The Preliminary Study for Genetic Environment of the Gem fields in the Pailling Area, Cambodia (캄보디아 빠일링지역의 보석광상의 성인에 대한 예비연구)

  • This study, one of the projects for investigation of the precious metal deposits of the Circum-Pacific Ocean coon-tries, was performed in a gem field of Pailling, Cambodia, in which there are numbers of undeveloped mineral resources. The gem fields in the Pailling area are typically distributed in the laterite, lying on of weathered basalts. The gem grade of corundum is low in the surface soil horizon(less than 1 m in depth), but is higher in the subsurface. Occurrence and genetic environment of the precious stone are not concerned in the soils. A Precious stone that is already made from at the least upper part of volcanic rocks is produced in large quantities to undergoing to weathering of the rocks. A precious stone is made from upper part of the formation under the high temperature when volcano is vomiting or after vomiting. and/or made from between the formation under the high temperature when other volcano is vomiting. Volcanic rocks including precious stone are a little different from other volcanic rocks when volcano is vomiting, but chemical composition of rocks is not far different from other volcanic rocks.

  • The Mogok metamorphic belt is a highland area mainly consisting of Archean crystalline rocks, where many ruby mines were distributed in the past, and jewelry has been identified in its alluvium as placer deposit. Minerals that are usually identified with ruby include spinel, garnet, and rubellite. The conglomerates that form the alluvium in which jewelry is found mainly consist of gneiss and clastic pegmatites. In Singu, Mogok, and Momeik areas, a number of pegmatites containing jewelry are distributed in the intrusions of Mogok metamorphic rocks, diorites, and granites. In Singu pegmatites, rubellite, goshenite, and blue and violet apatite occur as gems. In Momeik pegmatites, mushroom-type rubellite, petalite, hambergite, pollucite, and aquamarine can be found. In Mogok pegmatites, topaz, aquamarine, goshenite, and herderite occur are present.

  • This paper addresses the correlation between the change of file size and the scanning path build time by the slicing height of STL file. Though the study about STL file has been achieved quite actively scanning path build time using STL file is not investigated so much to be satisfied. The file size depends on the number of polygon created by the slicing height specified. And this number of polygons increases in a regular rate. The correlation between the number of polygons and the scanning path build time is examined and verified.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare motives and tendency of purchasing jewelry between the forties and more than the fifties in middle-aged wives. The data was collected from 460 middle-aged wives living in Busan, from April 1 to May 31 in 2000. The results were as follows:Attitudes toward purchasing showed past-positive, thrifty attitude. Pursuit of beauty had the highest score among the various buying motives. Deficiency of stock and stock dissatisfaction ranked the second. Wives who are more than the fifties showed higher score in motives and preference of buying jewelry than wives in the forties.

  • Western wedding ceremony is generalized and it has been focused on bride's wedding dress and jewelry design as coming in western culture in Korea. Especially, metal design has developed a lot as enlarging the scale of jewelry market but study of gem cutting design is insufficient really. To meet demands of consumers of the 21th century we try fancy not standardizing style gems by using new faceting technique to maximize brilliance as wedding jewelry. In this thesis, we use popular and moderate priced synthetic cubic zirconia(CZ) which is able to alternate expensive diamond and natural gems to make easy approach of consumer as main gem material of wedding jewelry. And we develop various gem cutting design that is used synthetic cubic zirconia(CZ). We will contribute to development of new wedding jewelry design proposing various gems cutting style fitted for gem setting technique of wedding jewelry.

  • Recently, most jewelry design employ multiple prongs that grasp the front surface of the jewel to the metal frame To keep up with recent trends in fashion. jewelry manufacturers need to produce single-prong neckalces and earings constructed with non-precious metals. In responce to this demand, Ameth Development Division and The University of Seoul researched jointly and developed a technique for setting the jewel safely using a single prong with less weight. The setting process consists of making a small trench through the jewel at the mounting point and using a low melting point tin solder, to fill the trench and bonding with the prong. The application or this technology in the setting of a natural amethyst to a single 18K gold prong resulted in a 40% reduction in cost and weight and improvement of feeling for wearing.

  • It is a quite quality concerning to control the temperature of single crystalline growth as it does when we get most of heat treating products. It is also important factor to control the temperature when we make the $Al_2O_3$(single crystalline) used to artificial jewels, glass of watches, and heat resistant transparent glasses. Thus, it is a major interest to get the proper temperature in accordance with the time process while we are making mixture of oxygen and hydrogen to have the right temperature. In this paper, we will study of electrical valve positioning system with DC-Motor for the gas mixture to improve the quality of products.

  • The study is used to verify the applicability of the sensor to monitor penetration of chloride into the concrete, like real coastal environment. After manufacturing the specimen adapt corrosion sensor for chloride penetration monitoring, chloride spray experiment was conducted. And then, It was checked the possibility of monitoring of the penetrated chloride by measuring the resistance of the corrosion sensor that was embedded in each depth of the concrete. Experimental results, it is confirmed that the corrosion resistance of the sensor was increased depending on the concentration of chloride. Therefore, it is estimated that the sensor is available for monitoring of chloride penetration.
