  • Recently, The cloud computing technology is emerging as an important issue in the world and the cloud computing has attracted much attention to the technology about carbon dioxide reduction. However, Unlike to the positive aspects of a cloud computing are included several security vulnerabilities. For this reason, the carbon dioxide reduction of a cloud computing technology has a differences. Therefore, this paper will be analyzed to the carbon dioxide emission factors of a cloud computing through the cloud case studies related $CO_2$ emissions and experiments measured of $CO_2$ emissions a security system. and In the future, this is expected to be utilized as a basis for the security design and performance improvement.

  • 국내 도시는 1960년대이후의 산업화에 따라 인구와 산업이 도시로 집중되어 급속하고 거대한 성장을 이루었고 대기오염 현상의 다양화, 복합화로 인해 스모그와 시정장애 등 새로운 오염현상이 심각해지고 있다. 도시지역 대기중의 오염물질 농도수준은 오염 배출원의 분포 및 배출강도 그리고 지역의 지형, 기상 요인 등 많은 요인에 따라 좌우된다. 특히, 대도시는 경제ㆍ사회ㆍ문화 등 다양한 요소들이 복합적으로 상호 작용하는 유기체적인 공간으로 특정 지역에로의 집중과 분산이 일어나면서 다양한 공간구조(예; 신시가지, 산업단지 등)를 만들어 가고(이광국 등) 이런 변화에 따라 대기오염의 공간적 분포 경향 역시 달라져 갈 것이다. Coastal Eutrophication caused by Effluent from Aquaculture Ponds in Jeju (제주연안 육상양식장 밀집지역 주변해역의 영양염 과잉 요인)

  • This study investigated the temporal-spatial distribution and variations in water quality parameters (temperature, salinity, pH, DO, COD, SPM, DIN, DIP, silicate, TN, TP, and chlorophyll-a) in the coastal area of Jeju, Korea, adjacent to aquaculture ponds (Aewol-ri, Haengwon-ri, Pyosun-ri, and Ilkwa-ri). Data were collected bimonthly from February 2010 to December 2011. A principal component analysis (PCA) identified three major factors controlling variations in water quality during the sampling period. Aquaculture effluent water led to large changes in nutrient levels. The highest nutrient values were observed during the investigation period. The relatively large increase in organic matter at the sampling stations coupled with sea area runoff events during the summer rainy period. Variation in chlorophyll-a concentration was mainly driven by meteorological factors such as air temperature and rainfall in the coastal areas of Aewol and Haengwon. In the coastal areas of Pyosun and Ilkwa, pollution was caused by anthropogenic factors such as discharge of aquaculture effluent water. High nutrient concentrations at the majority of the coastal stations indicate eutrophication of coastal waters, especially within a distance of 300 m and depth of 10m from drainage channels. Coastal eutrophication driven by aquaculture effluent may be harmful inshore. Events such as eutrophication may potentially influence water pollution in aquaculture ponds when seawater intake is detected because of aquaculture effluent water.

An Analysis of the Regional Differences of Waste Generation (폐기물 배출량의 지역간 차이에 관한 분석)

  • 이 논문은 공간적 환경연구의 한 시도로서, 폐기물관리의 출발점인 폐기물 배출량의 지역간 차이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 구명하는 것에 목적이 있다. 연구지역은 독일 노르트라인 베스트팔렌주의 396개 게마인데이며, 연구자료로는 폐기물통계, 인구 및 주택센서스 자료 그리고 폐기물처리에 관한 조례가 이용되었다. 분석결과에 의하면 가정폐기물의 1인당 배출량은 지역규모, 인구구조, 가구규모, 가옥유형, 거주공간, 경제구조 등의 지역구조와 가정폐기물의 수거제도 및 처리경로, 분리수거 등의 폐기물 관리대책에 의해서 복합적으로 영향을 받고 있었다. 또한 1인당 가정폐기물 배출량의 지역간 변동을 최대한 설명하기 위해 수행한 다중 직선회귀분석에서 지역구조나 폐기물관리와 관련된 변수들을 포함하는 유의한 회귀모델을 도출하였다. 분석결과가 시사하는 바는 폐기물은 효율적인 관리를 통해 단기간에 감량이 가능하며, 특히 지역구조에 적합한 수집함체계 및 분리수거제도의 도입 등 효율적인 수거제도를 통해 감량효과를 극대화할 수 있다는 점이다.

  • This study examines the equilibrium investment on the pollution abatement when firms are facing Cournot competition in the output market while the pollution permit market is perfectly competitive. Unlike standard perfect competition scenario, the abatement investment delivers an indirect effect in which it reduces other firms' equilibrium output. Consequently, compared with the socially optimal level, overinvestment arises. I also overview the potential inefficiencies that imperfect market structure induces under the emission trading scheme, presenting policy implications.

  • To resolve the Global Warming problem, it have to reduce $CO_2$ emission. Korea need to do actively more the effort to reduce the emission because $CO_2$ emission per person is top level in the world. It is performing variously. However, we should recognize the $CO_2$ emission attribute to decrease $CO_2$. Analyzing $CO_2$ emission of the construction equipment is important in this aspect. Present, the most popular $CO_2$ emission measuring method is the way using fuel consumption and emission factor. But this method have the problem of reliability because can't reflect the factor being out of proportion at fuel consumption. This study analyzed the reason of difference and compared to the emission factor method after calculate $CO_2$ emission in direct measurement method.

  • Researches on the emissions of greenhouse gases in the construction industry, which accounts for 40% of raw materials, 30% of energy consumption, and 30% of $CO_2$ emissions in the entire industry, are mainly focused on studies of LCA. However, it is assessed that $CO_2$ emissions are higher in construction sequence than in operation sequence. Also, it is considered that construction machinery using fossil fuel is a main factor causing environmental load in construction sequence. Therefore, this study analyzes the workload and engine RPM characteristics of the excavator which is the second largest number of registered construction machinery in Korea and the highest utilization rate in actual construction site. The excavator is divided into non-load states and load states where power is transmitted to the excavator. The exhaust gas is analyzed by a direct measurement method using PEMS equipment. $CO_2$ emissions are estimated by analyzing the relationship between RPM and exhaust emission characteristics according to the actual driving conditions. Additionally, we analyze the difference between $CO_2$ emissions of construction machine calculated by this study and $CO_2$ emissions calculated by using carbon emission coefficient.

An Economic Factor Analysis of Air Pollutants Emission Using Index Decomposition Methods (대기오염 배출량 변화의 경제적 요인 분해)

  • The following policy implications can be drawn from this study: 1) The Air Pollution Emission Amount Report published by the Ministry of Environment since 1991 classifies industries into 4 sectors, i. e., heating, manufacturing, transportation and power generation. Currently, the usability of report is very low and extra efforts should be given to refine the current statistics and to improve the industrial classification. 2) Big pollution industries are as follows - s7, s17 and s20. The current air pollution control policy for these sectors compared to other sectors are found to be inefficient. This finding should be noted in the implementation of future air pollution policy. 3) s10 and s17 are found to be a big polluting industrial sector and its pollution reduction effect is also significant. 4) The effect of emission coefficient (${\Delta}f$) has the biggest impact on the reduction of emission amount change and the effect of economic growth coefficient (${\Delta}y$) has the biggest impact on the increase of emission volume. The effect of production technology factor (${\Delta}D$) and the effect of the change of the final demand structure (${\Delta}u$) are insignificant in terms of the change of emission volume. 5) Further studies on emission estimation techniques on each industry sector and the economic analysis are required to promote effective enforcement of the total volume control system of air pollutants, the differential management of pollution causing industrial sectors and the integration of environment and economy. 6) Korea's economic growth in 1990 is not pollution-driven in terms of the Barry Commoner's hypothesis, even though the overall industrial structure and the demand structure are not environmentally friendly. It indicates that environmental policies for the improvement of air quality depend mainly on the government initiatives and systematic national level consideration of industrial structures and the development of green technologies are not fully incorporated.
