  • Purpose: This study was to identify the relationship between knowledge, self efficacy, and self care behavior regarding foot care among elderly diabetes mellitus (DM) patients. Methods: The subjects consisted of 146 elderly with DM. The data collected from February to October 2008 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean scores of knowledge ($13.21{\pm}1.99$), self efficacy ($2.23{\pm}0.54$), and self care behavior ($2.29{\pm}0.51$) regarding foot care were moderate. The level of knowledge was significantly different according to education about DM (p = .012) and drinking (p = .007). Self efficacy was significantly different according to gender (p = .019), educational level (p = .014), spouse (p = .048), disease period (p = .000), admission of DM (p = .000), complication of DM (p = .001), education of DM (p = .023). Self care behavior was significantly different according to educational state (p = .003), disease period (p = .039), and other disease (p = .000). Significant correlations were found between knowledge and self care behavior (p = .001), self efficacy and self care behavior (p = .000), knowledge and self efficacy(p=.012). Knowledge and self efficacy were a predictor of self care behavior (18.2%). Conclusion: These findings indicate that perceived knowledge and self efficacy may be necessities to improve self care behavior regarding foot care among elderly DM patients. The above mentioned results will be reflected in developing patient educational programs.

  • A construction temporary work is main process and importance trade section. It has many works and facilities such as temporary transfer equipments which tower crane, and lift, and architectural temporary facilities which temporary office, temporary warehouse, and site test laboratory, and construction temporary equipments which scaffoldings, work plates, construction supports, and forms to set and to use in under construction and to remove in the end. A technology system of construction temporary has very low availability of field works and needs improvements in Korea as construction site has a quick response about new requirements. This study is organized existing technology systems and new technologies for field works, and developed breakdown structure of construction temporary technologies to be a basic of temporary technologies as review with site managers. For this, it will improve to be a knowledge and information system as a research of a performance and an availability about a construction temporary technology index.

  • It is necessary to manage, forecast and prepare agricultural production based on accurate and up-to-date information in order to cope with the climate change and its impacts such as global warming, floods and droughts. This study examined the applicability as well as challenges of the object-based image analysis method for developing a land cover image classification algorithm, which can support the fast thematic mapping of wide agricultural areas on a regional scale. In order to test the applicability of RapidEye's multi-temporal spectral information for differentiating agricultural land cover types, the integration of other GIS data was minimized. Under this circumstance, the land cover classification accuracy at the study area of Kimje ($1300km^2$) was 80.3%. The geometric resolution of RapidEye, 6.5m showed the possibility to derive the spatial features of agricultural land use generally cultivated on a small scale in Korea. The object-based image analysis method can realize the expert knowledge in various ways during the classification process, so that the application of spectral image information can be optimized. An additional advantage is that the already developed classification algorithm can be stored, edited with variables in detail with regard to analytical purpose, and may be applied to other images as well as other regions. However, the segmentation process, which is fundamental for the object-based image classification, often cannot be explained quantitatively. Therefore, it is necessary to draw the best results based on expert's empirical and scientific knowledge.

  • This study aimed to provide basic data for safety education by surveying the status of safety education and general safety awareness among high school students by gender and school type in Chungnam area. From July 16th to October 15th, 2015, 1214 copies collected from 16 schools were analyzed using SPSS ver 23.0. Regarding safety education, females and general high school students (GHS) responded more frequently that safety education was more necessary for school life compared to males and specialized high school students (SHS), whereas males were more interested in safety education content than females. Males and SHS lost interest when learning unfamiliar content compared to females and GHS, respectively. In terms of general safety awareness, males and GHS usually followed safety rules better than females and SHS, and males demonstrated greater knowledge of first aid. Males and SHS acted according to their beliefs towards safety rather than knowledge compared to females and GHS, respectively. This study found a significant difference in safety education and general safety awareness among high school students by gender and type of school, and the results suggest that differentiated safety education is necessary.
