The relationship between the array invariant-based ranging and the effective range in a weakly range-dependent environment (거리 종속 환경에서의 배열 불변성 기반 거리추정과 상응 거리와의 관계)

  • In shallow water, the array invariant, known as the effective range estimation method, is developed based on the broadband dispersion characteristics in an ideal waveguide, which can be summarized by the waveguide invariant. It is robust enough to estimate both the array tilt and range simultaneously, even in situations where array tilt exists. Recently, it has been extended to fully consider the angle dependence of the waveguide invariant. However, applying the array invariant in range-dependent environments instead of range-independent environments can lead to range estimation errors due to bathymetry mismatch. In this paper, we interpret such range estimation errors by introducing the concept of effective range. Through numerical simulations and experimental data in a weakly range-dependent environment, we demonstrate the relationship between range estimation errors and effective range.

  • This paper presents an algorithm for passive localization of a ship by applying the ray back-propagation technique to the ship radiation noise data. The previous method [S. H. Abadi, D. Rouseff and D. R. Dowling, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 131, 2599-2610 (2012)] estimates the position of a sound source in the near-field environment with no array tilt by using the RBD (Ray-based Blind Deconvolution) and ray back-propagation techniques. However, when there exists an array tilt, the above method leads to a large position estimation error. In order to overcome the problem, this study proposes an algorithm that estimates the position of a sound source by correcting the array tilt using the RBD and ray back-propagation techniques. The proposed algorithm was verified by using the ship noise of SAVEX15 (Shallow-water Acoustic Variability EXperiment in 2015) experimental data.

  • In this paper, an analysis about the elevation angle accuracy degradation of an APAR(Airport Precision Approach Radar) due to the multi-path effect using a phased array antenna was performed. An APAR installed around a runway of airport will be continuously affected in a runway surface of the fixed environment. In this paper, an analysis about the elevation angle accuracy degradation of APAR due to the multi-path effect of runway surface was conducted through a calculation of monopluse slope and sum/difference beam pattern analysis of array antenna. Also, a difference pattern for monopulse to minimize this degradation was optimized in an appropriate configuration to improve a elevation angle accuracy. Finally, a degree of improvement of elevation angle accuracy was confirmed by calculating a monopulse slope including the ground reflection after applying optimized difference patterns of array antenna.

  • In this paper, we proposed a continuously variable true time-delay for transmit linear phased-array antenna sing chirped fiber gratings(CFGs) and a tunable laser source. Average group delay-slope of the CFG was treasured to be 177 ps/nm at L-, S-, and X-band. Simulation results show that the maximum gain of the transmit linear phased-array antenna with the beam steering angle of 180$^{\circ}$ is 11.6 dB at 10 GHz.

  • 두개의 다른 고상이 동시에 액상으로부터 응고되는 공정합금에 일방향응고를 적용함에 따라 응고방향으로 규칙적으로 잘 배열된 복합재료를 만들 수 있다. 이렇게 방향성을 가지고 응고된 공정조직은 여러 가지 기계적, 전기적, 자기적 특수분야에 이용될 수 있다. 그런데 공정조직의 상간격은 재료의 기계적, 물리적 성질과 밀접한 관계를 가지며 응고속도, 온도기울기와 같은 일방향응고의 변수에 따라 결정된다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 금속합금계와 유사한 섬유상 공정조직을 보이는 NaNO$_3$-NaCl계를 이용하여 공정조직의 미세구조와 일방향응고 변수와의 관계를 조사하였다. 또한 액상으로부터 시간에 따른 냉각곡선으로부터 공정온도와 공정조성부근의 부분상태도를 구하였다. 그리고 응고녹도(V)에 따른 섬유상간격(λ$_{E}$ )의 실험적 관계식을 두가지의 온도기울기에 대하여 구하여 금속재료의 결과식과 비교, 검토하였다.

Design of Slot-Coupled Back-to-Back Microstrip Phased Array Antenna with Symmetrical SSAIP Configuration (대칭 SSAIP 구조의 슬롯 결합 Back-to-Back 마이크로스트립 위생배열 안테나의 설계)

  • 본 연구에서는 수평면에 대해서 양방향성을 갖고 접지면을 향해서 주빔이 25$^{\circ}$의 기울기로 지향하도록 설계된 대칭 SSAIP(Strip, Air, Inverted Patch) 구조의 슬롯 결합 back-to-back 마이크로스트립 위생배열 안테나를 설계, 제작하였다. 이 구조의 안테나는 2-섹터 셀 사이트에서 기지국 또는 중계기의 지향성 안테나에 적용할 수 있으며, 도로 환경에 따라 지향각 25$^{\circ}$를 기준으로 약 $\pm$$10^{\circ}$정도 빔을 틸트할 수 있도록 위상기와 결합된다. 안테나는 공동모델을 이용하여 해석하고 앙상블로 설계한다. IMT-2000의 상.하향 링크 주파수 범위인 1.885~2.2GHz에서 안테나를 측정한 결과 임피던스 대역폭은 약 21%이였으며, $\pm$37$^{\circ}$의 지향각 오차를 보였다.

  • May(1945)에 의하여 임팩터가 개발된 이후 임팩터의 단별 분리입경의 정확성을 증가시키고, 기판에서 입자의 채취량을 늘리며, 임팩터 내부의 입자손실과 기판에서 입자가 충돌하여 튀어나오는 것(bounce)을 줄일 수 있는 방법 등이 꾸준히 연구되고 있다. 가속 노즐의 형상을 사각형에서 원형으로 변경하여 분리효율곡선의 기울기(stiffness)를 증가시킬 수 있었고(Mitchell and Filcher, 1959), 임팩터의 한 단에 여러 개의 가속 노즐을 가공한 다중 노즐(multi-jet) 임팩터를 사용함으로써 단의 분리입경을 낮추고, 입자의 채취량을 늘릴 수 있게 되었다(Anderson, 1958).   • 예인형 선배열 소나에서 기존의 선배열 빔형성 기법을 적용하면 예인함 기동시 선배열 형상 변형에 의해 심각한 성능 저하 현상이 나타난다. 이러한 문제 해결을 위해 센서배열 변형을 고려한 견실한 빔형성 기법은 선배열 형상 추정을 위해 칼만필터를 이용한 형상 추정기법을 이용하고, 변형보상 빔형성을 위해 선배열 세그먼트 기울기 추정값을 이용하는 변형보상 빔형성 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 기법을 기존의 빔형성 기법을 적용하여 시뮬레이션에 의해 제안된 기법의 보상성능을 입증 하였다.

  • It is not uncommon to observe tilt of buildings and towers as a result of unexpected differential foundation settlements. Over the years, a number of engineering methods including the soil extraction technique have been attempted to reduce inclination of buildings and towers. In this research, a series of novel geotechnical centrifuge model tests by using a state-of-the-art in-flit robotic manipulator have been conducted to study key factors which govern the restoration of building tilts. In the centrifuge model tests, the robotic manipulator was used to drill and extract soil in-flight near an initially tilted model building. The soil extraction was to induce stress release, thereby mitigating the inclination of the model building. Insights into the effects of different configurations, soil density and sequences of drilling observed during the centrifuge model tests on the restoration of the model building are to be investigated.

  • This paper describes position estimation algorithm using neural network for the navigation of the vision-based Wheeled Mobile Robot (WMR) in a corridor with taking ceiling lamps as landmark. From images of a corridor the lamp's line on the ceiling in corridor has a specific slope to the lateral position of the WMR. The vanishing point produced by the lamp's line also has a specific position to the orientation of WMR. The ceiling lamps has a limited size and shape like a circle in image. Simple image processing algorithms are used to extract lamps from the corridor image. Then the lamp's line and vanishing point's position are defined and calculated at known position of WMR in a corridor To estimate the lateral position and orientation of WMR from an image, the relationship between the position of WMR and the features of ceiling lamps have to be defined. Data set between position of WMR and features of lamps are configured. Neural network are composed and teamed with data set. Back propagation algorithm(BPN) is used for learning. And it is applied in navigation of WMR in a corridor.
