In this study, the influence of the near field, far field and radiation directivity of microstrip patch antenna when is used mushroom EBG(Electromagnetic Band Gap) as ground is investigated. Using characteristic of dispersion diagram of mushroom EBG, we calculated forbidden band(2.36GHz-2.85GHz) given mushroom type EBG microstrip antenna(2.45GHz) having 2-layer EBG that is operating within forbidden band. In oder to conform performance enhancemen of antenna using EBG ground, we have compared with the antenna using PEC(Perfect Electric Conductor) ground. We could know about 2.74dB increment of the radiation directivity, because EBG can suppress surface wave that is generated at interfaces of the dielectrics-conductor.

A flow visualization study was carried out for the branch pipe mixing flow in which a jet was issued normally to the fully developed pipe flow. An instantaneous laser tomographic method was used for cross flow Reynolds numbers based on the cross flow diameter D ranged $Re_{cf}=5.26{\times}10^3{\sim}1.13{\times}10^4$, diameter ratios d/D = 0.1 ~ 0.2 and velocity ratios R = 0.5 ~ 10. Oil mist with the size of about $10{\mu}m$ diameter was used for the scattering particle. The main purpose of this study was to reveal the physical mechanism and the structure of vortices formation with varying the velocity ratios and diameter ratios in the branch pipe flow. It was found that the physical mechanism and the structures of vortices formation were quite different depending on the velocity ratios. Particularly in the case of R < 1, the typical vortex shows single loop shape and that for the case of R > 1 depicts mushroom-like structure in the cross flow jet.

In the fully developed internal flow fields, there are complex transition flows caused by interaction of the cross flow and jet when jet is Injected Into the flow. These interactions are studied by means of the flow visualization methods. An instantaneous laser tomographic method is used to reveal the physical mechanism and the structure of vortices formation in the branch pipe flow. The velocity range of cross flow of the pipe is 0.7m/s and the corresponding Reynolds number $R_{cf}$, based on the duct height is $5.6{\times}10^3$, diameter/height ratios(d/H) 0.14 and velocity ratios 3.0. Oil mist with the size of $10{\mu}m$ diameter is used for the scattering particle. The instantaneous topological features of the vortex ring roll-up of the jet shear layer and characteristics of this flow are studied in detail by performing flow visualization in rectangular duct flow. It is found that the formation and roll-up of ring vortices is a periodic phenomenon. The detailed topology of the vortices in the near field of a cross -flow jet and the mechanism associated with them give enforced hints of vortex breakdown within the vortex system due to the interaction of the jet and the cross-flow.
In this study, we measured antioxidant activity as DPPH radical scavenging and the total polyphenol content of pulverized and lyophilized oak pollens inoculated with fungi to confirm the husk removal effect. The total polyphenol content of oak pollen was highest in lyophilized pollen medium inoculated with Armillaria mellea, and was lowest in pollen inoculated with Lentinula edodes. Total polyphenol content of the lyophilized pollen was higher than that of the refined pollen and the pulverized pollen in oak pollen germinated with A. mellea. The total polyphenol content of the lyophilized oak pollen germinated with A. mellea was 1.4-fold higher than that extracted with water. Measurement of antioxidant activity using the DPPH (2, 2 diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) free radical scavenging method showed that the lyophilized oak pollen germinated with A. mellea had the highest and that germinated with L. edodes was lowest in antioxidant activities. The lyophilized oak pollen germinated with A. mellea was 2 to 4 times higher than that extracted with water in the antioxidant activity of DPPH free radical scavenging. Many germinated cells were formed around pore of acorn pollen inoculated with L. edodes, while those were formed at the end of hyphae derived from oak pollen inoculated with A. mellea.

A dual-frequency dual-polarization (DFDP) antenna with high isolation between two ports by embedding $2{\times}1$ mushroom-like electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) cells is proposed. The equivalent circuit of a suspended microstrip line over $2{\times}1$ EBG cells is introduced. The numerical analysis from the equivalent circuit and measured results show that the microstrip line with embedded EBG cells has a distinctive and sharp rejection band and provides near 0 dB insertion loss outside the rejection band. By embedding the EBG cells under feedlines of a conventional DFDP antenna, the isolation between two ports of the antenna is enhanced more than 20 dB, as compared to that of a conventional DFDP antenna. The proposed DFDP antenna is fabricated and measured. The simulated and measured results show a good agreement. The measured polarization purity and gain of the antenna are 25 dB and 5.77 dBi at lower band, and 35 dB and 7.13 dBi at higher band, respectively.

The ultrastructures of the fertilized egg envelope from long nose barbel, Hemibarbus longirostris belong to Cyprinidae was studied using scanning and transmission electron microscopes. The fertilized egg was adhesive type, have a single micropyle resembling the pathway of sperm in the area of the animal pole. An outer surface of the fertilized egg envelope was arranged by adhesive structures irregularly. In section of fertilized egg, the egg envelope consists of two layers, an outer adhesive twofold layer with mushroom-like cluster and an inner lamellae layer consisting of four layers. These ultrastructural characters of fertilized egg envelope from long nose barbel can be utilized in taxonomy of teleost.

In order to enhance the isolation level between two dual-band E-slot microstrip patch antennas, EBG structure which operates in UMTS Tx(1.92~1.98 GHz) and Rx(2.11~2.17 GHz) band is proposed. The proposed EBG structure made with a periodic array of two different size EBG unit cells which has a modified mushroom-type for isolation improvement between two antennas. They do not share a common ground plane of the microstrip patch antenna. Overall size of the fabricated antenna is $210.5mm{\times}117mm$. The two different EBG unit cell sizes are $15.6mm{\times}4mm$ and $17.4mm{\times}4mm$, respectively. It was etched on the FR-4 substrate(thickness=3.93 mm, ${\varepsilon}_r$=4.6). The experiment results show that the isolation level between antennas in Tx/Rx band were improved by about 9 dB and 12 dB, respectively, through the use of the proposed EBG structure.

In this paper, a mushroom typed electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure to be inserted in the printed circuit board (PCB) inner layer in order to stabilize the PCB power line is proposed for global-navigation satellite service (GNSS). In designing the proposed EBG structure, the target stop-bandwidth was designed from 1.55GHz to 1.81GHz including GNSS and mobile communication-related frequency bandwidth. In this bandwidth, the insertion loss(S21) was observed below about -40dB. From the simulation results, it is expected that the stabilization of power delivery network (PDN) structure in the PCB circuit design should be improved and the effective correspondence to EMI will be helpful.

Trichoderma harzianum SJG-99721 have been shown to act as a powerful biological agent against fungal phytopathogens; Botrytis cinerea, Rhizoctonia solani, Phytophthora cryptogea, Phytophthora capsiei, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Mycoshaerella melonis, Alternaria sotani, Fusarium oxysporum, Collectotrichum gloesporioodes, Alternaria alternata, Phythium ultimum, Phytophthora drechsleri, Pyricularia grisea.
