대전차 무기로 각광받는 휴대용 대전차 미사일

  • 전차는 제1차 세계대전 중인 1916년 영국 육군에 의해 Mark-I 전차가 등장한 이래, 80여년동안 지상전에서 중요한 역할을 수행했으며, 미래에도 더욱 정교한 무기체계(피아식별 장비 부착, 개량형 장갑/방호기술, 강력한 추진 시스템, 무기의 유효성 등)로 발전될 것이다. 이에 따라 대전차 무기체계도 바주카형에서 LAW 및 다목적 대장갑차무기, 특히 대전차 미사일의 눈부신 발달(소형화, 견착식, 상부공격력, 관통능력 향상, 전자파 방해방지 등)로 전차와 대전차 무기는 "탁구 게임"을 연상케하는 치열한 경쟁이 되어 왔다. 즉 "창"과 "방패"와 같이 상대적 발전에 따라 지속적으로 첨단과학기술이 총동원되고 있는 추세이다. 이 글에서는 대전차미사일의 개발 성과와 발전 추세를 소개하고자 한다

스마트 랩 개념과 도입 사례

  • 코로나-19 팬데믹으로 인류는 많은 어려움에 처하게 되었다. 그러나 바이러스 감염 예방을 위해 대량 시료에 대한 정확하고 신속한 분석이 필요함에 따라 실험실 자동화 기술의 상용화가 크게 앞당겨졌다. 스마트 랩이란 실험실 자동화를 위한 H/W인 실험실 자동화 시스템(LAS)와 실험 절차 및 데이터를 통합 관리하는 S/W인 실험실 데이터 관리 시스템 (LIMS)의 결합으로 이뤄진 통합 연구 시스템이라고 할 수 있다. 스마트 랩을 통해 사용자는 24시간 연속적인 장비 가동을 통한 분석 물량 확대는 물론 전처리와 같은 반복 작업 감소, 정확도 향상 등의 자동화로 인한 장점과 함께 시험 방법의 동일성 유지, 시료별 이력 추적, 조작 방지 등의 소프트웨어적인 장점을 동시에 얻을 수 있다. 스마트 랩은 지금도 발전하고 있으며 일부 대기업과 연구소에서 도입을 추진하고 있는 태동기라고 할 수 있다. 최근 우리나라가 선도하고 있는 페로브스카이트 태양전지와 같이 수분에 취약한 유무가 복합 재료의 in-line 시험이나 조성의 미세한 조정에 따라 변화하는 물성 변화를 추적 조사하는데 필요한 많은 측정과 데이터 처리 등 태양전지 분야에서도 앞으로 그 활약이 기대된다.

A Pilot Study of In-hole Seismic Method (인홀탄성파시험의 타당성 연구)

  • Over the past half century, borehole seismic surveys have been diversified into the three techniques such as crosshole, downhole, and suspension logging according to their devices and testing configurations. These field techniques have been improved, in terms of equipment and testing procedures, and are very valuable in the evaluation of ground characteristics for geotechnical and earthquake engineering problems. Yet, despite the importance and significance of the techniques as engineering tools, the techniques are not much used as standard penetration test (SPT) by practicing engineers. The possible explanations are cost and operational difficulties of the surveys as well as sophistication and complexity of the devices. An in-hole seismic method has been developed to meet the requirement of economical testing cost and practicality in engineering practice to measure dynamic soil properties. The prototype in-hole probe developed herein is small and light enough to be fit in three-inch boreholes and to be handled with bare hands. The performance of the source has been evaluated through extensive crosshole tests at various sites. The in-hole seismic method was adopted at three test sites and verified by comparing with crosshole results.

  • 스마트홈 구축을 위한 다양한 IoT 기술 발전과 더불어 IoT 장비들의 저전력, 고효율, 편리성에 대한 사용자 니즈에 대한 관심이 급증하고 있다. 이러한 사용자 니즈를 반영하듯이 최근 아두이노 및 라즈베리 파이등 저비용으로 IoT 장비를 구축할 수 있는 다양한 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 우리는 본 연구를 통해 뉴로-퍼지기술을 이용해 저전력, 고효율, 편리성을 겸비한 저렴한 IoT 장비 및 솔루션을 제안하고자 한다. 뉴로-퍼지를 이용하게 되면 기존의 단순한 센싱에 대한 제어와 다르게 다양한 환경변수를 분석하고 고려해 효율적인 제어가 가능할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 욕실 환경에서의 발생할 수 있는 다양한 환경변수를 추출하고 사용자가 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 실시간 발생하는 상황과 온도, 습도 등을 뉴로-퍼지를 통해 제어할 수 있는 알고리즘을 설계한다. 그리하여 뉴로-퍼지를 이용하여 설계된 욕실환경 제어 시스템은 사용자의 욕실 이용에 효과적인 영향을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 우리는 본 연구에서 저비용 고효율의 효율적 시스템을 구성할 수 있는 IoT 센서와 아두이노 및 라즈베리 파이를 활용해 다양한 IoT 장비들을 모니터링하고 분석하여 쾌적한 스마트 홈을 구축할 수 있는 방향을 제시하였다. 또한 그러한 IoT 장비들을 제어할 수 있는 IoT gateway system을 설계하고 구현하였다.

  • A pavement construction process consists of series of lay-down operation for pavement materials to form a designated thickness and compaction operation for the lay-down layer to form a designated strength. A technological breakthrough in pavement compaction equipment was made in last 15 years in western countries: intelligent compaction roller, that is equipped with GPS along with other pavement response sensors is becoming a game-changer in pavement construction. This paper introduces AR system that may be used in asphalt pavement compaction operation using intelligent compactor. Since AR technology is very new concept in road construction society, a suggestion for accompanying education program was also made for specific task group in pavement compaction operation. Since AR technology has not been introduced in asphalt pavement compaction operation, the AR compaction management would lead the construction quality of asphalt pavement to the beyond level.

  • This study analyzed the important factors in service quality for public usage of national R&D facilities and equipments, and, using those factors, performed the importance-performance analysis for several national R&D programs in order to examine what service quality factors should be concentrically improved in each programs. Additionally, the in-depth interview with program managers and R&D facility experts was performed to realize the managerial issues subject to the characteristics of programs regarding the national R&D public facility management. As the results, this study made some political suggestions such as the reformation of promoter's role regarding the formulation of the government policy to support those programs. For example, it is more suitable for colleges as the subject of programs to be invested for self-research purpose rather than public usage, for independent corporation to be centered on the more general and common production fields, and for the government R&D agencies on the leading and special technical fields.

  • The location based service is divided into GPS that uses the artificial satellite or base transceiver station in order to cover the wide area and RTLS(Real Time Location System) using the Zigbee, RFID, CSS(Chirp Spread Spectrum), UWB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi equipment in the space(close range) limited like the building inside or park. Moreover it also repeats the technical development upon through the acceleration of the development of the wire and wireless infrastructure and determination technology, the development of the Internet, diversification of the contents, and etc. As a result, it is expected to develop around the determination technology, witch is common core technology element, contents technology, Internet and mobile communication technology, and etc. afterward. In this research, the direction we investigate was to find and analyze new technology and standardization trend of LBS in order to contribute to the related industry.

  • Recently, solar photovoltaic(PV) power generation which generates electrical power from solar panels composed of multiple solar cells, showed the most prominent growth in the renewable energy sector worldwide. However, in spite of increased demand and need for a photovoltaic power generation, it is difficult to early detect defects of solar panels and equipments due to wide and irregular distribution of power generation. In this paper, we choose an optimal machine learning algorithm for estimating the generation amount of solar power by considering several panel information and climate information and develop a defect detection system by using the chosen algorithm generation. Also we apply the algorithm to a domestic solar photovoltaic power plant as a case study.

  • Offshore wind power can be an alternative for onshore wind power which suffers from not only civil complaints regarding to landscape damage and noise but also wind power siting due to lack of onshore site candidates. Compared to onshore wind power, offshore wind power is free from these problems considering that generally the sites are far enough from the coast. And more electricity is generated in offshore wind turbines due to abundant offshore wind resources. However high installation costs of offshore turbines could deteriorate the economical efficiency. The main cause of the high installation costs comes from a long-term lease of the heavy marine equipment and the consequential high rental cost. In this paper, the conceptual design of the support structure for offshore wind turbines will be suggested for the installation of them with less heavy marine equipment.

  • With progress in industrialization, facilities for generating, delivering, and receiving high levels of electric power are in great demand. The scale of electric power equipment is increasing in both size and complexity. This has contributed to the development of our modern, high-tech and information-based society. However, if the generation of electric power is suspended due to unexpected accidents at power facilities or power stations, a range of equipment the operations of which are dependent on electric power can be damaged, causing substantial socioeconomic losses in an industrial society. A great deal of time and money would be expended to repair damaged facilities at a power station, causing enormous economic loss. In order to detect the deterioration processes of power cables, and to prevent the destruction of power cables, the operation status of power cables should be monitored on a regular basis. We studied the method in order to improve accuracy and reliability for diagnosising the junction where accident occurs frequently. We present the method of data acquisition and statistical processing.
