cardiovascular risk, has not been suggested. This study was designed to find the relationship between the abdominal fat and various parameters of obesity to find the cardiovascular risk factors related to abdominal obesity and to establish practical methods to measure them. Methods : Twenty seven obese Korean adolescents of moderate to severe degree and 22 healthy adolescents were enrolled. The body mass index(BMI), arm circumference and skinfold thickness were measured. Furthermore, blood lipid, sugar, insulin and four different cytokines' levels were checked and the distribution of body composition was measured by bioelectrical impedance analysis. The subcutaneous and intra-abdominal fat thickness by abdominal ultrasonography(US) and the total and intra-abdominal fat area by abdominal computerized tomography(CT) were measured in the obese group. Results : The most accurate method to measure abdominal fat in children is abdominal CT and the fat mass measured by bioelectrical impedance was strongly correlated with it(r=0.954). It was also correlated with arm circumference, fat thickness measured by abdominal US, BMI, aspartate aminotransferase(AST), alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and triglyceride level. Conclusion : Abdominal CT is the most accurate method to measure intra-abdominal fat, and it can be replaced by abdominal US for cost effectiveness. The screening methods that can be used at school or in outpatient basis include bioelectrical impedance, waist/hip ratio, and arm circumference. The cardiovascular risk factors include leptin, triglyceride and insulin level.

The Effect of 12-week Music Rope Skipping Exercise on Serum Adiponectin Concentration and Abdominal Fat in Obese Boys Student in Present Middle School (12주간의 음악 줄넘기 운동이 비만 남자 중학생의 혈청 Adiponectin 농도와 복부지방에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to provide basic programs for addressing the growing problem of adolescent obesity by considering the effects of a music rope skipping-based exercise program to increase the student athletic ability on obesity, adiponectin and abdominal fat. The subjects were 23 male middle school students, 14-year-old to 16 years old, with a BMI of more than $25kg/m^2$ (experimental group 11, control group 12), who lack basic physical fitness physical health related fitness. The subjects received a 12 weeks music rope skipping exercise program. The program was carried out before and after the 12 weeks group music rope skipping exercise program. The adiponectin and abdominal fat measurements were compared with the degree of improvement. The BMI and adiponectin levels decreased significantly after the program. In addition, the visceral fat, subcutaneous adipose fat and total abdominal fat in summer decreased significantly.

The Correlations of Walking Exercise Program-Induced Abdominal Visceral Fat Loss with Metabolic Syndrome Risk Factors (걷기운동 프로그램에 의한 복부 내장지방의 감량과 대사증후군 위험인자 간의 관련성)

  • The purpose of current study was to investigate the correlations of walking exercise program-induced abdominal visceral fat loss with metabolic syndrome risk factors in middle-aged women. The walking exercise program was provided at a frequency of 3 sessions, respectively, per week for a duration of 12 weeks. Then, the subjects were classified into either those whose abdominal visceral fat loss belonged to low 25 percentile (low 25% group, n=8) or those whose abdominal visceral fat loss belonged to high 25 percentile(high 25% group, n=8) based on the amount of abdominal visceral fat loss induced by the walking exercise. Metabolic syndrome risk factors(waist circumference, triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol, fasting blood glucose, blood pressure) between groups according to the 12 weekly walking exercise program had no difference. In conclusion, the findings of the present study show that the walking exercise-induced total abdominal fat and visceral fat loss were positively relate to waist and blood pressure(SBP, DBP) and that the walking exercise-induced subcutaneous fat loss were positively relate to waist and blood pressure(SBP).
