  • We proposed a realtime object tracking system that detects the abandoned or disappeared objects. Because these events are caused by human, we used the tracking based algorithm. After the background subtraction by Gaussian mixture model, the shadow removal is applied for accurate object detection. The static object is classified as either of abandoned objects or disappeared object. We assigned monitoring time to the static object to overcome a situation that it is being overlapped by other object. We obtained more accurate detection by using region growing method. We implemented our algorithm by DSP processor and obtained an excellent result throughout the experiment.

  • The changes of ascorbic acid(AsA) and dehydroascorbic acid(DHAA) contents in distilled water, carrot juice, and carrot+vegetable juices under different incubation time and temperature were determined by using high performance liquid chromatography. AsA in carrot juice was more stable than that in distilled water. AsA contents in distilled water and carrot juice were gradually reduced in a time and temperature dependent manner. AsA contents in carrot juice and carrot+ vegetable juices stored in refrigerator(4$^{\circ}C$) for 2 and 24 hours appeared to decrease, but the DHAA contents in all samples increased. Total vitamin C(AsA+DHAA) contents in carrot juice and carrot +vegetable juices remained with the high residue values of 90~97% after incubating at 4$^{\circ}C$ for 2 and 24 hours.

  • The stress of PSG (Phosphosilicate glass), USG (Undoped-silicate grass) and SiN films, which are mainly used as passivation layers in semiconductor memory devices, deposited by CVD methods has been studied as a function of film thickness and holding time in air. The stress of the PSG film or the USG film is increased in tensile state with increasing film thickness. On the other hand the stress level of the SiN film in compressive stress does not change as film thickness changes. The stress of PSG film shows the drastic change from the tensile stress to the compressive stress after the film is left 2 days in air. FTIR spectra indicated that the stress variation was due to the penetration of water molecule. It looks possible to recover the stress of about $2.5{\times}{10^9}dyne/cm^2$ by annealing treatment at $300^{\circ}C$ for 20min. The total stress of multi-layered films having the PSG film is determined mainly by the stress variation of PSG layer with holding time. The total stress of multi-layered film appears to have a functional relationship with the stress in the thickness of each film. The resistance against stress-migration of sputtered Al line increases with increasing the tensile stress for the PSG film or the USG film.

  • Double-layered polymer films to assay the radioactive contamination were formulated using polysulfone (PSF) and cerium activated yttrium silicate (CAYS), consisting of a dense support layer and a CAYS-holding top layer prepared via the diffusion-induced phase inversion. As the vapor exposure process was omitted, the CAYS-holding layer showed a typical asymmetric structure, with CAYS being transfixed into the polymer network spread with large macropores. With the increase in vapor exposure time before immersion, morphology of the films transformed from asymmetric to sponge-like structures, with CAYS being localized in cellular structure. The border structure between the two layers reflects the phase inversion behavior of a cast solution during the coagulation. In the radioactive detection, the polymer phase in a film holding a sponge-like structure is so dense that the radionuclides, deposited on the film, could not filter through the phase, consequently resulting in the loss in the detection efficiency of the film.

  • In this study, we defined abandoned vacant housing, as well as analyzed where and how the vacancies occurred. The temporal range of this study is 2005 and 2010, while the spatial range is nationwide. The minimum unit of space for the analysis is city district. First, we suggested that in the rural areas, it is necessary to manage an aged detached housing, while in the urban areas, it is necessary to manage aged apartments in order to prevent a large amount of old apartment buildings from becoming an abandoned vacant houses. Second, we proposed to select and manage the priority area in the empty area management. Finally, in the areas where other vacant houses are populated, the abandoned housing problem should be discussed with different measures from a long-term point of view in terms of population movement, population decline, and aging population.

  • Recently PBD method, one of acceleration of consolidation methods is used in the soft ground to shorten consolidation time for fast settlement during construction. It is economical and easy to work. Discharge capacity of PBD is sensitive in proportion to thickness of soft ground layer, and drainage of PBD declines due to disturbance effect in surrounding ground by mandrel used for vertical drainage setting and setting machines and type. Also, deviation of discharge capacity is large according to ground condition, construction condition and soil properties. In addition, when embankment loading is not conducted instantly after PBD setting due to rain or lack of embankment material supply, it causes leaving period problems. But cause and analysis of those problems for discharge capacity is lack. So, in this test, ground improvement and discharge capacity is investigated by implementing composite discharge capacity test for analysis of an effect factor of PBD discharge capacity with leaving period. After fixing the vertical drain on a cylindrical cylinder, put churned sample into the cylinder. Then leave 0day, 30day, 60day and 90day. And then, load following the loading step of 30, 70 and 120kPa using a pressure device. As a result, the longer leaving period, discharge capacity is reduced. It is caused by a decrease of discharge area caused by creep transformation moisture absorption of PBD filter after long leaving period.

  • The friction material for automobile is manufactured by mixing several composites to stop the running vehicles. Friction characteristics are changed significantly according to the relative amount of the base materials. However, difference of friction coefficient is sometimes measured at the test for the same friction material. Nevertheless, the study for solving these problems is insufficient. In this paper, the friction tests were carried out by changing the external environment and processing condition when the main ingredients are fixed and also evaluated how the friction coefficient changes. The variables are cooling air speed, humidity (Relative humidity and Absolute humidity), scorching time, soaking time and pad area. And it is analytically considered which environmental factor mainly affects the characteristic of friction coefficient variation by experiment. It is expected that the results from this study can be very useful as a database for development of the friction material.

  • Fresh broccoli is known to have the highest content of sulforaphane (S-methylsulfinylbutyl isothiocyanate) among all vegetables. Since isothiocyanates are formed from myrosinase-catalyzed hydrolysis of glucosinolates during tissue destruction of broccoli, the formation of sulforaphane in the extract of broccoli was examined under various processing conditions. The amount of sulforaphane in processed broccoli was measured using GC/MS analysis. Among fresh, dried, and boiled broccoli fresh broccoli exhibited the highest content of sulforaphane. Sulforaphane was maximally produced from the homogenate in 0.1 M phosphate buffer containing 1 mM Vitamin C stored at room temperature for 1 hr. In boiled broccoli, the amount of sulforaphane decreased as the boiling time increased, and reached to 10% of control after 30 min boiling. The amount of sulforaphane was decreased remarkably in dried broccoli in which freeze-dried and heat-dried broccoli had about 50% and 30% of fresh ones, respectively.

  • The released amount of thiocyanate ion in Cruciferous vegetables treated by wet heat, increased as the reaction time goes by and was maximum value after treatment for 30min, but it was not changed by dry heat treatment. When samples were autolyzed by myrosinase, the amount of thiocyanate ion increased gradually as time goes by, was maximum value after 3hrs and much higher than those in the sample treated by wet. The released amount of thiocyanate ion in each sample showed much in cabbage, Chinese cabbage, radish, kale and mustard in the order. The generated amount of indoleacetonitrile by heat treatment increased as time goes by and the generated amount in each sample determined was high in the order of cabbage, Chinese cabbage and radish.

  • A simple two-terminal cyclic current0voltage(I-V) technique was used to measure the current-transients in metal-oxide-semiconductor capacitors. Distinct charging/discharging currents were measured and analyzed as a function of the hold time, the delay time, the gate polarity during the FNT electron injection, the injection fluence and the annealing time after the injection had stopped. The charge-exchange current was distinguished from total current-transients containing the displacement current components. Charging/discharging current caused by the charge exchange was strongly dependent not only on the density of positive charges in the $SiO_2$, but also on the density of interface traps generated during the FNT electron injection. Several tentative mechanisms were suggested.
