점용접된 차량 안전벨트 앵커의 과부하해석 및 $J_e$에 의한 피로수명예측 (Overload Analysis and $J_e$ Based Fatigue Life Prediction of Spot-Welded Auto Seat Belt Anchors)

  • We evaluate the effectiveness and validity of J(sub)e, which comprehensively describes the effects of specimen geometry and loading type, in predicting the fatigue life of auto seat belt anchor panel. We first simplify the heat affected zone model to reduce the number of finite elements. We then establish finite element models reflecting the actual overload behavior of 3 types of seat belt anchor specimens. Using finite element models elaborately established, we obtain the effective crack driving parameter J(sub)e composed of its ductility-dependent modal components. It is confirmed that the J(sub)e concept successfully predicts the fatigue life of multi-spot welded panel structures represented by auto seat belt anchors here.

삼각벨트 클러치의 성능 향상에 관한 연구 (Performance Improvement of Triangular-type V-belt Clutch)

  • This study was conducted to provide a direction for improving the performance of triangular-type belt clutch. The power transmission characteristics and the wear of belt were investigated for two types of pulley set theoretically and experimentally. The results of research were summarized as follows: 1) Based on the theoretical analysis for the life time of belt, the wear of belt could be reduced by increasing the sizes of driving V-pulley and tension pulley, and by decreasing the tension on V-belt. 2) The pulley set # 2 could transmit more power than the pulley set # 1 could at the same slop rate. While the slip rate was 2.36% on the pulley set # 2 at the maximum power transmission, the slip rate on the pulley set # 1 was increased up to 12.2% at the same condition. 3) From the 16 hours' fatigue test, the wear of belt used n the pulley set # 1 was observed severer than that in the pulley set#2. Also, it was found that the tensile strength of belt used in the pulley set # 2 was greater than that of belt used in the pulley set # 1.

자동차 안전벨트용 $Rukaflex^{(R)}$ 웨빙의 구조개선을 통한 마모특성 및 수명 향상

  • 최근, 선진국에서는 $Rukaflex^{(R)}$라는 새로운 구조의 웨빙을 개발하여, normal usage marks를 감소시키고, 웨빙의 품질을 향상시키려는 경향을 보인다. 기존의 웨빙은 멀티 필라멘트가 경/위사 방향으로 교차되는 구조를 갖는 소폭직물인데, 새로운 구조의 $Rukaflex^{(R)}$는 위사방향에 멀티 필라멘트와 모노 필라멘트를 동시에 사용하여 탄성률(resilience)을 높여서 구조 안정성을 항상시킨 형태의 웨빙이다. 본 연구에서는 $Rukaflex^{(R)}$ 웨빙의 수명을 구조개선 및 마모특성 향상을 통하여 50% 이상 향상시켰는데, 기존 웨빙과 초기 인장강도에서는 차이가 나지 않았으나 활성화 에너지, 형상모수, $B_{10}$ 수명이 증가한 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는, 척도모수에서는 기존 웨빙과 근소한 차이를 보이나 구조개선에 의한 마모특성 향상에 의하여, 균일한 마모 및 degradation 특성을 나타내므로, $B_{10}$ 수명이 향상된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Tire belt durability is characterized by the initiation of a crack at the belt edge region, and the propagation of the crack until the ply is separated. Experimental methods have been used to analysis of the belt durability in the cord-reinforced rubber composite tires, but it takes much cost and time to make experiments. In this paper, a finite element method to analyze the fatigue life of a crack at the belt edge of tires is presented. The fatigue life is analyzed by using a three-dimensional Finite Element Modeling. This method includes a global-local finite element analysis to provide the detail necessary to model explicitly an internal crack and use of the J-integral for energy release rate evaluation.

  • As the welding spot forms a singular geometry of an external crack type, fatigue failure of spot-welded specimens can be evaluated by means of a fracture parameter. Recasting the load vs. fatigue life relationships experimentally obtained, we predicted the fatigue life of spot-weld specimens with a single parameter denoted the equivalent stress intensity factor. This crack driving parameter is demonstrated to successfully describe the effects of specimen geometry and loading type in a comprehensive manner. The suggested fatigue life formula for a single spot weld can play a key role in the design and assessment of spot-welded panel structures, in that the fatigue strength of multi-spots is eventually determined by the fatigue strength of each single spot. We therefore attempt to evaluate the effectiveness and validity of $K_e$ in predicting the fatigue life of auto seat belt anchor panel. We first establish finite element models reflecting the actual mechanical behavior of 3 types of seat belt anchor specimens. Using finite element models elaborately established, we then obtain the effective crack driving parameter $K_e$ composed of its ductility -dependent modal components. It is confirmed that the $K_e$ concept successfully predicts the fatigue life of multi-spot welded panel structures represented by auto seat belt anchors here.

2층 고무/코드 적층판의 피로 수명 예측 (Prediction of Fatigue Life in 2 Ply Rubber/Cord Laminate)

  • 타이어 벨트층내의 코드간 균열연결 및 층간균열진전을 모사하기 위해 자유단을 갖는 2층 고무/코드 적층시험편에 대한 4~11mm 변위제어 실험을 수행하였다. 자유단의 코드간 균열연결시의 폭방향 균열진전량은 45$^{\circ}$ 경사진 코드들간 길이의 절반에 도달할 때의 측정값으로 하였으며, 이는 탐침법에 의해 측정되었다 또한, 자유단에서 코드들간 균열연결을 모사하기위해 2차원의 이상화된 모델링 기법을 고안하였다. 이론수명은 테어링에너지(균열파단면의 단위면적당 방출에너지)를 이용하여 코드간 균열연결수명(임계값)과 이후 최종파손까지의 수명으로 구분하였으며, 이들을 각기 실험값과 비교하였다. 임계값까지의 수명예측은 실험과 비교하여 약 20%, 최종파손까지 약 65%의 오차가 발생하였다. 따라서, 전체 이론수명은 실험과 비교하여 약 45%의 오차를 발생하였다.

벨트클러치 전동방식의 농업용 소형 스키드 스티어 로더 (Small Agricultural Skid-steer Loader Using Belt Clutch Power Transmission)

  • Since the skid-steer loader is able to work for excavating, lifting and transporting load even at the narrow space, they are widely used in the regular farm and the livestock farm. The skid-steer loader normally adopts the hydrostatic transmission because the power to move the machine backward and forward should be delivered independently on both sides of wheels. Contrast to the mechanical system such as chain and belt transmissions, however, the hydrostatic transmission is less efficient in the use of energy and more difficult in the maintenance. This study was intended to investigate the feasibility of using triangular-type belt clutch and V-belt transmission for the newly developed skid-steer loader in order to overcome the problems stated in the hydrostatic transmission. In the developed triangular-type belt clutch, the centers of driving, driven and idler sheaves are arranged in the triangular shape in a plane, and V-belts were loaded loosely on three sheaves. The power is transmitted by pressing the idler connected to a lever on the loosened V-belt. Contrast to the normal belt clutch using two sheaves, the newly developed belt clutch has the characteristics of small contact-angle of the driving sheave at no bucket load and increasing contact-angle at the time of power transmission. The results of research can be summarized as follows: 1) The developed triangular-type belt clutch adopted a spring-loaded slackside idler which could transmit more power than a fixed idler could by sacrificing the belt life. The life of V-belt used in the power transmission reached at 500 hours(6 months) when the engine power of 11.8 ㎾ was transmitted. Also, it was feasible to develop the large industrial skid-loader with the V-belt transmission by using the proper set of sheaves. 2) The developed skid-steer loader changed the rotating radius and speed with bucket loads as the conventional skid steer loader did. The rotating speed was 47 deg/s at the maximum bucket load of 2.74 kN when the minimum rotating radius was 1.5m. 3) The power required in turning at the bucket load of 2.74 kN was 4 ㎾ and the slippage of V-belt was less than 1%.

OHT 차량 벨트 동특성 및 피로 수명에 관한 연구 (A Study on Dynamic Analysis and Fatigue Life of the Belt in the OHT Vehicle)

  • The OHT(Over Head Transportation) Vehicle transports heavy products quickly and repeatedly at the industrial workplace. The belt in the OHT vehicle is used to support the weight of the OHT Cage. The fatigue of the belt is caused by the dynamic load during the operation time. Since the fatigue fracture of the belt affects the safety at the workplace, the correct prediction of the dynamic load is necessary to calculate the fatigue life of the belt on the design step. In this paper a computer aided analysis method is proposed for the belt in the early design stage using dynamic analysis, stress analysis, belt tensile test, belt fatigue test and fatigue lift prediction method. From the dynamic load time histories and the stress of the belt FE model, a dynamic stress time history is produced. Using linear damage law and cycle counting method, fatigue life cycle is calculated. The method developed in this paper is used to reduce the time and cost for designing the OHT belt in different environment and condition.

  • 운송업의 시장 규모가 커짐에 따라 물건들을 분류하는 방식에 관한 연구들이 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 그중 크로스벨트소터 방법이 많이 쓰이고 있다. 물건이 카트 위에서 이동하다가 원하는 위치에서 출하는 하는 방식이다. 현재 Bus bar와 collector의 접촉을 이용해 출하 시 전력을 공급하는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 이 방법은 유지와 관리에서 비용이 많이 든다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 Bus bar와 collector를 사용하지 않고, 카트에서 직접 물건 출하 시 필요한 전력을 만드는 방식에 대해 언급한다. 기존 배터리의 사용 대신, 온도와 수명, 전류방전에 이점을 가진 슈퍼캐패시터를 사용한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 슈퍼캐패시터의 충전과 출력이 높은 상황에서 슈퍼캐패시터가 전력을 보상해주는 동작을 검증한다.
