This study investigates invention and patent specialized high school teachers' understanding of terminology and their meaning differences in the realm of invention, career-specific, and freestyle Invention according to background variables. The population of this research consists of 333 teachers currently employed in invention and patent specialized high school and complete enumeration survey has been used. To analyze the terminology understanding and their meaning differences, total of 216 questionnaires have been collected and 211 of them (63.4%) were used, excluding the ones with insincere answers. The results of this study are as follows. First, in regard to invention, carrer-specific, freestyle Invention terminology understanding, established teachers showed higher results over new teachers. In addition, experienced teachers showed higher results over inexperienced teachers, and teachers with in-service training experiences showed higher results over the ones without. Second, when it came to understanding the terminology differences in the three realms, the new teachers showed higher results than the established teachers, inexperienced teachers over those with teaching experiences, and ones who have never taken any in-service training showed higher results than the ones with training experiences. The ones who answered 'don't know' regarding the meaning differences among terminology were established teachers over new teachers, experienced teachers over inexperienced teachers, and in-service training recipients over the ones without.

In this study, a survey was conducted to determine the understanding by teachers at KIPO-funded high schools of the specialized training of invention patent personnel. The subjects were 4 high schools and 126 copies of questionnaires were collected for analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, teachers understand that it is particularly important to provide a specialized training for students so that they can more effectively adapt to the changes in their lives. They also consider basic job skills training, moral education and job readiness training as equally important. Second, they recognize the necessity for a specialized training of invention patent personnel. Third, they think that redundant teachers arising from the reform of the curriculum for specialized training should be provided with minor training. Fourth, they think that the reform of the curriculum for specialized training should consider the following aspects: the development of a curriculum for invention patent-specialized high schools, the strengthening of administrative financial supports, the creation of a consensus among those involved for the success of the specialized training, the development of textbooks and materials, and the consideration of the future prospects and current conditions of the invention patent industry. Fifth, they think that the successful operation of specialized high schools requires the consideration of the following factors: users' understanding, conformance, selection & concentration and uniqueness.

This study was to develop new psychological capital scale for high school students attending a technical high school specialized in invention and patent education, and to examine validity and reliability of the new psychological capital scale. Of the 400 high school students attending a technical a technical high school specialized in invention and patent education in a Province, Korea, 388 completed and returned the questionnaires. PCQ (Psychological Capital Questionnaire)-24 items version was modified to measure psychological capital of them. By conducting confirmatory factor analysis, the final 19 items were selected. The Cronbach's alphas of the final version were ranged from .723 to .871. Convergent validity was supported through correlations among the sub-scales of the final version of PCQ, creative intelligence, creativity, and academic efficacy. Criterion-related validity was supported by mean differences on 4 sub-scales of psychological capital (i.e., self-efficacy, hope, resilience, and optimism) between two groups (i.e., prize-winning experiences for invention or academic achievement).

This study aims at examining text contents and its writing directions and analyzing their validity to develop text books of "invention and problem solving", which will be used for advanced courses of specialized high school of invention and patents. To develop text book contents and writing direction, literature research and professional association meetings were performed and to verify validity on developed text book contents and writing direction, survey research was performed. The subjects of survey research to verify validity consist of seventy five teachers who participated in the training course for invention leaders hosted by International Intellectual Property Training Institute (IIPTI) of Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). To examine validity on text writing directions, each area of the text, themes, and modules, questionnaires that consist of multiple choice questions, and open questions that participants can describe their opinions were developed. Text book writing plans are included in the questionnaires to help the understanding on text book contents. The conclusions drawn from results of validity analysis are as follows: First, each theme and modules of 'invention and problem solving' were properly developed for common text books for the advance course of specialized high school of invention and patents. Second, as for the text book writing direction of 'invention and problem solving', text books emphasize research ability and creative thinking. They were developed to help increase critical thinking, logical thinking and problem solving ability.
