Digital Watermarking using HVS and Neural Network (HVS와 신경회로망을 이용한 디지털 워터마킹)

  • We propose an adaptive digital watermarking algorithm using HVS(human visual system) and SOM(Self-Organizing Map) among neural networks. This method adjusts adaptively the strength of the watermark which is embedded in different blocks according to block classification in DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) domain. All blocks in 3 classes out of 4 are selected to embed a watermark. Watermark sequences are embedded in 6 lowest frequency coefficients of each block except the DC component. The experimental results are excellent.

Image Warping Using Vector Field Based Deformation and Its Application to Texture Mapping (벡터장 기반 변형기술을 이용한 이미지 와핑 방법 : 텍스쳐 매핑에의 응용을 중심으로)

  • We introduce in this paper a new method for smooth foldover-free warping of images, based on the vector field deformation technique proposed by Von Funck et al. It allows users to specify the constraints in two different ways: positional constraints to constrain the position of a point in the image and gradient constraints to constrain the orientation and scaling of some parts of the image. From the user-specified constraints, it computes in the image domain a C1-continuous velocity vector field, along which each pixel progressively moves from its original position to the target. The target positions of the pixels are obtained by solving a set of partial derivative equations with the 4th order Runge-Kutta method. We show how our method can be useful for texture mapping with hard constraints. We start with an unconstrained planar embedding of a target mesh using a previously known method (Least Squares Conformal Map). Then, in order to obtain a texture map that satisfies the given constraints, we use the proposed warping method to align the features of the texture image with those on the unconstrained embedding. Compared to previous work, our method generates a smoother texture mapping, offers higher level of control for defining the constraints, and is simpler to implement.

  • 본 논문에서는 비대칭적 화질을 갖는 양안식 3DTV 시스템에서 좌우영상간의 화질차이가 크게 발생하는 경우, 열화된 우영상의 화질을 보상하기위한 부가정보로 양안시차 벡터맵을 사용하는데, 이때 넓은 대역폭을 갖는 부가정보를 효율적으로 부호화하여 전송하기위한 방법을 제안한다. 공간적인 중복성을 피하기 위해 쿼드트리 분해방식을 적용하였고, 양안시차 벡터의 시간적 중복성을 고려하여 부호화 효율을 높였다. 제안된 압축 알고리듬인 가변블록 부호화 방안을 적용한 복원영상은 비슷한 전송률을 갖는 고정블록 복원영상에 비해 개선된 PSNR을 가짐을 실험을 통해 확인하였다.

  • The edge descriptor proposed by MPEG-7 standard is a representative approach for the contents-based image retrieval using the edge information. In the edge descriptor, the edge information is the edge histogram derived from a gray-level value image. This paper proposes a new method which extracts color edge information from color images and a new approach for the contents-based image retrieval based on the color edge histogram. The poposed method and technique are applied to image retrieval of the e-catalogue. For the evaluation, the results of image retrieval using the proposed approach are compared with those of image retrieval using the edge descriptor by MPEG-7 and the statistics shows the efficiency of the proposed method. The proposed color edge model is made by combining the R,G,B channel components vectorially and by characterizing the vector norm of the edge map. The color edge histogram using the direction of the color edge model is subsequently used for the contents-based image retrieval.

  • 모바일 기기가 가지는 다양한 화면 사이즈 등을 고려한 정보 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 비트맵 기반의 JPG나 GIF 보다는 벡터 기반의 SVG, Flash Lite와 같은 이미지 포맷이 더 적합하다. 대부분의 모바일 기기의 경우 작은 메모리, 협소한 네트워크 대역폭, 불안전한 네트워크 연결 등과 같은 제약성을 가지고 있기 때문에 모바일 기기와 서버 간의 정보나 데이터의 망과 전송 시간을 단축시키기 위한 다양한 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 모바일 기기에서 정보를 표현하기 위하여 사용되는 SVG와 같은 XML 파일들을 효과적으로 전송하기 위한 방법을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, chord progress pattern of popular music is analyzed, and based on this optimal chord pattern, bit matrix of melody information is used for the input vector of neural network. Experimental result showed that possibility of computer composition based on neural network is verified. With regard to some given melody, by making use of proposed method, it is also possible to reconstruct the various melody.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to apply the purchase preference of a user in on-line shopping mall. To analyze the preference, we use topic preference vector. The topic is purchase count of products. In this structure, we construct the association the four factors; Purchase Hit meaning the purchase count of product, Count meaning the purchase count by other users in interesting product, Preference meaning product preference, and product meaning information of the product. By this structure and the method, we could show that proposed method displayed the product applying user preference, effectively.

  • 인터넷의 급속한 발전은 기존의 정적인 웹을 탈피하여 사용자들로 하여금 더욱더 동적이고 다양한 콘텐츠를 요구하는 형태로 바뀌어 가는 실정이다. 따라서 이러한 사용자들의 욕구를 충족시키기 위해 인터넷 상에서 표현의 고급화와 체계적이고 구조적인 방식의 콘텐츠를 생성하고 관리하기 위한 방법들이 논의됨에 따라 이를 충족시키기 위한 방법으로 W3C(World Wide Web Consortium)에서는 SVG(Sealable Vector Graphics)를 제안하였다. SVG는 기존의 인터넷에서 사용되던 비트맵 기반의 디스플레이 보다 훨씬 풍부하고 정교한 그래픽 표현을 제공하기 때문에 기능이나 장지 호환성의 희생 없이 완전하게 벡터 그래픽을 표현한다. 또한. 그래픽에 대한 논리적인 구조를 기술함으로써 인덱싱, 검색, 저장 또는 공유가 가능하도록 정의하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 SVG에 관한 기초기술 연구 및 구조화된 SVG 문서를 사용자 중심의 편집 인터페이스를 통해 일반 사용자들이 손쉽게 그래픽 객체를 직접 저작함에 따라 복잡한 SVG 구문을 자동으로 생성하는 SVG 문서 저작 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다.

  • Geometric cutting-simulation and verification play an important role in detecting NC machining errors in mold & die manufacturing and thereby reducing correcting time & cost on the shop floor. Current researches in the area may be categorized into view-based, solid-based, and discrete vector-based methods mainly depending on workpiece models. Each methodology has its own strengths and weaknesses in terms of computing speed, representation accuracy, and its ability of numerical inspection. The paper proposes a hybrid modeling scheme for workpiece representation with z-map model and discrete vector model, which performs 3-axis and 5-axis cutting-simulation via tool swept surface construction by connecting a sequence of silhouette curves.

  • For map services in the mobile environment, it should be considered that resource restriction or the mobile device. on, if a map database dedicated to mobile services may not be developed, the spatial data extracted from general map databases should be simplified before transmitting. % is paper suggests the filtering methods to manipulate the spatial data, which are changed to be able to displayed on the mobile devices. The suggested methods are evaluated by experiments. This method is based on the map generalization operator 'selection' and is refined to adapt on mobile phone environments.
