This story is written by Shin Kwang-han who is a famous scholar and writer in Josun Dynasty. The most notable feature of this story is the love between a man and a dead woman. The protagonist has failed the test to be a national official for several years, because of the corruption and unfairness of the leaders of his society. He is very upset, but then changes his mind in order to become an officer. One day he meets a dead woman. He saves her life from death, and falls in love with her. Finally he marries her and attains a high position. Till now, all the aspects of this story have been extensively researched from a number of different perspectives. However the narrative structure of this story has not been discussed much. This story belongs to Jungi-novel, a kind of old story style which includes fantasy. The studies on this story have mostly been carried out to find the different features in comparison with other works of the same style. Further, we could not understand its own specific meaning structure. This study aims to find the narrative structure of this story. It was recognized by researchers that Shin's stories talk about his life and his perspective of the world. Further, I will try to show how he expresses his thoughts, emotion and life through this story. First, to obtain a satisfactory result through this study, I will find a way to resolve several problems that have become the center of the controversy. Afterward, the conflict and resolution the hero's relation to the world will be identified in every paragraph. Through these efforts, we will have a new point of the view about the narrative structure of this story and the intent expressed by the writer through its structure.

This study has developed a water balance model for the catchment of Byungchun river using a BROOK90 4.4e physical deterministic water balance model with the long-term meterological data and stream run off data obtained from the basin of Byungchun river in Korea. It is intended that the validation model with calibrated model fitting parameter can build a long-term water balance plan for a period when meterological data are available but stream runoff data are not. Results of this study have satisfied the first expectation as an experiment for water balance modeling since measured stream runoff data have turned out to be very similar to simulated stream runoff data. Through the confirmation of model fitting parameters and validated simulation, water balance for the period of 1998 to 2006 has been restored. Unless the conditions of geomophology, vegetation, soil and land use change, meterological data alone can produce various hydrometeorological data related to stream runoff amount, soil water amount, and evapotranspiration. This study opens up a new horizon in restoring water balance in the past as well planning water balance in the present. The obtained results from this study are expected to be used in predicting future water balance in the wake of the changes in climate and vegetation in Korea.
This research attempts to explain the influence of educational level inequalities on self-rated health and depression of the elderly. Also, we are focusing whether there is a mediating effect of social support between educational level inequalities and self-rated health depression of the elderly. The data was collected from July, 30 to August, 15, 2009. 631 persons who live in Gangnam-Gu area over 60 years of age were recruited. Frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and multiple regression were employed using SPSS 12.0. The result of this study shows that educational level inequalities have a influence on the self-rated health and depression. It is also verified that social participation variable has a partial mediating effect between educational level inequalities and mental health(self-rated health and depression). This study carried out a positive linear relationship between educational level and health: the higher education, the better the health. And also, the results present the importance of developing adequate intervention programs for the elderly having low educational level to improve social participation and to enhance mental health(self-rated health and depression).
This study examines the effects of adolescents' volunteer activities on their development of sense of community. When examining the effects of volunteer activities, both quantity and quality sides of volunteer activities were considered in the research model and besides the direct effects of volunteer activities on their sense of community, the mediating role of self-esteem and peer attachment were also examined. The data set of conducted by National Youth Policy Institute was reanalyzed for this study. The subjects of this study were 1,426 first-grade middle school students who had experiences of volunteer activities. The results of the study are as follows. First, the total hours of volunteer activities and the satisfaction with volunteer activities were positively related to their sense of community respectively. In an integrative model which combines both quantity and quality aspects of volunteer activities, however, only the satisfaction with volunteer activities was found to be significant. This means that the satisfaction with and reflective learning after volunteer activities are more important sides of adolescents' volunteer activities than whether and how many times they had experiences in volunteer activities. Second, the satisfaction with volunteer activities was found to enhance adolescents' self-esteem and peer attachment and the changes in their personal traits again led to a higher sense of community. Therefore, both the direct effects of volunteer activities and indirect effects through self-esteem and peer attachment were proved. Based on the results of the study, the need and ways to improve the management system of adolescents' volunteer activities were suggested.

In this study, we analyzed sedimentation and erosion environment around Halmiseom on Anmyeon Island using wind direction and wind speed data, gain size analysis data and datum-point measured values. To observe changes in sedimentation and erosion environment around Halmiseon, we installed datum points at 12 locations around Halmiseom and carried out at total of 32 field measurements from May 16th, 2010 to May 8th, 2012. The field measurement results showed that H-3, H-4, H-5 and H-9 points are dominated by sedimentation environment, and H-7, H-8, H-10, H-11 and H-12 points are dominated by erosion environment. Meanwhile, sedimentation and erosion appeared alternately at H-2 and H-6 points. These results indicate that a bank installed in the southwest side of Halmiseom prevented sand of the beach from moving to the northeast side, leaving the sand of the beach being deposited at the sites, and the northeast side, where sand was not provided from beach ridge of Halmiseon was dominated by sedimentation. That is, the southwest side of Halmiseom was dominated by sedimentation, but the northeast side was dominated by erosion in general. However, the opposite trends were observed at H-9 point of the northeast side and H-12 point of the southwest side. According to analysis, since H-9 point is located at the end of sand spit connected to Halmiseom, the supply of sediments by a tidal current is possible. On the other hand, it was difficult to analyze the cause of erosion in case of H-12 point located at the sand dune due to the short measurement period.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate Toegye's simhak in relation to spiritualism. In general, we call Chu Hsi's learning "lihak" (the learning of principle) while Wang Yangming's learning is described as "simhak" (the learning of mind). However, we sometimes call Toegye's learning "simhak" in spite of his respect for Chu Hsi's philosophy of li. Toegye's simhak is different from Wang Yangming's. Nonetheless, Toegye too, highlighted the existential meaning of truth. Toegye regarded simgyung (the book of mind) as one of the most important classics for self-cultivation. As is well known, Toegye's main concern was concentration on mind and heart cultivation. Toegye understood li as a spiritual being, which can actualize itself. The goal of simhak is to become a sage. For a sage, there is no contradiction between moral norm and human desire. To become a sage, Toegye developed the theory and practice of mind cultivation. Toegye's simhak has some common characteristics with Louis Lavelle's philosophy of spiritualism. Both Toegye and Louis Lavelle lay great emphasis on self reflection and spiritual life. In particular, Toegye developed the concrete method of mind cultivation. In the 21st century, human beings are confronted with spiritual crisis in many aspects. Toegye's simhak can be advanced as useful wisdom to keep one's mind in a peaceful and harmonious state.
The purpose of this study is to analyze how the debates on learning and learning outcomes in global education agendas have changed and to understand the discourses and issues about learning under the agendas, and finally based on the understanding, to know what is the implication we should take in international education development cooperation in Korea. To do this, this study critically analyzed 1) what is the main features and directions, and 2) the method and limitation in handling learning concept on three major global education forums which are Jomtien global education forum in 1990, Dakar in 2000, and Incheon in 2015. Major finding shows that there are little learning concept discussed in Jomtien and Dakar forums and in SDGs education agenda, learning is vaguely defined and discussed and there are problems of too much focus on learning outcomes itself and absence of study on proper assessment system. Major lessons and implications for international education development cooperation could be stated that postcolonial perspectives and learner centered approaches is required in developing countries's education ecology. And continuous support for sustainable development for learners' capacity should be underlined. We needs to focus on developing software not hardware from the first of educational ODA. Finally, it is needed to embed within pedagogical approaches.
The studies related to the price of artworks have focused on how factors that are determined on production level, such as artists and the artwork materials of the studies, affect the artwork prices. As 'Dansekhwa' is in the spotlight within local Korean art auction matket, this study would like to analyze the trend of the price changes of 'Dansekhwa' with its growing popularity among the public. We have estimated the price changes based on 4,199 auction data of 20 artists with top 20 auction prices selected by the Korean Art Price Appraisal Association, between 2005 and 2016. Also, in order to compare and analyze the price changes of the 'Dansekhwa' products, we have classified the 20 artists into groups of Dansekhwa and non-Dansekhwa. Starting from 2013, when Dansekhwa has first appeared, we applied the Difference in the Difference model(DiD) to estimate the result. As a result, the difference between two groups showed 71% of price difference due to the increase in popularity of Dansekhwa. This result proves that recognition level has an important role for increase in price of an artwork. Moreover, the fact that the formalized style of Dansekhwa has linked to the appreciation of the price means that production of information could play an essential role in growth of art market. As recognition level of Korean artists and their artworks is considerably low within the local art market, putting in the effort to increase the popularity of artworks among the public might be a helpful way to magnify the potential demand.

This descriptive research study was undertaken to identify the degree of learning motivation, transfer climate, learning self-efficacy, and transfer motivation, and to correlate the variables, in nursing students receiving simulation-based education. The subjects of this study were 4th grade nursing students who completed a simulation course at a nursing university; data collected using the self-report questionnaire were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. Our results indicate high values of learning motivation, transfer climate (including the lower variables supervisor's support, peer's support, and transfer opportunity), learning self-efficacy, and transfer motivation. Learning motivation, learning self-efficacy, and transfer motivation significantly differed with respect to social motivation for entering school (Z=6.04, p=0.049; Z=6.92, p=0.031; Z=9.16, p=0.010, respectively) and major satisfaction (Z=8.55, p=0.036; Z=12.55, p=0.006; Z=13.47, p=0.004, respectively). All these variables were positively correlated, especially transfer motivation with learning motivation, supervisor's support, peer's support, transfer opportunity, and learning self-efficacy. Taken together, the results of this study indicate a need to develop an effective simulation-based education program to encourage transfer motivation, as well as follow-up studies that verify the causal relationship between transfer motivation and related variables.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of positive psychological capital on re-employment attitudes of youth in their 20s dealing with an unemployment rate of more than 10%. The effect of positive psychological capital on attitudes for re-employment was analyzed by domain, and is based on variables of positive psychological capital composed of self-efficacy, hope, resilience, and optimism. As a result, hope (3.64) was the highest on the scale; however, resilience (at 3.37) was the lowest. In the analysis of positive psychological capital, the university graduate group (3.89) was the highest. But, the high school graduate group (3.25) was the lowest. In the results for re-employment attitude based on education level, the university graduate group (4.93) was the highest, but the high school graduate group (3.80) was lowest. The main variables influencing re-employment attitude were (in order): hope, optimism, self-efficacy, and resilience. These factors have an explanatory power for the four variables of around 25%. Overall, young adults (in their 20s) have higher levels of positive psychological capital because they have a higher education level. Also, higher educated re-employed applicants have higher positive psychological capital and attitudes for re-employment, compared to the other groups.
