Perception of Pre-service Teacher who Participated into Liaison Teacher on the Gifted Education (영재교육원의 보조교사 활동에 참여한 예비교사의 영재교육에 대한 인식)

  • The perception of pre-service teachers who participated as liaison teachers in the gifted education organization's different operating styles and the differences in the thoughts of these teachers were analyzed in this study. The inquiry survey was performed for 74 liaison teachers who had participated in the observational activities in the university annexed science gifted education center and the dormitory based gifted students education center supported by education of administration in Chungbuk Province. The individual in-depth interview was performed with 7 teachers based on the analyzed data. The perception of pre-service teachers who participated in as liaison teachers in the university annexed science gifted education center and the dormitory based gifted students education center was different from important element of the gifted and qualification of the teacher for gifted education. It was revealed that the differences between the education parts, education schedule and education methods of two the education centers, which were performed during the semester, influenced the perception of pre-service teachers who participated as the liaison teachers. The necessity of the systematic training on the observational skills and class contents were suggested as the essential support system for liaison teachers. The results of the study indicate that the gifted education organizations operating styles, the activities of liaison teachers, and pre-service teacher training program for gifted education emphasizes the long term actual guide experience at the education field for the gifted.

Usage intention and recognition of necessary functions for ICT-based care devices in older adults living alone (독거노인의 ICT 기반 돌봄 보조 기기 사용의향 및 필요 기능 인식에 대한 기술적 연구)

  • This study intended to examine the willingness to use as well as necessary functions for ICT-based care assistance devices in older adults living alone. A total of 241 older adults living alone from a city participated in the study. Study results show that many older adults living alone are willing to use ICT-based care assistance devices at their home and the functions of care assistance devices that they perceived as necessary were diverse. In addition, there were differences in perception of functional necessity by socio-demographics and medical and functional characteristics of older adults living alone. In particular, there were significant differences in the functions perceived as necessary according to the presence of osteoporosis, depression, insomnia, and limitations in daily activities. Our study findings suggest that the functions of ICT-based care devices should be developed in various ways in order to help healthy aging in place. Findings also imply that it is necessary to provide individualized services and customized care assistance devices according to individual's medical and functional characteristics and needs.

  • 시각 장애인의 보행 보조 장치는 보통 "흰 지팡이"라고 부르며, 이는 이동권 보장을 위한 최소한의 보조 장치이다. 본 논문에서는 시각 장애인에게 주변의 장애물 인식과 현재위치를 알려주어 보행에 도움을 줄 수 있는 장치의 설계 및 제작에 과하여 기술한다. 전체 시스템은 크게 두 부분으로 구성된다. 하는 주변의 장애물 인식을 위한 PSD 센서와 GPS 수신기, Bluetooth 모듈이 내장되어 있는 지팡이 부분이고, 다른 하나는 지팡이 부분에서 획득된 정보의 처리 및 장애인에게 여러 가지 정보 제공을 목적으로 하는 휴대장치이다. 이러한 장치를 통해 시각 장애인의 이동권 확보와 사회 활동권 등 복지 증진에 도움을 주고자 한다.

The Recognition of Korean Auxiliary Verb and its Description Based on Conceptual Graph (한국어 보조동사의 인식 및 개념그래프에 의한 표현)

  • Korean auxiliary verbs are often used in Korean sentences in spite of the small number of the auxiliary verbs, However. the incorrect processing of the verbs concept leads to the poor translation quality. To solve the problems of the auxiliary verb processing. the paper proposes a description of the auxiliary verbs based on Conceptual Graph (CG), For the description of the auxiliary verbs within CG. we first collect 40 Korean auxiliary verbs and example sentences from papers and a Korean dictionary, Next, we perform the analysis of the Korean auxiliary verbs through a classification: perfective, progressive, benefactive, attemptive, emphatic, desirable, retentive, and presumptive. Then we depict the eight meanings based on CG. In the experiment. the paper implements the program that translates sentences included in the auxiliary verbs into CG and explains the experimental results.

  • Korean auxiliary adjectives. causatives and passives are often used in Korean sentences in spite of the small numver of them. However, the incorrect processing of their concepts leads to the poor translation quality. To solve the problems. this paper proposes a description of them based on Conceptual Graph(CG). For the description of them within CG, this paper first collects 12 auxiliary adjectives, 425 causatives, and 260 passives. Next. the paper performs the analysis of them. Then the paper depicts the meanings of them based on CG, in the experiment, the paper implements the hepler program that translates sentences included in them into CG and explains the experimental results.

  • 세계적으로 로봇 산업이 차세대 신성장 동력 산업으로 급부상하여 인간과 상호작용 즉 HRI 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있는데, 최근 들어 로봇의 교육적 활용 연구가 시작되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 교사 보조 로봇의 수업에서의 활용 가능성을 보기위해 사전에 만화 시나리오를 통한 적합한 교과목 후보를 정하였고, 초등학생 6학년의 기대역할을 갖는 프로토타입 로봇을 설계 개발하여 후보 교과목 수업에 활용하는 실험을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 아동이 로봇에게 기대하는 역할이 실험자의 의도와 일치하는지와 교육적 효과 제고에 기여를 하는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 그 결과, 아동은 교사 보조 로봇을 자신보다 약간 높은 나이로 인식하고, 친근하지만 자신보다 우월하여 자신을 이끌어 줄 수 있는 역할을 기대한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 교사 보조 로봇 활용이 교사와 아동의 흥미 유발에 있어 매우 효과적임을 보여, 향후 교사 보조 로봇은 ICT 활용 교육의 또 다른 매체로서의 가능성을 확인하였다.

Policy Factors in the Development of IT Assistive Devices: A Comparative Study between Korea and America (정보통신 보조기기 발달의 제도적 요인: 한국과 미국의 비교)

  • Korea has deeper digital divide between disabled and non-disabled people than other industrialized countries have. This study attributes the deep divide to policy factors and attempts to discern differences in policies concerning IT assistive devices between Korea and America. This study finds that major differences in policy exist between the two countries, and the differences account for Korea's unsatisfactory state of digital divide. Firstly, Korra has different 'perception' of assistive devices. While IT assistive devices are perceived as rehabilitation tools as well as bridges over digital divide in America, they are still foreign to social welfare and rehabilitation of disabled people in Korea. Secondly, the two countries differ in 'enforcement of policy.' In Korea, unlike in America, compliance with regulations on assistive devises is not compulsory. Besides, laws and regulations do not clarify possible sources of financing and legal sanctions, thus their enforcement is hardly effective. Thirdly, Korea's strategy for assistive device 'market' is very different from America's. America has long-term strategies to enliven the market for IT assistive devices. But Korea provided a lump sum of device development fund, and then gave out the assistive devices free of charge. As a result, the IT assistive device market has not been formed, and the foundation for further device development is yet to be constructed.

  • A recent spread of personal mobility devices such as electric kickboards has brought about a rapid increase in accident cases. Such vehicles are susceptible to falling accidents due to their low dynamic stability and lack of outer protection chassis. This paper presents the development of an automatic emergency braking system and a safe starting system as driving assistance devices for electric kickboards. The braking system employed artificial intelligence to detect nearby threaening objects. The starting system was developed to disable powder to the motor until when the driver's boarding is confirmed. This study is meaningful in that it proposes the convergence technology of advanced driver assistance systems specialized for personal mobility devices.

Image Based Human Action Recognition System to Support the Blind (시각장애인 보조를 위한 영상기반 휴먼 행동 인식 시스템)

  • In this paper we develop a novel human action recognition system based on communication between an ear-mounted Bluetooth camera and an action recognition server to aid scene recognition for the blind. First, if the blind capture an image of a specific location using the ear-mounted camera, the captured image is transmitted to the recognition server using a smartphone that is synchronized with the camera. The recognition server sequentially performs human detection, object detection and action recognition by analyzing human poses. The recognized action information is retransmitted to the smartphone and the user can hear the action information through the text-to-speech (TTS). Experimental results using the proposed system showed a 60.7% action recognition performance on the test data captured in indoor and outdoor environments.
