  • Microwatt power level at relatively high voltage(order of volt) was produced by $Bi_{0.5}Sb_{1.5}Te_{3}/Bi_{2}Te_{2.4}Se_{0.6}$ thin film thermoelectric generators, and maximum output power varied with temperature difference in the square-law relation. Output voltage and current were possible to control by changing the way of electrical connection as well as the number of stacking plate-modules. Variation of open circuit voltage and short circuit current with temperature difference showed a linear relationship. There were, however, some differences in variations; open circuit voltage were dependent on the number of plate-module when connected in series, but it was not for parallel connection. On the other hand, short circuit current showed the opposite behavior to the case of open circuit current.

Optimal Design of Laminated Stiffened Composite Structures using a parallel micro Genetic Algorithm (병렬 마이크로 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 복합재 적층 구조물의 최적설계)

  • In this paper, a parallel micro genetic algorithm was utilized in the optimal design of composite structures instead of a conventional genetic algorithm(SGA). Micro genetic algorithm searches the optimal design variables with only 5 individuals. The diversities from the nominal convergence and the re-initialization processes make micro genetic algorithm to find out the optimums with such a small population size. Two different composite structure optimization problems were proposed to confirm the efficiency of micro genetic algorithm compared with SGA. The results showed that micro genetic algorithm can get the solutions of the same level of SGA while reducing the calculation costs up to 70% of SGA. The composite laminated structure optimization under the load uncertainty was conducted using micro genetic algorithm. The result revealed that the design variables regarding the load uncertainty are less sensitive to load variation than that of fixed applied load. From the above-mentioned results, we confirmed micro genetic algorithm as a optimization method of composite structures is efficient.

  • 본 논문에서는, LSI 적층 기술을 이용한 실시간 처리 마이크로 비젼의 개발을 소개하고 있다. 새롭게 개발된 LSI 적층기술을 이용하여, 영상신호의 증폭, 변환, 연산처리등의 기본기능을 가지는 다수의 LSI 웨이퍼를 적층한다. 각 층간의 고밀도 수직배선을 통하여 대량의 영상정보를 동시에 전달하므로써, 대규모 동시 병렬처리를 가능하게 하며, 다수의 층에 걸쳐 파이프 라인 처리가 이루어진다. VLSI 설계시스템을 이용하여, 윤곽 검출기능을 가지는 테스트 칩을 설계(2 .mu.m CMOS design rule)하고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 양호한 동작(처리시간 10 .mu.s)을 확인하고 있다. 시험제작을 위해서는, 새롭게 개발된 LSI 적층기술이 이용된다. 영상처리의 기본회로가 실려있는 웨이퍼의 기반을 30 .mu.m 의 두께까지 연마하고, 개발된 웨이퍼 aligner를 이용하여 수직배선이 형성된 상하 두 개의 웨이퍼를 미세조정하면서 접착한다. 이상의 제작과정을 반복하여 두께 1mm이하의 인공망막과 같은 마이크로 비젼을 제작한다.

CNN Accelerator Architecture using 3D-stacked RRAM Array (3차원 적층 구조 저항변화 메모리 어레이를 활용한 CNN 가속기 아키텍처)

  • This paper presents a study on the integration of 3D-stacked dual-tip RRAM with a CNN accelerator architecture, leveraging its low drive current characteristics and scalability in a 3D stacked configuration. The dual-tip structure is utilized in a parallel connection format in a synaptic array to implement multi-level capabilities. It is configured within a Network-on-chip style accelerator along with various hardware blocks such as DAC, ADC, buffers, registers, and shift & add circuits, and simulations were performed for the CNN accelerator. The quantization of synaptic weights and activation functions was assumed to be 16-bit. Simulation results of CNN operations through a parallel pipeline for this accelerator architecture achieved an operational efficiency of approximately 370 GOPs/W, with accuracy degradation due to quantization kept within 3%.

A Study on the Failure Characteristic of Laminated Composites Joint Containing Two Holes in Series or Parallel (복합적층판의 직병렬 유공 접합부의 파손연구)

  • A series of test was performed by measuring the failure strength and the failure mode of fiber reinforced composite laminates joint containing two holes in Series or Parallel. $[0^{\circ}/45^{\circ}/90^{\circ}/-45^{\circ}]_s$ laminate with W/d(Side distance ratio) 4.0 and E/d(Edge distance ratio) 3.0 has the full bearing strength and are preferable in case of the good efficiency in two series hole. Comparisons were made between testing results and predicting values of the FEM model. Good agreements were fecund between them except the case of $E/d=2{\sim}3$. In the case of $G_h{\geq}3.0d$ and $G_v{\geq}3.0d$ since the interaction coefficients between two parallel holes and between two series holes were small, holes can be treated as independent. The Acoustic Emission(AE) and SEM method were utilized to find out the initial defects, damage and the fracture mechanism.

Development of In-Plane Strength Analysis Software for Composite Laminated Structure with Parallel Processing Technique (병렬처리 기법을 이용한 복합재 적층 구조물의 면내 파손 해석 소프트웨어 개발)

  • In this paper, we develop an automated software for in-plane structural analysis of composite laminated structures. The developed software supports various failure criteria and reports the analysis results considering user's convenience. It also provides batch job analysis function based on parallel processing technique. To verify the performance of the software, we compared margin of safety(MS) calculated in the software to those obtained from in-house method and the specimen experiment. As a result of comparisons, there was an error of less than 0.01 in the in-house method and it is within about ${\pm}10%$ with the specimen experiment. In addition, we confirmed the improvement of execution speed of batch job analysis based on parallel processing technique.

  • The wide application of disc springs to the designing of mechanical products with space limit is mainly attributable to their property of sustaining large axial load with small displacement. Due to the impediments in expecting the final results caused by the significant differences existing between a single unit and a stacked form, the force-displacement characteristics of a single disc spring and stacked disc springs are mainly examined in this study. In particular, the hysteresis of the series stack and the parallel stack will be investigated through the FE analysis and the analytical results will finally be compared with the acquired experimental data. In the final result, the analytical results were in accordance with the experimental data.

  • 병렬선재를 사용하여 권선을 제작할 경우 구성하는 초전도 선재의 임피던스의 차이에 의하여 통전전류 불균형이 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 BSCCO 선재를 사용하여 제작된 병렬선재에서 전류불균형 분포에 따른 교류손실을 측정하였다. 4 가닥 병렬선재의 경우 전류 불균형이 발생한 선재에서의 교류손실이 전류 불균형이 일어나지 않을 때보다 2배 이상 증가함을 확인하였다.
