Development of Educational Training Assistance System on Digital Mobile X-ray Equipment (디지털 이동형 X선 장비의 교육용 보조 시스템 개발)

  • 이동형 X선 장비를 이용하는 초보자들이 운전에 대한 부담감을 줄이고 손쉽게 훈련하면서도 장비의 손상을 방지하면서 교육할 수 있도록 안전한 X선 검사를 통한 국민보건향상을 위해 디지털 이동형 X선 장비의 교육용 보조 시스템을 개발하고자 하였다. 본 시스템은 교육 훈련을 위한 전용 코스 환경 개발, 장애물 인식을 위한 라인트레이서 탐색 및 초음파 센서 개발로 구성되어 있다. 학생들을 위한 이동형 X선 장비 교육을 위한 보조 시스템 개발로 이동형 X선 장비 전용 코스 환경은 교육을 위해 ㄷ형, T형, S형 등의 다양한 형태이다. 이 기능을 이용하여 각각의 코스에서 교육생들이 운전의 오류를 화면에 점수화하여 실무능력을 높일 수 있으리라 기대된다.

Effects of Practical Training Using 3D Printed Structure-Based Blind Boxes on Multi-Dimensional Radiographic Image Interpretation Ability (3D 프린팅 구조물 기반 블라인드박스를 이용한 실습교육이 다차원 방사선영상해독력에 미치는 효과)

  • In this study, we are purposed to find the educational effect of practical training using a 3D printed structure-based blind box on multidimensional radiographic image interpretation. The subjects were 83 (male: 49, female: 34) 2nd year radiological science students who participated in the digital medical imaging practice that was conducted for 3 years from 2020 to 2022. The learning method used 3D printing technology to print out the inside structure of the blind box designed by itself. After taking X-rays 3 times (x, y, z axis), the structure images in the blind box were analyzed for each small group. We made the 3D structure that was self-made with clay based on our 2D radiographic images. After taking X-rays of the 3D structure, it was compared whether it matches the structural image of the blind box. The educational effect for the practical training surveyed class faithfulness, radiographic image interpretation ability (attenuation concept, contrast concept, windowing concept, 3-dimensional reading ability), class satisfaction (interest, external recommendation, immersion) on a 5-point Likert scale as an anonymous student self-writing method. As a result, all evaluation items had high positive effects without significant differences between males and females. Practical education using blind boxes is a meaningful example of radiology education technology using 3D printing technology, and it is expected to be used as content to improve students' problem-solving skills and increase satisfaction with major subjects.

Development of a Needs Based Education Course on the Basics of Radiation (수요 분석 기반 방사선 기초 교육과정 개발)

  • With the export of commercial nuclear power plants to UAE and that of a research reactor to Jordan, as well as the additional construction of domestic nuclear power plants, the demand of nuclear manpower is expected to increase sharply. Accordingly, nuclear manpower development is recently becoming an important issue. Major institutes involved in nuclear programs are well equipped with education and training procedures and resources. However, small and medium sized businesses have difficulties to educate their employees due to their limited resources and capacity for the education. Addressing the difficulties, this study is intended to develop and education course in accordance with the "Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)". For this, a survey is conducted on the need of education in small and medium sized businesses, based on which a pilot course on the basics of radiation is developed and operated. An assessment on the development and operation using a survey regarding participants response has shown high grades of performance, i.e. above 4.0 points (full mark: 5.0 points) on each level of expectancy, satisfaction and lecturers' capacity. The experience from this study will be used to develop other programs of nuclear power and ASME code, which are also identified from the need analysis.

Influences on Radiation Safety Management Practice of General Characteristics and Radiation Safety Management Practice for Dental Hygienists in Busan and Gyeongnam Province (부산.경남 일부지역 치과위생사들의 일반적 특성과 방사선 안전관리 특성이 방사선 안전관리 실천에 미치는 영향)

  • This research, which was conducted for dental hygienists, intended to check out what factors have an influence on their practices by knowledge and attitude on radiation safety management (RSM). This study performed a survey on such an issue from July 2 to August 30, 2012 for 220 dental hygienists who worked in Busan, Gyeongnam areas. The data was analysed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0 program. The results were as follows: As a result of the knowledge according to the general characteristics and RSM, a statistically meaningful difference was found according to the education on radiation and wearing apron. As for the attitude according to the general characteristics and RSM, a statistically meaningful difference was found according to the education on radiation and wearing apron. As to the practice according to the general characteristics and RSM, a statistically meaningful difference was found according to the education on radiation, wearing thermo luminescent dosimeter and wearing apron. When the analysis of safety management practice for radiation was conducted with the independent variables such as knowledge, altitude and health concerns about radiography, it turned out that the factors having an effect on the practice were altitude and health concerns by that order.

  • 본 연구는 환자들의 진단용 방사선피폭 인식에 대한 관련 요인을 분석하여, 환자들의 방사선 피폭에 대한 인식의 변화를 위한 교육 자료를 만드는데 기초자료로 제공하기 위함이다. 1. 방사선에 대한 인지도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 방사선 유해성 인지도, 방사선 피폭방지 인지도, 학력, 방사선검사 경험, 방사선 피폭에 대한 설명을 들은 경험, 방사선 지식도로 나타났다. 2. 방사선의 유해성에 대한 인지도에 영상을 미치는 요인으로는 방사선의 인지도, 성별, 직업, 방사선 검사 경험, 방사선 검사의 종류, 방사선 피폭의 두려움 정도와 방사선 검사 후 향후 이상의 걱정으로 나타났다. 3. 방사선의 필요성에 대한 인지도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 방사선 유해성 인지도, 방사선 피폭방지 인지도, 성별, 직업, 가구 월 소득, 방사선 검사의 종류, 방사선 피폭에 대한 설명을 들은 경험, 방사선 지식도, 방사선 검사 후 향후 이상의 걱정으로 나타났다. 4. 방사선 피폭방지에 대한 인지도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 방사선 인지도, 방사선의 필요성 인지도, 성별, 나이, 직업, 가구 월 소득, 방사선 검사의 종류, 방사선 피폭에 대한 설명을 들은 경험, 방사선 지식도로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통하여 본 결과 환자들은 방사선 피폭에 대해서 너무 민감하게 반응하고 있으며 그 원인이 방사선에 대한 무지에 있음이 드러났다. 그러므로 환자들로 하여금 진단용 방사선 피폭에 대하여 올바르게 인식을 할 수 있도록 돕는 교육 프로그램의 개발이 시급하며, 방사선사들에게는 환자의 피폭선량 경감을 위한 세심한 배려가 필요하다고 하겠다. 환자들 또한 진단용 방사선에 대하여 올바로 인식하는 것이 촬영 시 정신적인 피해를 줄일 수 있으며, 방사선 피폭을 줄일 수 있을 것이다.

A Survey of Radiologic Science Students' Awareness and Educational Needs of Forensic Medicine (방사선학과 전공 학생들의 법의학에 대한 인식과 교육 요구도 조사)

  • Due to the development of the domestic economy and science, the people's standard of living has increased. Accordingly, we want to improve the quality of life. In other words, we guarantee human rights and pursue dignity and value as human beings. Therefore, the medical field extends human life and helps maintain a healthy life. The social medicine that protects human rights is forensic medicine. Forensic medicine identifies deaths and analyzes the cause using forensic radiology images. Forensic radiology is the acquisition and provision of medical images by the radiographer. Therefore, the radiographer must have expertise by completing forensic science-related courses. Recently, medical and nursing schools have opened and operated various subjects such as forensic medicine and forensic nursing. However, the Department of Radiology science is the only school that offers courses related to forensic science. For the future development and exploration of the radiographer and department of radiology science, forensic education should be considered. For this purpose, we investigated the necessity and demand for forensic education in the department of radiology science undergraduate and graduate schools. The department of radiology science students' awareness of forensic science was found to be 2.977 points, but the need for forensic science education for the radiographer was high at 3.759 points. In addition, current students' demand for forensic science courses was high at 84.1%, with the majority responding that it was necessary to open and operate the course. This study was able to determine the demand for forensic science-related subjects among the department of radiology science undergraduate and graduate students, and there is a need to explore diversity and expertise in education. We hope that it will be used as basic data for the development of forensic medicine and radiology science.

Requirements in the Overseas Employment and Domestic Connected Education for Radiological Technologists : Refers to Students Enrolled in the Department of Radiation (방사선사 해외취업 및 국내 연계교육에 대한 요구도 : 방사선과 재학생을 중심으로)

  • This study investigated the realities of information acquirements and its requirements in the overseas employment and domestic connected education for students at the department of radiation in order to provide basic information for developing the standard educational curriculum for future internationalization in the education of radiation and presenting its direction. The investigation implemented in this study was performed through a questionnaire with 688 students enrolled in the department of radiation. The conclusion of the investigation is summarized as follows : The answers for the question of 'No acquirements in the information of the overseas employment and connected education for radiological technologists' were 487 students (70.8%), and the reason that 'There are no chances in related education' was the highest rate, 424 students (61.6%), of the answers. In the education for the overseas employment, the answers for the question of 'Select a connected education program in school instead of study abroad' were the highest rate, 436 students (63.4%). The most concerned country for the overseas employment was 'Australia', 247 students (35.9%). As a result, answers for the interest, participation, need, and hope for the overseas employment showed high rates even though they demonstrated a low recognition level in the overseas employment. In addition, it is necessary to strategically plan an education program for this issue because all participants agree with the current stream.
