Box-Level Post Processing for Accurate Pig Detection (정확한 돼지 탐지를 위한 박스 레벨 후처리)

  • 합성곱 신경망(Convolutional Neural Network) 기반 객체 탐지기의 발전으로 돈사에서 돼지 모니터링이 가능하지만, 실제 농가에서 적용하기 위해서는 탐지기의 정확도를 개선해야 하는 문제가 여전히 남아있다. 본 연구에서는 합성곱 신경망 기반 돼지 탐지기의 출력인 박스들의 신뢰도 값을 평가하고 잘못된 박스들의 신뢰도 값을 보정하는 박스 레벨 후처리 방법을 제안한다. 즉, 신뢰도 값이 가짜 돼지인지 진짜 돼지인지 애매한 경우, 박스내 전경 픽셀 정보와 인접 박스의 정보를 이용하여 신뢰도 값을 낮추거나 높이는 보정 작업을 수행한다. 그리고 실제 돈사에서 취득한 11,308장의 영상 데이터로 실험한 결과, 제안 방법은 합성곱 신경망 기반 돼지 탐지기의 에러율을 4.4%에서 1.2%로 개선하는 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

  • There is increasingly interested in the measurement of antenna's characteristics for one's manufacture according to one's various application. Due to this, the antenna measurement system need be made with more and more great precision. On measuring of the antenna's characteristic, the conventional system handled by human generates the error due to controlling the position of the system by user. Therefore there need be introduced the automatic measurement system of antenna's characteristic. In this paper, we propose antenna extraction algorithm for the Antenna automatic measurement system of antenna's characteristic. The proposed algorithm gets the antenna image from antenna measurement system, extracts an antenna object from the image, and extracts the parameters for antenna's slant and antenna's location. The extracted parameters is used to correct location and distortions of the antenna and automatic measurement. The proposed algorithm is applied to the patch antenna. The results show that antenna's object is efficiently extracted and the angle for correcting the error is calculated well.

A Study on Generation of Customized ICC Profile for Color Vision Deficiencies (색각이상자를 위한 맞춤형 ICC 프로파일 생성에 관한 연구)

  • While there are about 1 million color vision deficiencies in Korea, an assistive technology to digital contents of broadcasting and web for them remains scarce. In this study, we developed a generation method of the ICC profile to correct a graphic digital content adapted to various color perception characteristics of CVD by tuning the correction rules of the ICC profile by themselves. We tested the performance of the ICC profile to apply 10 Ishihara plates to the participants, 1 protanomaly, 1 protanomaly and deuteranomaly and 2 deuteranomaly. We used the color range information to build correction rules. Results of the test show that they passed Ishihara test by 97.5% success rate, compared to 20% success rate without it. The average time for them to spend to tune the customized ICC profile was about 13 minute without any diagnosis of specialist, any special instrument.

  • An intelligent autonomous robot generates a plan to achieve a goal. A plan is a sequence of robot actions that accomplish a given mission by being successfully executed. However, in the complex and dynamic real world, a robot may encounter unexpected situations and may not execute its planned actions any more. Therefore, an intelligent autonomous robot must prepare an efficient handling process to cope with these situations to successfully complete a given mission. Plan repair with milestone states is an efficient method to cope with the situation. It retains the advantages of other plan repair procedures. This paper proposes a regressive method of formulating milestone states and a method of assigning weighting values on conditions that compose a milestone state. The task to repair a plan may employ the weighting values as its job priority. The regressive method formulates less complex milestone states and leads to the conditions of a milestone state to take pertinent weighting values for an efficient handling procedure to repair a plan with milestone states.

  • To generate a complete 3D model from depth images of multiple RGB-D cameras, it is necessary to find 3D transformations between RGB-D cameras. This paper proposes a convenient view calibration technique using a spherical object. Conventional view calibration methods use either planar checkerboards or 3D objects with coded-pattern. In these conventional methods, detection and matching of pattern features and codes takes a significant time. In this paper, we propose a convenient view calibration method using both 3D depth and 2D texture images of a spherical object simultaneously. First, while moving the spherical object freely in the modeling space, depth and texture images of the object are acquired from all RGB-D camera simultaneously. Then, the external parameters of each RGB-D camera is calibrated so that the coordinates of the sphere center coincide in the world coordinate system.

  • This study is concerned with an assistive technology which reduces color blinds´s confusion when they access electronic documents including color objects in their computers. In this study, 1 restrict the assistive technology would apply to windows operating system, 256 color mode and implement to minimize color distortion which occurs in multi window environments because of color approximation process. As a basic palette, I use a 216 colors web safe palette which the Christine proposed as a standard for color blind, expand it to 256 colors to apply all computer displays using Microsoft Windows as its operating system and implement it as windows application. To test its effectiveness, I use a simulator for dichromats, as results of the test, the developed color vision deficiency correction S/W is effective to reduce the confusion. It is more effective to use the implemented S/W in both of design and client process for electronic documents.

  • Proper handling of nonresponse in sample survey improves the accuracy of the parameter estimation. Various studies have been conducted to properly handle MAR (missing at random) nonresponse or MCAR (missing completely at random) nonresponse. When nonresponse occurs, the PSA (propensity score adjusted) estimator is commonly used as a mean estimator. The PSA estimator is known to be unbiased when known sample weights and properly estimated response probabilities are used. However, for MNAR (missing not at random) nonresponse, which is affected by the value of the study variable, since it is very difficult to obtain accurate response probabilities, bias may occur in the PSA estimator. Chung and Shin (2017, 2022) proposed a post-stratification method to improve the accuracy of mean estimation when MNAR nonresponse occurs under a non-informative sample design. In this study, we propose a double post-stratification method to improve the accuracy of the naive PSA estimator for MNAR nonresponse under an informative sample design. In addition, we perform simulation studies to confirm the superiority of the proposed method.

  • Three dimensional modeling for seafloor topography is essential to monitoring displacements in underwater structures as well as all sorts of disasters along the shore. MBES is a system that is capable of high-density water depth measurement for seafloor topography and is in broad uses for gathering 3D data and detecting displacements. MBES data, however, contain random errors that take place in the equipment offset and surveying process and require systematic researches on the correction of wrong depth measurements. Thus this study set out to propose a post-processing technique to eliminate an array of random errors taking place after equipment offset correction and basic noise correction in the MBES system and analyze its applicability to seafloor topography modeling by applying it to the subject area.

An Efficient Slant Correction for Handwritten Hangul Strings using Structural Properties (한글필기체의 구조적 특징을 이용한 효율적 기울기 보정)

  • A slant correction method for handwritten Korean strings based on analysis of stroke distribution, which effectively reflects structural properties of Korean characters, is presented in this paper. The method aims to deal with typical problems which have been frequently observed in slant correction of handwritten Korean strings with conventional approaches developed for English/European languages. Extracted strokes from a line of text image are classified into two clusters by applying the K-means clustering. Gaussian modeling is applied to each of the clusters and the slant angle is estimated from the model which represents the vertical strokes. Experimental results support the effectiveness of the proposed method. For the performance comparison 1,300 handwritten address string images were used, and the results show that the proposed method has more superior performance than other conventional approaches.

고기동위성 지상처리 정밀자세결정 성능 향상

  • 국내기술로 개발된 고기동 위성이 해상도 70cm급 광학카메라를 탑재하고 태양동기궤도를 따라 지구 주위를 하루에 14바퀴이상 돌면서 임무를 수행한다. 높은 해상도의 영상을 얻기 위해 자세제어계에서는 고성능 별추적기와 자이로를 사용하는 정밀자세결정 로직과 반작용 휠을 사용하는 자세제어 로직을 운용한다. 자세제어계에서는, 발사환경 및 우주환경의 영향으로 인한 자이로의 오정렬, SF오차, 별추적기 상호간 오정렬에 대한 상대보정과 탑재컴퓨터에서 결정한 궤도 및 자세정보와 영상 기준점 정보를 이용하여 절대보정을 수행한다. 한편, 탑재 알고리즘에서는 강건한 자세결정로직을 운용하고 있고, 별추적기의 측정지연 보상, 처리 주기내의 평균 각속도 사용 등 실시간 운용으로 인한 제한으로 성능상의 제약이 있다. 따라서 정밀자세결정 지상 후처리 작업이 필요하며 이를 위해서 기 개발된 지상처리용 정밀자세결정 소프트웨어를 새로운 접속요구규격에 맞춰 업그레이드하였다. 지상처리 정밀자세결정을 위해서 탑재컴퓨터는 영상촬영 전후 일정기간 동안 별추적기 데이터, 자이로 데이터, 탑재컴퓨터에서 결정한 자세정보 등을 매 탑재컴퓨터 처리 주기로 저장하여 지상으로 전송한다. 전송된 자료를 이용하여 지상처리용 정밀자세결정 소프트웨어는 정밀궤도 정보와 결합하여 정밀자세결정을 수행한다. 고기동 위성의 경우 기동 후 정밀자세결정 수렴 속도 향상이 필요하며, 소프트웨어의 필터 파라미터를 조율하여 성능을 향상하였다.
