Belt Tension Distribution for Belt Contact Abrasive Belt Drive (벨트접촉식 연삭 벨트구동의 벨트 장력 분포)

  • Belt tension distribution for an abrasive blet grinding was investigated analytically and experimentally for (1) slack side and (2) tight side blet grinding. Classical Eytelwein equation was used to predict the belt tension distribution with dividing contact angles into (1) inactive and (2) active angles. General friction theory was modified based on the friction force between the belt and the support in the grinding contact area that was obtained by experiments. It was found that analytical results were in good agreement with the experimental results. Also, the tight side belt grinding was recommended since it could carry out more grinding load than that of slack side belt grinding.

  • 장거리 시스템의 경우에 있어서 기동과 정지 시의 동적하중은 구동부 입력크기의 변화와 구동부간이 기동 시간차이로부터 발생되며, 벨트로 전파되어 장력변화를 일으키고, 과도한 장력의 변화는 인장과 압축의 탄성파로 벨트요소의 응력을 증가시키며, 벨트, 풀리, 아이들러(idler)등의 벨트요소들을 파괴시킨다. 따라서 동적해석에 의한 설계가 필수적으로 요구되어 벨트의 동적거동 해석에 대한 연구가 많이 수행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 벨트 컨베이어 시스템을 집중질량모델(lumped mass model)로 근사하여 모델링하는 방법을 도입하여 세부요소에 대한 운동방정식을 유도하고, 각 요소 모델링을 결합하여 전체 운동방정식을 수립하였으며, 예제 시스템에 적용하여 동적거동을 해석하였다. 예제 시스템에 있어서 기동시의 구동입력을 두 가지 형태의 입력을 이용하였고, 정지시에는 구동부 브레이크가 없는 경우로 정상운전상태에서 순간적으로 구동부의 동력을 제거하는 방법을 적용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 통하여 기동시의 구동입력을 적절히 제어하므로 벨트 속도와 장력의 변화를 줄일 수 있는 입력형태를 결정할 수 있었고, 이 때의 테이크업의 운동도 구할 수 있었다.

A Study on the Inside Contact Characteristics Between Abrasive Belt and Pulley (연삭 벨트-풀리간의 내접촉 특성에 대한 연구)

  • The inside contact characteristics in abrasive belt drives were investigated analytically and experimentally for (1) driver pulley contact wheel and (2) driven pulley contact wheel. The concentrated contact forces in the grinding zone divided the entire belt-pulley contact are by three distinct areas and the tangential friction forces in the active areas caused the normal forces to change, which resulted in the different belt force distribution compared with those of the ordinary flat belt drives. The experimental results for the normal pressure (belt tension) distribution were in good agreement with the theoretical results.

  • In this paper, we make a study of a thermal deformation by FEM and test to define the deformation mode of the Vacuum-Cleaner's Nozzle-Cover. In FEM analysis, 3 different conditions were considered separately, such as (1) Compressive force by Belt tension, (2) Friction heat between Belt and Shaft and (3) Compressive force combined with heat. Throughout FEM analysis it was found that the deformation was caused by heat and it was proved through a simulation test with a real product.

  • There are two kinds of method to calculate the equivalent friction coefficients at V groove. One is to consider the firction in radial direction. The other is to neglect the friection in radial direction. The values calculated from the two methods is different of which ratio is in the range from two times to five times. So it is necessary to study which is correct in the view of force equilibrium and machine design.

  • The behavior of belt tension in OHC drive timing belt system was investigated analytically and experimentally for (1)fixed and (2)automatic tensioner. From the numerical results it was found that the automatic tensioner makes the belt tension larger than those of the fixed tensioner. When the initial belt tension decreased due to the belt elongation, the belt tension of the fixed tensioner could decrease to near zero while the belt tension for the automatic tensioner maintained above zero by the tensioner spring. The mean valve and the difference between the maximum and the minimum belt tension for the automatic tensioner increased compared with those of the fixed tensioner. Also, the numerical results for a hydraulic tensioner showed that the hydraulic tensioner has the good parts of both tensioners; i.e., thesmaller amplitude in belt tension and the higher mean tension. Experimental results for the automatic and fixed tensioner of the OHC timing belt system were in agreement with the theoretical results.

  • This paper persents an algorithm compensating for the change of tension acting on a belt which is used as a force transfer media of the induction motor that drives a washing machine. The induction motor adopted in a washing machine is operated not only for the power-transmission device, but also for the detection of clothes load. The load of clothes is determined by the duration of inertial rotation which is occurred by the induction motor during a specific time. The tension of belt also affects the determination of clothes load as another load and this change of the tension is a significant disturbance for accurate determination. This paper mentions the algorithm compensating for the amount of change in tension and the application of the algotithm proved to be effectively increasing the washing performance and reducing the noise and the vibration.

모터내장형 주축의 동특성 해석

  • 현재 대부분의 공작기계에서는 모터의 동력을 주축으로 전달하기 위해서 커플링, 밸트,기어 등을 사용하고 있지 만 주축이 고속회전할 수록 커플링 구동방법에서는 주축과 모터의 미스얼라인먼트에 의한 진동과 소음이 커지고 벨트 구동방법에서는 원심력에 의한 벨트 장력의 증가 및 벨트의 파손현상, 벨트와 풀리간의 미끄럼현상 등이 발생하며, 기거 구동방법에서는 기어간의 금속접촉에 의한 진동과 소음이 증대하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 모터내장형 주축의 동특성을 체계적으로 해석하기 위해서 유한요소모델을 도입하였다. 특히 공작기계 주축은 세장비가 비교적 작기 때문에 Timoshenko보 이론으로 모델화하였고, 여러장의 얇은 철심용 강판들도 적층된 내장형 모터의 회전부(rotor)는 굽힘변형 및 전단변형에 대해서 상당 수준의 강성효과를 나타내기 때문에 질량효과 외에도 그 강성효과를 수학적 모델에서 고려하였다, 또한 진동실험 결과로 부터 모터회전부의 강성특성을 규명하는 방법을 제시하였으며, 제안된 규명방법의 유용성은 모터내장형 주축에 대한 모드매개변수의 이론값과 실험값을 비교함으로써 입증하였다.

  • In this paper, a new formula for primary and secondary thrust of metal belt CVT is proposed considering variation of band tension, block compression and active arc for each of the primary and secondary pulleys. For the secondary thrust, effective friction coefficient is introduced considering the effect of flange deflection. Nondimensional primary and secondary thrust of the metal belt CVT by the new formula agree well with the experimental results except for low torque range, $0\;<\;{\lambda}\;<\;0.2$ at speed ration i = 1.0. The new formula can be used in design of the primary and secondary thrusts control system for the metal belt CVT.
