  • Six unrecorded click beetles of Elateridae are reported in Korea for the first time as follows: 1) Lacon altaicus ($Cand{\acute{e}}ze$, 1882) in Agrypnidae; 2) Diacanthous undulatus DeGeer, 1774, 3) Liotrichus ligneus ($Cand{\grave{e}}ze$, 1879), 4) Aplotarsus imperceptus Gurjeva, 1987, 5) Prosternon aurichalceum Stepanov, 1930, and 6) Anostirus (Anostirus) castaneus castaneus (Linnaeus, 1758) in Denticollinae. Among them, three genera, Diacanthous, Liotrichus, and Aplotarsus, are also recorded for the first time. The previously recorded sepcies, Prosternon tessellatum Linnaeus, 1758 is suggested to be excluded from the Korean fauna by a misidentification of P. aurichalceum.

  • We conducted taxonomic study of Languriinae in Korea. Nine species that belong to two genera of one tribe were identified in Korea. Two species, Anadastus ruficeps (Crotch) and Anadastus praetermissus (Janson), were recorded for the first time in Korea. Description, photographs of adults, illustrations of diagnostic characteristics, and a key have been provided.

  • We found a new species, Crepidophorus bangtaesanensis sp. nov., collected from Mt. Bangtae-san, Gangwon-do, Korea. The description and photos of this new species are provided. The genus Crepidophorus, belonging to the subfamily Denticollinae, is also recorded for the first time.

  • Studies were carried out with specimens collected throughout the country during $1984{\sim}1986$, and preserved specimens kept in the Insect Museum within the Dept. of Agricultural Biology, College of Agriculture, Seoul Nat'l Univ., and the Dept. of Entomol., Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Suweon, Korea. As the result of this study, 10 species and 1 subspecies are presented here with a key and descriptions. Among them, 7 species and 1 subspecies are already reported by others, while the rest 3 species (Agrypnus setigera, A. miyamotoi, A. hyponicola) are reported here for the first time in Korea.

  • Pseudanostirus ecarinatus (Stepanov, 1930) is recognized for the first time in Korea. A redescription and illustrations of the species are presented based on a single male specimen collected from Mt. Bangtae Gangwon-do. We also provide diagnostic characteristics of the genus, which clearly separate it from other closely related genera, Calambus Thomson, 1859 and Anostrius Thomson, 1859.

  • This study was carried out to classify the arthropods inhabited in pine mushroom (Tricholoma matsutake Singer). The arthropods were collected in a state forest (196 compartment, 157ha) located in Yangyang-gun, Kangwon-do. After collection the arthropods were classified in laboratory. The results obtained are summarized as follow; 1. Insects inhabited in pine mushroom are in total 19 Families of 7 Orders. Some animals in Araneina, Acarina, Nematoda and Stylommatophora were also observed, 2. The most injurious pests are Gyrophaena niponensis, Elateridae, Deosophilidae and Philomycidae (Stylommatophora). 3. The most dominant species is Gyrophaena niponensis (Staphylinidae, Coleoptera). 4. Some possible natural enemies are Oxyporus germanus, Sphedanolestes impressicollis, Phoridae, Carabidae, Pteromalidae, Eulophidae and Araneina.
