파워 스티어링용 베인 펌프 유량 제어부 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Flow Control Valve Attached to Vane Pump for Power Steering)

  • The numerical analysis and the experiments are carried out to develop the design program for the flow control valve attached to the vane pump for power steering. The factors affecting the flow rate characteristics are analyzed by the experiments and the numerical analysis. The results are summarized as follows; (1) the main factors affecting to the first and second control flow rate are the diameter of big and small rod of the spool. (2) the cut off is mainly affected by the main spring constant, the initial displacement of main spring and the small diameter of the spool. (3) the dropping slope characteristics are decided by the chamfer of spool and the dynamic characteristics of the spool.

  • In this study, a new design of an one-body type of an unbalanced-fixed- displacement type vane pump combined with an induction type electric motor was suggested. By the application of the new design scheme, it was possible to reduce the number of parts of the pump system and to cut down the volume of power package than that of already-used products. The case in this study enabled efficient heat transfer and electricity insulation of hydraulic fluid. Thus oil moves through the inside of the package for cooling and returns to the reservoir. Because of this design, it was difficult to measure the shaft-input torque. Therefore the package overall efficiency in the paper was evaluated with a ratio of hydraulic power and electric power.

  • This paper reports on theoretical study of the pressure overshoot in the delivery ports and pressure rising within balanced type vane pump. Pressure overshoot occur due to the accelerated fluid through the notch, so, result in pressure ripple, flow ripple, and noise. For calculating the pressure rising and fluctuations of pressure, we have modeled mathematically used continuity equation based on compressibility and momentum equation considered fluid inertia in the notch, and analyzed simultaneously. As a results of analysis, we have found oscillation of pressure and compression chamber pressure depend on the rotational speeds, bulk modulus of working fluid, notches, number of vane and camring. Using the model, notches have been shown to be important design factor in relaxing the rapid pressure rising and reducing the amplitudes of pressure overshoot.

  • This paper presents the deformation characteristics of cam ring in a balanced type vane pump. Cam ring is operated in the high-pressure condition. Therefore the local deformation of cam ring affects the characteristics of compression, vane motion and noise and vibration. We analyzed the deformation of cam ring for the three types by using the finite element method. The deformed shape of cam ring and the effects of deformation on the compression are presented. As a result of analysis, we know that the right hole of the cam ring has advantage for reducing the pressure overshoot.

  • Recently, according as the supply of power steering system has been diffused, for the comfortable driving condition, the problem to reduce the noise and vibration of this system suddenly appeared. This system can be classified two systems of the pipe line and the pump. In this paper, it is described about the noise characteristic with the camring profile of the hydraulic vane pump. As a result, when it excesses tolerance, the noise is increased. Moreover, in the case of the same of cam-ring, the effect of the rotating speed is larger than the discharge pressure.

베인 펌프의 내부 비정상 압력특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Internal Dynamic Pressure of Vane Pump)

  • This paper presents the experimental study of the dynamic internal pressure within a vane pump. The measurement of the dynamic internal pressure acting on the line contact between the vane and the camring in a vane pump with intravanes have been investigated. The variations of the radial acting force of a vane are calculated from previously measured results of dynamic internal pressure in four chambers surrounding a vane, and the variations of the film thickness are estimated in both the rotational speed ranges from 600 to 1200 rpm and the delivery pressure ranges from 1 to 14 MPa. The experimental technic has been established to obtain the data for performance analysis, such as reaction forces between vane and camring, friction wear at the contact regions, leakage characteristics and net forces upon the pump shaft in case of the unsteady load which is forced to the intravane pressure balance type vane pump.

  • This paper reports on the theoretical study of the delivery pressure ripples of a positive displacement vane pump which is widely used for automobile power steering. Pressure ripples occur due to the flow tipples which induced cam ring profiles and reverse flow from the delivery ports. In this paper, the mathematical model for analyzing the pressure ripples has been presented, and set of the differential equationshave been solved using the Runge-Kutta method. As the results of analysis, instant ideal flow ripples, internal pressure, delivery pressure ripples, and delivery flow ripples have been presented. Internal pressure was related to delivery pressure variations, and amplitude of pressure tipples was increased with rotational speed and delivery pressure.

  • This paper presents in experimental study of the dynamic internal pressure within an oil hydraulic vane pump. The measurements of the dynamic internal pressures near the vane of a pressure balance type of an oil hydraulic vane pump with intravanes has been made to provide the essential information for the study of the pump dynamics and control, the pump design and the analysis of tribological problems in the sliding components. The influences of the discharge pressure and rotating speed of the vane on the dynamic pressure in four chambers surrounding a vane have been investigated. The results indicate that the surge pressures of the chambers at the instant moment of discharge and closure are affected by the rotating speed. The pressure in the intravane chamber maintains almost constant values, which remarkably effects the pulsating discharge pressure.

  • The modeling and the numerical analysis are done so as to develop the Computer Aided Design program for the design of flow control valve attached to the vane pump. The factors affecting the flow rate characteristics, are analyzed by the experiments and the numerical methods. It is shown that the main factor affecting to the first control flow is the diameter of small rod of the spool, the main factor affecting to the second control flow is the diameter of big rod of the spool, the main factors affecting to the cut off are the main spring constant, the initial displacement of main spring and small diameter of the spool, and the dropping slope characteristics of flow rate are decided by the chamfer of spool and the dynamic characteristics of the spool.
