건국대학교에서는 의과대학부속병원 현상설계경기를 실시, 원도시건축(윤승중+변용+정현화)안을 당선작으로 선정, 지난 10월 10일 발표했다. 일반진료기능은 물론 대학병원으로서 교육기능, 수련병원으로서 의료인력 수련기능 등 21세기형 첨단병원으로서 기능을 갖추고자 실시된 이번 설계경기는 지명설계경기로 치뤄져 서울건축, 원도시건축, 우일건축, 정일엔지니어링, 부림건축, TSK수림건축, 희림건축 등 7개 사무소에서 참여했다. 우수작으로는 정일엔지니어링(송기덕) 건축안이 선정됐다.

This study aims to find out architectural possibilities for preventing hospital infection by reviewing the existing studies. In addition, it analyses the actual existing examples in order to evaluate the effect of infection on the hospital building planning. Finally, it tries to suggest the necessity of continuing studies in this field and show the future direction.

This thesis is a case study of hospital design corresponding to substance of hospital components. The substance of each divisions and functional elements of hospital architecture is analyzed and the appropriate forms corresponding to each substance are tried in design. The researcher is convinced, that healthcare facilities for patients must be differently designed from post-modernism or deconstructivism. He suggests new design method in designing of jeju university hospital competition.

Since 1970s' many hospitals have been built due to the economic growth and change of social policy in Korea. But, we had no sufficient data and design guidelines of planning and designing to get good design solutions. From the first paper on the healthcare architecture issued in 1974, many researches have been performed. Researches could be one of the efforts to solve the problems and satisfy the needs of those periods. Researches could reflect the characteristics of healthcare architecture of those periods. So in this paper 267 papers issued between 1974-2009 were analyzed to get the characteristics patterns of research periodically. This paper aims to provide a basic data for studying of history of healthcare architecture in Korea.

This study is intended to summarize the contents and process of an architectural basic planning for the design competition of K University Hospital. Especially a design of low-rise and compact type hospital in sloped suburb is suggested. The major contents consists of proposed premise of planning, goal of planning, site analysis, site plan, and architectural basic plan To realize the concept of low-rise and compact type hospital which reconciles to the natural environment of the site, 4 nursing units per typical floor and hospital street system are introduced. And to design a "hospital unlike hospital", streamline form of hospital building is proposed.

This study presents how Seoul National University Hospital, one of the representative hospitals in Korea, has been developed and changed from the opening to the present. It tried to find a trend in Korea hospital development through the investigation of Seoul National University Hospital, with the purpose of presenting a basic source of reference to hospital architecture planning.
