  • Metal hydrides can be used for the purpose of heat storage and transportation from the industrial complex which own recoverable waste heats to the neighboring cities by the medium of hydrogen. The properties of metal hydrides, some problems of heat transportation using metal hydrides, and the example of heat transportation system were discussed.

The Study about Cooling Effect of a Heated module in a Horizontal Channel with a Variation of Channel Height (수평채널 밑면에 부착된 단일 발열모듈에서 채널높이의 변화에 따른 냉각특성 연구)

  • The coupled conduction and convection heat transfer from a protruding heated module in a horizontal channel with a variation of channel height is experimentally investigated. The input power to the module is 3, 7W and thermal resistance of module support is 0.06 , 1.03 and 158K/W. the Reynolds number ranged from 350 to 4500 corresponding to the inlet velocity(0.4~1.3 m/s) and channel height(11~35 mm). The results were obtained that the decrease of thermal resistance of module support reduces the module temperature by redistributing the heat flux and the overall thermal resistance of the module. In the study the effect of channel height is very significant in the adiabatic condition, but negligible in the conjugate condition. Finally, correlations for Nusselt number and $Q_B$/Q with a variation of Reynolds number were developed respectively.

  • The change of the thermal properties of exothermic & insulating materials with mixing condition of raw materials which is the most important factor for exothermic & insulating materials was investigated by using the evaluation system of the thermal properties of exothermic & insulating materials. In this study, the effect of the thermal properties of the exothermic & insulating materials such as exothermic properties, endothermic properties, insulating properties, maximum temperature of molten metal, ignition time of exothermic & insulating materials and temperature recovery time on the mixing ratio of reductant and oxidant, types of reductant, and particle sizes of reductants was examined. It could be expected to design the mixing condition of raw materials for various exothermic & insulating materials.

  • Diglycidyll ether of bisphenol A(DGEBA)/4, 4'-methylene dianiline(MDA)계에 반응성 첨가제 malononitrile(MN)을 첨가하면 내충격성은 크게 향상되나 반응속도는 감소하게 된다. 에폭시 수지의 경화반응은 에폭시기가 개환되어 생성되는 히드록시기가 촉매로 작용하는 자촉매 반응이며, 외부에서도입된 히드록시기도 같은 효과를 나타낸다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 DGEBA/MDA/MN 계의경화 반응속도를 증가시키기 위해 히드록시기를 가진 촉매로서 hydroquinone(HQ)을 도입하였고 이들 계의경화특성 및 열적성질을 고찰하였다. HQ가 첨가됨으로 인해 활성화 에너지는 감속하고 속도상수는 증가하였으며, 발열곡선에서 반응 시작온도가 낮아졌다. 이 결과로부터 HQ가 반응 가속제로 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있다.

  • Recently, the crack of concrete induced by the heat of hydration of cement is a serious problem for more greater, special and higher strength of concrete structures. The increasing concrete's temperature is mainly caused by the heat of hydration of cement and so, to control the thermal stress of concrete structure is desirable to use low heater material of hydration. There are many methods to diminish the increasing of concrete temperature such as using of low heat cement, addition of fly-ash, application of pre-cooling, etc., and in this study, we evaluate the heating and mechanical properties of ultra low heat mass concrete using Low Heat Portland(KS Type IV) cement with 30% of limestone powder. The results of this study will be applied to side wall and bottom of No. 15 and 16 of underground LNG tank in Inchon.

  • 최근 국내 전력공급 문제에 따라 다양한 에너지절감형 기술과 제품이 연구되고 있다. 특히 국내 기준 전체 전력 소비량의 약 20%를 차지하는 조명분야에서는 기존 조명을 대체할 친환경, 고효율 LED 조명에 대한 기술이 대두되고 있다. LED 조명은 원리의 특성상 광효율과 비례하여 LED 접합부 온도가 상승하며 이는 광효율과 수명을 저하시킨다. 이에 다양한 방열기술이 LED 조명기술의 핵심이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 LED 모듈 접합부의 발열을 열전소자를 활용하여 열전발전 함으로써 에너지를 절감하고, 열회수를 통한 방열효과를 제공 하는 LED 조명을 제안한다.

  • The electrical and physical characteristics of MgO and Pt thin-films on Si wafers deposited by r.f magnetron sputtering, were analyzed with annealing condition(100$0^{\circ}C$, 120 min) by four point probe, SEM and XRD. Until annealing temperature of 100$0^{\circ}C$, MgO had the properties of improving Pt adhesion to SiO$_2$ and insulation without chemical reaction to Pt thin-films and the resistivity of Pt thin-films was improved. The thermal characteristics of Pt micro-heater were analyed with Pt-RTD integrated on the same substrate, In the analysis of properties of Pt-RTD, TCR value had 3927 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ and liner in the temperature range of 25~40$0^{\circ}C$ temperature of Pt micro-heater had up to 40$0^{\circ}C$ with 1.5 watts of the heating power.

  • As a result of measuring the compressive strength and semi-adiabatic temperature rise of the mixed mortar, it was confirmed that the mortar mixed with the hydration heat reducing material is effective. On the other hand, the compressive strength showed similar strength to that of moderate heat Portland cement until the age 7 days, but after that, the tendency of the strength development to be delayed was confirmed.

  • 약 170년 전 혁신적인 재료라 할 수 있는 포틀랜드 시멘트가 처음 선을 보인 이래 콘크리트는 그 기술과 활용성에 있어 꾸준히 발전하여 이제는 명실상부하게 구조물 건설의 주요 재료로서 자리를 차지함은 물론이고 사회 자본의 축적과 시민 생활 향상에 혁혁한 공헌을 하여 온 것이 사실이다. 콘크리트는 건설 재료로서 필요로 하는 구성 요건을 거의 모두 갖춘 재료이며, 특히 그중에서도 가장 큰 장점이라 할 수 있는 저렴한 재료비가 큰 몫을 차지하고 있다. 그러나, 수경성에 따른 결함, 즉 경화시 발생되는 발열 반응이나 작업성을 위해 첨가된 잉여의 물이 대기 중에 증발되면서 나타나는 수축 현상 때문에 균열이 발생되는 점등은 아직도 풀어야 할 과제로 남아 있다. 콘크리트는 균질의 다른 건설 재료와는 달리 여러 재료가 복합적으로 결합되어 생성된 복합 재료이기 때문에 이러한 문제점을 완전하게 해결하기는 어렵겠지만 콘크리트가 갖고 있는 특성을 어느 정도 숙지하면 발생되는 문제점을 최소화할 수는 있을 것이다.(중략)

  • Cold weather concrete is the concrete which is used during construction under low-temperature' environment, and this kind of concrete has to be taken care not to be frozen in early ages of setting-hardening, It is specified in the Concrete Standard Specification(2003) as 'the cold weather concrete must be used on the weather condition under the average daily outdoor temperature below $4^{\circ}C$.' In this research, the mechanical characteristics and hydration heat on the cold weather concrete using high early strength portland cement were studied. As a result, the excellent quality was obtained and high early strength portland cement is expected to be used widely as the cold weather concrete.
