지난해 12월, 발코니 개조가 전면 허용됨에 따라 신축 아파트는 물론 기존 아파트 거주자들도 발코니 확장에 지대한 관심을 쏟고 있다. 발코니 확장은 적은 비용으로 더욱 넓은 평수를 합법적으로 사용할 수 있다는 매력 외에 발코니를 실내공간에 포함시켜 다양한 용도로의 활용이 가능하다는 특징이 있다. 이로 인해 주거의 질적 향상 및 인테리어 수요 증가, 주택문화 트렌드에도 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상된다. 이에 입주자들이 발코니 확장에 앞서 꼼꼼히 체크해야 할 포인트들과 시공비 및 주의사항, 발코니 확장으로 가능해진 다양한 공간 활용에 대해 알아본다.

그냥 두자니 아깝고 바꿔보자니 딱히 묘안이 떠오르지 않는 공간, 발코니 하지만 애매모호한 공간도 간단한 발상의 전환만 있으면 집 안에서 가장 빛나는 곳으로 변모할 수 있다.

아파트 안전의 핵심적인 요소인 발코니 확장의 합법화로 인해 화재발생시 위협요인이 증가하고 있다. 아파트 발코니는 화재 방지와 유사시 대피공간으로의 역할 뿐만 아니라 상층으로의 연소 확대를 지연시켜주는 매우 중요한 공간이다. 따라서 생활의 편의성과 미적 쾌적함만을 중시하기 보다는 안전한 주거공간의 확보와 이에 상응하는 안전시설의 설치에도 세심한 주의를 기울여야 할 때이다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the using behavior of the balcony space in apartment housing for improving apartment balcony as dwelling space. For that, it is needed to identify the practical meaning of balcony space as function so balcony expansion and the using behavior of balcony space were investigated and analyzed. For this study, survey and depth-interview methods were used for data collection. The major findings were as followings: 1) Balcony expansion mainly occurred in balcony of livingroom and bedroom. Balcony expansion showed several phases according to the type of plan and function of balcony space and few residents chose expansion of all balconies. 2) The using behavior of balcony space was categorized by these various functions of balconies. It was also related to unit-plan type of apartment housing. These results can provide improvement guidelines for the balcony with the differentiation of design factors for residents.

복층이 있는 공간의 음향 특성을 계산식, 시뮬레이션 및 실측을 통해 비교해 보았다. 언더발코니 스피커의 바로 뒤 지역은 메인스피커와 딜레이 차이가 생기며, 중/저음 부분에서 충분한 음압저하가 이뤄지지 않아 컴필터링(Comb-Filtering) 현상이 크게 발생하게 된다. 또한 언더발코니 스피커의 바로 하부 지역은 스피커와 거리가 2~3m 내외로 언더발코니 스피커의 음압이 메인 스피커보다 커져 강대상과 음상일치가 깨지게 된다. 언더발코니 스피커에서 5~6m 이상 벗어나는 지역은 음의 역자승법칙에 따라 언더발코니 스피커 하부 지역보다 10dB이상 차이가 발생하며, 메인스피커에서도 중/고역 주파수(Mid/High Frequency) 음이 유입되지 않아 주파수별 음압 편차가 크게 발생하여 집중도가 떨어지게 된다. 이러한 음향 문제를 최소화하기 위해서 메인스피커의 위치 및 출력에 따른 언더발코니 스피커의 적절한 배치와 출력이 요청된다. 발코니 하부 지역을 더 쾌적한 음향 환경으로 개선하기 위해서는 언더발코니 스피커에 대한 적절한 음향설계 방향이 제시되어야 한다.

The purpose of this study is to make clear the indoor environmental efficiency and spatial function of the front balcony in apartments using responses from residents'. An interview survey carried out during the 14/sup th/∼24/sup th/ of January 2003, and a questionnaire survey was given during the 17/sup th/∼29/sup th/of January. Interviewees consisted of 31 residents living in renovated apartments, which had the front balcony added onto the living room. The respondents of the questionnaire survey consisted of 37 residents living in ordinary apartments with an existing front balcony. The residents living in ordinary apartments show relatively positive responses on the indoor thermal environment during winter, glare by daylight, and outdoor noise. The average heating charges of the renovated apartments came out to be more expensive than the ordinary apartments. In most renovated apartments, the living area converted from front balcony was used as the same functions ('space for drying the laundry', 'storage space', or 'space for cultivating of flower pots') of ordinary front balcony. From the results of this study, it is undesirable to renovate the front balcony as an addition to the livingroom.

최근 들어 주거공간의 기능만족과 효율성 확보를 위해 외기측에 면한 발코니 부위를 확장하는 사례가 늘어나고 있으며 특히, 최상층에 위치한 확장형 주거공간의 경우 외벽에 설치된 AL Curtain wall상부 외벽복합 Panel 이 완전 기밀하지 않음으로 인해 천정 상부측으로 낮은 외기온의 이동에 의한 실온과의 온도차에 의해 내부결로의 발생 가능성을 전혀 배제할 수는 없는 상황이다. 본 연구는 외기에 면한 초고층 아파트 최상층부의 발코니 천장내부에 있는 H-Beam(내화피복+단열재 구성)파 Parapet부위 내부결로 발생가능성에 대한 예측을 해 봄으로써 해당 공간거주자의 쾌적한 환경 만족 및 불안을 해소하는데 그 목적이 있다. 외주부를 구성하고 있는 Curtain wall Stone panel 또는 슬래브 바닥하부 등의 열적 취약공간에 대해 2차원 정상상태(온도평형) 열전도해석 Program을 이용, 온도예측과 온도분포해석을 통해 해당부위의 수증기압 분포에 따른 내부결로 예측을 실시하였다.
