Acoustic Emission (AE) Technology-based Leak Detection System Using Macro-fiber Composite (MFC) Sensor (Macro fiber composite (MFC) 센서를 이용한 음향방출 기술 기반 배관 누수 감지 시스템)

  • In this study, aimed at improving the existing acoustic emission sensor for real time monitoring, a macro-fiber composite (MFC) transducer was employed as the acoustic emission sensor in the gas leak detection system. Prior to implementation, structural analysis was conducted to optimize the MFC's design. Consequently, the flexibility of the MFC facilitated excellent adherence to curved pipes, enabling the reception of acoustic emission (AE) signals without complications. Analysis of AE signals revealed substantial variations in parameter values for both high-pressure and low-pressure leaks. Notably, in the parameters of the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) graph, the change amounted to 120% to 626% for high-pressure leaks compared to the case without leaks, and approximately 9% to 22% for low-pressure leaks. Furthermore, depending on the distance from the leak site, the magnitude of change in parameters tended to decrease as the distance increased. As the results, in the future, not only will it be possible to detect a leak by detecting the amount of parameter change in the future, but it will also be possible to identify the location of the leak from the amount of change.

A Study on the Monitoring of Tool Fracture using Motor Current in Turning (선반가공에서 모터 전류를 이용한 공구 파손 감지에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, monitoring method of tool fracture using motor current was proposed for turning process. In order to take more reliable current signal, cutting force signal was compared as reference signal because cutting force signal is reliable, and analysis of signal correlation between cutting force and motor current was performed. The static components of the cutting force and motor current signals were correlated very well for different cutting conditions, and it was proven to use the motor current as an proper sensor for monitoring of tool fracture. To understand the characteristics of motor current, various kinds of cutting experiment were performed including tool fracture experiments. As a result, a new method to detect tool fracture using motor current in turing was proposed, and a large number of fracture experiments were carried out to evaluate the reliability of the proposed method. Finally, it can be possible to detect the tool fracture reliably.

A Real Time Flame and Smoke Detection Algorithm Based on Conditional Test in YCbCr Color Model and Adaptive Differential Image (YCbCr 컬러 모델에서의 조건 검사와 적응적 차영상을 이용한 화염 및 연기 검출 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a new real-time algorithm detecting the flame and smoke in digital CCTV images. Because the forest fire causes the enormous human life and damage of property, the early management according to the early sensing is very important. The proposed algorithm for monitoring forest fire is classified into the flame sensing and detection of smoke. The flame sensing algorithm detects a flame through the conditional test at YCbCr color model from the single frame. For the detection of smoke, firstly the background range is set by using differences between current picture and the average picture among the adjacent frames in the weighted value, and the pixels which get out of this range and have a gray-scale are detected in the smoke area. Because the proposed flame sensing algorithm is stronger than the existing algorithms in the change of the illuminance according to the quantity of sunshine, and the smoke detection algorithm senses the pixel of a gray-scale with the smoke considering the amount of change for unit time, the effective early forest fire detection is possible. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm provides better performance than existing algorithms.

  • The adhesive-tape of a liquid leak film sensor including the alarm system is developed. The sensing film is composed of three layers such as base film layer, conductive line layer, and protection film layer. The thickness of film is 300~500 um, the width is 3.55 cm, and the unit length is 200 m. On the conductive line layer, three conducting lines and one resistive line are formulated by the electronic printing method with a conducting ink of silver-nano size. When a liquid leaks for the electricity to be conducted between the conductive line and the resistive line, the position of leakage is monitored by measuring the voltage varied according to the change of resistance between two lines. The error range of sensing position of 200 m film sensor is ${\pm}1m$.

  • Due to the rapid development of construction technology with effective land utilization in this nation, many tunnels were and are being built across the country. However, the smoke and the heat generated from tunnel fire are the most important critical factors which may results in both massive personal injury and property damage, especially, due to the closed surrounding of the tunnel. Considering this particular nature of the tunnels, this study aims to install a fire detection system using an optic fiber cable to measure the temperature changes, compare, and analyze the resulted values with the times of temperature changes of the sensor by performing fire simulations under the same condition as a real fire test. From the results, it has been found that the temperature sensor detects a fire occurrence and generates an alarm within one minute after ignition for both a real fire test and a fire simulation alike, and also that the characteristics of temperature changes of the sensor has close relations with the speeds of the currents inside the tunnel. In addition, considering the tunnel fires can affect the evacuation efficiency and the fire extinguishing activities of the fire brigade inside the tunnel, the temperature sensor must be able to search and find the locations and directions of the fires correctly.

Development of Incident Detection Method for Interrupted Traffic Flow by Using Latin Square Analysis (라틴방격분석법을 이용한 단속류도로에서의 유고감지기법 개발)

  • In this study, a new method which can detect incidents in interrupted traffic flow was suggested. The applied method of detecting the incident is the Latin Square Analysis Method by using traffic traits. In the Latin Square Analysis, unlike other previously tried methods, the traffic situation was analyzed, this time considering the changes in traffic traits for each lane and for each time period. The data used in this study were the data observed in the actual field with fine weather. The traffic volumes, the vehicle speed and the occupancy rate were collected on the interrupted flow road. The data were collected in normal and incident situations. The incidents occurred on the second lane, the time of persistent incidents was set to 10 minutes. The Latin Square Analyses were performed using the collected data with the traffic volume, with the vehicle speed or with the occupancy rate. As a result in this study, in case of detecting the traffic situations with Latin Square Analysis, it will be more successful to apply traffic volume to detect the traffic situations than to apply other factors.

접착 테이프형 액체 누설 감지 박막 센서

  • 액체 누설을 감지하는 센서를 개발하였다. 이 센서는 경보 장치를 포함하며 접착 테이프형태의 박막 센서이다. 센서는 총 4개의 층으로 구성되어 있다. 각 층의 명칭은 접착제층, 베이스 필름층, 기판 필름층, 보호 필름층이다. 감지선의 사용량을 최소화하여 기판 필름층 위에는 총 4개의 선이 있다. 전도선 3개와 저항선 1개이다. 4개의 선들은 기판 필름층에 전도성 은나노 잉크를 그라비어인쇄기를 이용하여 센싱 회로를 인쇄하였으며 이 기술의 이 센서의 가장 큰 특징이다. 누수 발생 시에 저항선과 전도선에 액체가 접촉되어 회로 상에 교차하는 내부저항의 전압 변화를 모니터링하여 누수를 감지하는 방식의 센서이다. 감지선에 전원을 양방향으로 번갈아 인가함으로써 수분의 저항 값 증가 및 양극화를 방지하였다. 그로 인해 기존의 센서에 비해 좀 더 안정적이고 정확한 감지를 할 수 있다. 설치 후 센서가 마모되거나 손상될 시 간단하게 재설치 할 수 있다는 장점도 있다. 액체 누설 후에도 별도의 건조시간이 필요하지 않다. 표면에 남아있는 액체를 제거하여 즉시 재사용하는 것이 가능하다. 액체누설 감지 시스템은 액체누설 감지 필름 센서를 포함하며, 표시부와 경고음 발생부 등 전체를 제어한다. 표시부의 누설 위치 표시 단위는 미터(m)이며 최소 0.1 m 단위까지 표시한다. 이 액체누설 감지 시스템을 이용하여 누설 위치 감지 실험 및 액체별 누설 위치 감지 실험을 진행하였다.

압전 지능구조물의 원리와 소음제어에의 응용

  • 이 글은 소음 진동분야에 종사하는 분들에게 압전형 지능구조물을 소개하면서 소음 분야의 응용예 및 활용 가능성 그리고 앞으로의 과제들을 알리고자 한다. 지능 구조물이란 감지기(sensor)와 가진기(actuator) 그리고 제어기(control logic)가 구조물에 합해져서 능동적인 기능을 갖고 있는 것으로서 주위 환경의 변화를 감지하여 이에 대처하는 거동을 하는 구조물이다. 예를 들어, 기계적인 지능구조물은 그 위치 나 속도 또는 구조물의 강성도나 감쇠 성질을 변화시키는 구조물이다. 따라서 이러한 적응력을 갖춘 구조물은 많은 공학 분야에 큰 영향을 주고 있으며 소음제어 분야에 있어서도 큰 기대가 된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차 무선충전기에 적용 가능한 커패시티브 기반 생명체 감지 센서를 제안한다. 유한 요소 해석 시뮬레이션을 이용해 빗 구조와 나선 구조 두 가지 형태의 생명체 감지 센서에 대한 시뮬레이션을 수행하였고 나선 구조를 지닌 생명체 감지 센서가 단위면적당 약 20 % 더 큰 커패시턴스를 가지는 특성을 확인하였다. 나선 구조 생명체 감지 센서와 생명체를 모사한 팬텀을 이용해 높이에 따른 커패시턴스 변화를 측정한 결과 팬텀의 높이 1.2 cm에서 측정된 커패시턴스는 4.5 %가 증가한 것을 확인하였다.

  • 촉매 구조에 따른 반도체식 가스센서의 가스 감지 특성이 고찰되었다. 촉매로는 Pd를 사용하였고, 0.5 ~ 10wt% 의 다양한 농도로 약 15nm 크기의 $SnO_2$ 분말에 도핑, 가스센서를 제작하였다. 또한 열처리 온도를 $500{\sim}600^{\circ}C$로 다르게 하여 각 촉매 구조에 따른 특성의 변화를 관찰하였다. 그 결과 가스 감지 특성은 열처리 온도가 높을수록 감지 특성이 향상되었고, Pd 농도가 5wt% 에서 감도가 0.65로 좋은 감지 특성을 나타내었다. 5wt% Pd가 도핑된 가스센서는 2시간 동안 $400^{\circ}C$에서 aging 후에도 감도 값이 안정된 우수한 특성을 나타내었다.
