An Analysis of a First Grader's Number Sense using the Searching Complement of Ten Game (10의 보수 찾기 게임을 통한 초등학교 1학년 학생의 수 감각 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze a first grader's number sense in playing the searching complement of ten game. For this purpose, the researcher conducted the game with a first-year student and analyzed her number sense based on conversations in playing games. The results obtained in this study were as follows: First, the student had a very big interested in the game and it was easily converted into additional situations. Second, she fully understood the rules of the game and made the complement of the given number. However, she was not good at making complement of twelve. Third, she made new rules like using three or four cards. She easily made the number 10 with two cards, but she didn't easily understand how to make 10 with more than three cards.

Interpretation of Surface Contamination and Genesis on the Stupa of the State Preceptor Jigwang from the Beopcheonsaji Temple Site in Wonju, Korea (원주 법천사지 지광국사탑의 표면오염 및 성인 해석)

  • The Stupa of the State Preceptor Jigwang from the Beopcheonsaji temple site in Wonju (National Treasure No. 101) was built in the Goryeo Period (around the 11th century), with very excellent style and techniques. It was returned to the Korea after being taken to Osaka of Japan without notice in 1912, and was severely damaged during the Korean War. Subsequently, the Stupa was restored using restoration materials like mortar, and relocated to the National Palace Museum of Korea. Surface contaminants in the Stupa primarily existed around the restoration materials. Black discoloration, which indicates a high discoloration grade, signified a high possession rate in the north and inner regions of the Stupa, which may be related to the relative moisture maintenance time. Most surface contaminants were calcite and gypsum; the black discoloration area underwent secondary discoloration due to air pollution. Moreover, the stone properties exhibited a relatively low discoloration grade, exhibiting crystallized contaminants that partly covered the rock-forming minerals. Overall, the Stupa deteriorated due to discoloration and being covered by lime materials, which were dissolved as the mortar degraded. Hence, it required contaminants removal, surface cleaning and desalination during conservation treatment, in order to control the rate of physicochemical deterioration by contaminants.

Characteristics and Implications of Teacher Education System in Canada (캐나다 교원양성체제의 특징과 시사점)

  • This study examines the characteristics of teacher education system and professional standards of teachers in Canada through analysis of the current teacher education curriculum and salary grids of teachers in Canada. As a result, the following characteristics were found. First, contents and theories acquired during the course of teacher education are connected to the actual practice to increase the site-compatibility. Second, professional standards of teachers is rather holistic, than detailed and systematic. Based on the findings, the following implication can be drawn. To enhance the site compatibility of teachers in the Republic of Korea, it is requisite to build a persistent, and cooperative relationship among the faculty members of teacher education program, the members of the community, and supervisor teachers of practicum schools. Also, it is necessary to come up with a system that directly connects the professionalism of the teachers and the salary grids, as the salary of teachers are adjusted according to the completion of degree or courses, reflecting the professionalism.

Weathering Phenomena of the Rocks Constituting the Seoggulam (석굴암을 이루는 암석의 풍화현상)

  • The present aspect of the Seoggulam is the result of natural weathering of the rocks and influences by mankind. The rocks constituting the Seoggulam is granodiorite of medium and coarse grains which show brown to dark brown weathered surface resulted mainly from chemical weathering of feldspars. It also shows partly milky white or black colors due to influences by weathering products of cement used in the concrete dome and cracks. There are cracks and crack zones with very small cracks which may be formed by strong weathering and influences of shocks during operations of reconstitution and repair. However, for the better conservation, it must be considered to maintain the balances of temperature and moisture, especially relative moisture in places within the room, structural stability, and the influences of vibration made up by some reasons.

  • In South Korea, a cloud-based vessel traffic service (Cloud VTS) system integrating the fourth industrial revolution technologies such as cloud and AI is currently under development in contrast to the existing VTS systems. A pilot center for at Busan VTS is being established based on differentiated technology and operational programs. The roles of operators and maintenance personnel who operate the innovative Cloud VTS system must be redefined. Additionally, a demand exists for the development of new educational programs to ensure the smooth operation of the Cloud VTS. Therefore, this study introduces the development details of a Cloud VTS system and explores educational strategies aimed at operators and maintenance personnel to ensure its safe operation.

A Development and Application of Play Learning Program for the Complement Number Concept (보수 개념 신장을 위한 놀이 학습 프로그램의 개발 및 적용)

  • This study has two goals. The First is to develop and apply a step-by-step program and the degree to which students' mathematical skills. The second is to analyze mathematical attitude change around the first grade students was done. The program for learning complement number is composed of series of 5 steps and 11 classes. Play for learning complement number, taking into account the difficulty of the learning steps 1-5 are organized. First step is composed of the classes which fragmented pieces of shapes to complete the entire geometry with fun activities for the entire part of the concept of learning and it maintenance concepts and can naturally learn by associating step. In second step, tools to take advantage of the real world and collecting the conservative concept. 3rd steps is to repair the mathematical concept of the parish in the learning stage of expansion. 4th step is halrigalri, number cards, making ten games etc. 5th step is to verify the concept of complement number and number operation ability. The concept of complement number through fun activities can improve students' mathematical skills, and mathematical attitude change. Early in the program, students use the finger to throw acid in the process. Simple addition and subtraction calculations may take a long time and error, but more and more we progress through the program using the fingers is eliminated and a more complex form calculations was not difficult to act out.

An Experimental Study on the Strengthening Effect of RC Beam subjected to Repeated Loading during CFS Strengthening Process (탄소섬유 보강 중에 반복하중을 받은 RC보의 보강효과에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • When RC structures are repaired or strengthened using FRP, it is required to cure for some Period under certain air temperature and then it is hopeful to avoid detrimental action caused by external vibration sources during that period. Therefore, an effect of repeated loading during Carbon Fiber Sheet(CFS) strengthening Process on the strengthening efficiency is studied through an experiment for a number of RC beams. Experimental results showed that the curing time of 24 hours without any repeated loading after CFS attachment were recommended for 1 ply strengthening, and 12 hours for 2 plies strengthening.

  • Recently, the concerning about cultural heritages has been increased. As a result, the protection, repairing and restoration of cultural assets have been actively in progress. The biggest project of cultural asset reconstructions is the restoration of Kyungbok Palace and it has been in proceed step by step since in 1989. The actual sizes of these traditional buildings have been measured and recorded for future maintenance. In this paper, the 3D computer graphic technique is used to help understanding the inner structures of the traditional buildings as well as their construction processes. In other word, the construction simulation of Keunjeongjun which is the center building of Kyungbok Palace have been produced using 3D computer graphic techniques. The purpose of this project is aiding people in understanding the process of traditional palace architecture in Korea.
