Development of Bias Correction Technique of Radar Precipitation Using Hierarchical Bayesian Framework (계층적 Bayesian 구조를 이용한 레이더 강수량 편의보정기법 개발)

  • 최근 기후변동성으로 유발되는 불안정한 기상상태를 효과적으로 관측하고자 기상레이더가 도입되고 있다. 기상레이더는 경험식으로 산정된 Z-R 관계식을 통하여 레이더 강수량을 제시하게 된다. 이 과정에서 레이더 강수량은 필연적으로 실제 지상에 도달하는 강수량과는 정량적으로 오차가 발생하게 된다. 레이더 강수량에 포함된 오차는 다양한 원인으로 발생하게 되므로 레이더 강수량의 오차 성분을 규명하는 것은 레이더 강수량 활용을 위하여 필수적으로 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구는 지상강수량과 레이더 강수량의 편의를 보정하기 위한 확률통계학적 방법론을 개발하였다. 레이더 강수량의 편의오차를 보정하기 위하여 수문통계학에서 널리 활용되고 있는 계층적 Bayesian 구조를 기반으로 하였으며 자료통합(data pooling) 기법을 이용하여 편의보정 매개변수 추정과정의 불확실성 추정 효율성을 증대시켰다. 본 연구를 통하여 개발된 레이더 강수량 편의보정기법은 계층적 Bayesian 구조를 도입함으로써 편의보정 매개계수의 불확실성을 정량적으로 제시하였으며 유역 단위의 강수상관성을 현실적으로 복원하는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제안하는 편의보정기법은 편의보정 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 매개변수의 불확실성 및 레이더 강수량의 오차구조를 정량적으로 규명하여 고해상도의 강수정보를 생산함으로써 고도화된 수문해석을 가능케 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 2개의 S/H (Sample and Hold)회로를 내장한 ADC (Analog to Digital converter)는 전동기의 3상 전류를 동시점에서 샘플링(sampling)할 수 없다. 또한 전류 센서 및 아날로그 신호처리 회로의 이득은 오차가 있다. 이러한 이유로 3상 측정 전류의 불평형 상태가 야기될 수 있으며 이 불평형은 전동기 전류제어에 영향을 미친다. 이 논문에서는 2개의 S/H 회로를 이용한 3상 전류 측정의 동기화 및 이득 오차의 보정 방법을 제안하고 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 통하여 제안된 방법을 검증하였다.

A Study on Generation of Customized ICC Profile for Color Vision Deficiencies (색각이상자를 위한 맞춤형 ICC 프로파일 생성에 관한 연구)

  • While there are about 1 million color vision deficiencies in Korea, an assistive technology to digital contents of broadcasting and web for them remains scarce. In this study, we developed a generation method of the ICC profile to correct a graphic digital content adapted to various color perception characteristics of CVD by tuning the correction rules of the ICC profile by themselves. We tested the performance of the ICC profile to apply 10 Ishihara plates to the participants, 1 protanomaly, 1 protanomaly and deuteranomaly and 2 deuteranomaly. We used the color range information to build correction rules. Results of the test show that they passed Ishihara test by 97.5% success rate, compared to 20% success rate without it. The average time for them to spend to tune the customized ICC profile was about 13 minute without any diagnosis of specialist, any special instrument.

The Parallax Correction to Improve Cloud Location Error of Geostationary Meteorological Satellite Data (정지궤도 기상위성자료의 구름위치오류 개선을 위한 시차보정)

  • This research presents the correction method to correct the location error of cloud caused by parallax error, and how the method can reduce the position error. The procedure has two steps: first step is to retrieve the corrected satellite zenith angle from the original satellite zenith angle. Second step is to adjust the location of the cloud with azimuth angle and the corrected satellite zenith angle retrieved from the first step. The position error due to parallax error can be as large as 60km in case of 70 degree of satellite zenith angle and 15 km of cloud height. The validation results by MODIS(Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectrometer) show that the correction method in this study properly adjusts the original cloud position error and can increase the utilization of geostationary satellite data.

  • To generate a complete 3D model from depth images of multiple RGB-D cameras, it is necessary to find 3D transformations between RGB-D cameras. This paper proposes a convenient view calibration technique using a spherical object. Conventional view calibration methods use either planar checkerboards or 3D objects with coded-pattern. In these conventional methods, detection and matching of pattern features and codes takes a significant time. In this paper, we propose a convenient view calibration method using both 3D depth and 2D texture images of a spherical object simultaneously. First, while moving the spherical object freely in the modeling space, depth and texture images of the object are acquired from all RGB-D camera simultaneously. Then, the external parameters of each RGB-D camera is calibrated so that the coordinates of the sphere center coincide in the world coordinate system.

Estimating Annual Average Daily Traffic Using Hourly Traffic Pattern and Grouping in National Highway (일반국도 그룹핑과 시간 교통량 추이를 이용한 연평균 일교통량 추정)

  • This study shows how to estimate AADT(Annual Average Daily Traffic) on temporary count data using new grouping method. This study deals with clustering permanent traffic counts using monthly adjustment factor, daily adjustment factor and a percentage of hourly volume. This study uses a percentage of hourly volume comparing with other studies. Cluster analysis is used and 5 groups is suitable. First, make average of monthly adjustment factor, average of daily adjustment factor, a percentage of hourly volume for each group. Next estimate AADT using 24 hour volume(not holiday) and two adjustment factors. Goodness of fit test is used to find what groups are applicable. MAPE(Mean Absolute Percentage Error) is 8.7% in this method. It is under 1.5% comparing with other method(using adjustment factors in same section). This method is better than other studies because it can apply all temporary counts data.

  • Cross-wave regression imputation and carry-over imputation method are generally used in the analysis of panel data with missing values. Recently it is known that the BLS non-response adjust method has good statistical properties. In this paper we show that the BLS method can be considered as an imputation method with a similar formula of a ratio-estimator. In addition, we show that the carry-over imputation and BLS imputation are approximately the same under the assumption that data follow a non-stationary process with drift. Small simulation studies and real data analysis are performed. For the real data analysis, a monthly labor statistic (2007) is used.

Shadow Reconstruction Based on Intrinsic Image and Multi-Scale Gamma Correction for Aerial Image Analysis (항공 영상 분석을 위한 고유영상과 멀티 스케일 감마 보정 기반의 그림자 복원)

  • In this paper, the shadow detection and reconstruction method are proposed using intrinsic image, which does not change the essential characteristics under the influence of various illuminance, and multi-scale gamma correction. The shadow detection was estimated by the pixel change information between a grayscale and an intrinsic image of the color image, and the brightness of the image were adjusted by gamma correction in the shadow restoration process. Multi-scale gamma correction is performed for each channel of a color image due to the fact that the saturation can be changed by nonlinear adjustment to individual pixel values. Multi-scale gamma values are estimated based on the information of the crossed edge between shadows and non-shadowed regions in the color image, as a result, the shadows are reconstructed by correcting different region features with multi-scale gamma values. Experimental results show that the proposed method effectively reconstructs shadows in a single natural image.

Study on TRX Channel Amplitude and Phase Calibration Method for a Radar Wind Profiler Based on 256 Active Phased Array (256 능동위상배열 기반 연직바람 관측장비의 송수신 채널 크기 및 위상 보정 방법 연구)

  • In this paper, the phased-array transceiver (TRX) channel amplitude and phase calibration method for a radar wind profiler (RWP) based on the 256 active phased array is discussed. Without the additional module, the TX and RX calibration paths were secured using couplers and switches in the TRX front ends and the TRX switching duplexers, and the amplitude and phase of the 256 TRX were calibrated using a gain and phase detector. The beam widths and side lobes of five beams (vertical, east, west, south, and north) of the calibrated 256 active phased array antenna were confirmed by a near-field which agreed well with the simulation results. The proposed calibration method can be easily applied to a system based on an active phased array operated in an outdoor environment.

  • Pushbroom 방식의 CCD 영상에서 발생하는 pixel들 사이의 Non-uniformity 원인은 CCD pixel 면적의 차이, Dark current 영향, Output amplifier 차이, input radiance의 차이 등과 같은 CCD의 특성에 의해 발생하게 되며, CCD의 특성에 의해 발생되는 pixel사이의 상대복사량 차이인 Non-uniformity errors은 위성영상에서 줄무늬의 일차적 원인이 된다. 이러한 CCD의 상대복사보정을 위해서는 일차적으로 CCD의 특성을 잘 파악할 수 있는 지상에서 보정 값이 계산되어져야 하며 위성발사 후 보정 값이 다시 update 되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 다목적실용위성2호의 상대복사보정을 위한 준비로서, 지상에서 만들어진 MSC CCD PAN1 영상과 Pushbroom 방식의 다목적실용위성1호 영상을 시험자료로 이용하여 pixel 사이의 줄무늬를 제거하기 위한 상대복사보정을 수행하였다.
